Spark plug change on a Mercury 4 Stroke Verado

Changing spark plugs on your Mercury 4 stroke is an pretty easy task for you and will save you some money. Watch as i demonstrate on my 300 HP Verado, all the steps it takes for a successful spark plug change. All you need is a ratchet with an extension and a 14cmm socket, new spark plugs and a feeler gauge to check for proper gap. you can order the NGK plugs i used from O'reilly Auto parts on line for about $70 and the shipping is free.

I've never used anti-seize. I've always put a dab of fresh motor oil on the threads.

Not on any outboard that I’ve owned. There’s no need unless they are cracked and causing an arc. If you have an older motor, twist them and see they are dry rotted and if so, then change them. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
