The book content is perfect for butterflies! Butterflies love to eat dead meat, so they'd probably love that section of the book!
Oh excellent 😄 happy accident that, haha 💜
February was a mess too, but I have a system for that. When I'm low, I prepare my week and that's all. When I'm high energy, I make my dailys. That's all. Kisses from France !
In moments of no energy, sticking to the bare minimun is the best.
Sounds like a good system! 💪
It’s actually very comforting to me to hear how many of you guys have also been slumping. I’ve just gotten back into planning and started making proper pretty layouts for the first time ever, and February was my first real slump. It’s good to know that it just happens to everyone sometimes, and February is a weird transitional time of the year, and we’re all in this together and a slump is not gonna stop us
That's right 💪 the slump is not forever 👏
Omg I thought it was only me who’s had a slumpy feb. I’m soo comforted by this comment section and how many ppl are feeling the same. Hugs to all, may we all feel energetic and motivated whenever we feel like 💞💞💞💞
Even if I won't use most of these spreads it's still inspiring to watch your videos ❤ it is shown that we can ( and should) adjust bujo for our needs 😊 and decorations are so pretty 🤩
Usually February is a difficult month for me mental-health-wise (a lot of sad anniversaries in late January and early February, and also I always have a stressful January at my job), so I don't use my journal as much, or at all. I figured I'd stop fighting it, and just make it minimum effort. First thing was to stop setting goals for February, the only goal is to get myself in better shape for March.
That's a good way to approach it 💪
I'm proud of you for recycling the book. The cover is fabulous also!❤
I've also had a meh journal month for February! Love the look with the aged book paper. I also have no issue in ripping pages out of a book, heck, I had a spare new book and ripped the pages out to make a background board. Some people are just very precious about things and that's okay. Us creatives tend to use all the things available though! Absolutely love your content planning hub for cycle three. Erin is the reason I implemented a content planner in my every day journal and it's been so helpful. But I like this evolution, and will have to see how Erin is doing it in hers too!
I really appreciate your way of explaining the choices you make in your journal, how it functions or could work better for you, and how you aim to make that achievable by the amount of effort you may need to put in first. It's wonderful insight, and I enjoy spending the time watching your videos as I often come away with more food for thought in my own systems.
This year I made it a goal to decorate my bullet journal spreads more cohesively and completely, and so far I've done so well. But I have found myself in a planning slump these last few weeks, my spreads are the least filled out than they have been in over 6 months. I'm trying to get motivated to get my March setup started, but I've gotten burnt out on my yearly goal spreads since I just haven't gotten into actually putting action into my goals :/ hoping to get back into the swing of things with March!
I feel like I have found my groove in my journals in February. My March is blue too...but I was thinking Pisces and fish...and so I decided on an Ocean Theme.
Oh nice! Sounds like a great theme 😄
I like the yellowness of the book pages! Ive been keeping my eye out for any old book with small text i could use in the same manner
Yeah this one had great colouration 💪 hopefully you can find a suitable one for you 😄🤞
I haven’t been in a planning slump, but January and February sucks for teachers. So I’ve just been hoping for them to end. I’m also switching to a new journal in March that has 160gsm (currently in 100) and I can’t wait to be in my new journal. So that’s another reason I’m just excited for February to be done. And the snow. I want the snow gone. 😂
1:25 🤣 Ah, the problem with text washi tapes, too. I literally have only 1 washi tape with text that I trust.
I've enjoyed & found value in your Instagram reels, so I'm grateful you've set that challenge for yourself 😊
Aww yay! I’m glad there’s payoff to them 😄💜
Love how you incorporated the book pages!
Thanks! 😄💜 I think they fit well 👌
10:21 I’m so familiar with this situation when there is no strong desire to fill out a planner, but this month I didn’t feel that way, which I’m very happy about, it’s still a pleasant activity 🥰
Oh nice! Glad your desire was higher this month 😄💜
I've found my journaling (and creative energy in general) to be kind of blah in February as well. Last year I was wildly productive in February after a non-productive January. This year I was productive in January and then have been less so this month so far. I'm trying to get back into things this week. I preset my entire first 6 months in my journal, so all I really need to do is drop in and fill out my daily boxes and some trackers. I'm doing it, but it's still been more basic than I'd like. I think part of the problem is I've started re-evaluating how I want to plan (going to move more to quarterly planning and then breaking that into more weekly planning rather than monthly planning since I like focusing on Monday-Sunday blocks and when months start and end in the middle I end up debating whether to put them in twice or just split between the monthly setups. So, knowing that I want to change things but don't want to waste what I've already done might be contributing to not being as good about my journals. But I think it's also that I'm not doing the things I typically use my journal for (mostly writing tracking and things like that).
I had my journal slump in December. Then got back in the swing in January and February is one of my favorite layouts I've done!
Ups and downs are inevitable sometimes. Glad you got back up again
Nice! 😄 I'm hoping I can turn mine around quickly 🤞
@@EnabiSeira Focused on a CMYK palette and had a fun illustration with really nice structure to the layouts :)
@@MoCraft_20 it sounds cool :D
Persnickety Biscuit ….love it
I think the start of a new year (and new journal) is like a caffeine rush. So much creative energy and so much emotion. I think it’s totally normal to have a “creativity crash” after high intensity period. For me the creative energy highs, followed by creativity crashes are a pretty common ADHD thing. I heard someone once described adhd as an “energy quilt”, with pieces of high energy, medium and low energy tasks/activities all stitched together.
I like this theme very much - I find it just beautiful.
I do not use my journal that much when work or private projects go too busy. But I try to resume the most important things on sunday, my reset day. It just helps me to have my „soul catching up“ with what happend during the busy week. Takes quite some time though (1-2 hours) - but for me it‘s worth it.
My theme for March is also butterflies and I’m also using stickers, not because I’m persnickety (my new favourite word!) but because I literally cannot draw! Plus my setup ended up dark and brooding as I used deep plums and violets. Much prefer your brighter, lighter setup! C’est la vie 🤷🏾♀️
I feel like I reversed Feb. and Mar. to what most people would. I had sunflowers and ballerina's (ballet day's Feb. 7th) in peaches, greens, yellows, and browns. I decided to do "smart and sexy" for Mar. so I have a bunch of pinks, taupe's, golds, and lace! Butterflies in purples, blues, golds, and kraft paper was my yearly theme in both my long term and start of journal!
Oh those sound like great themes! 😄💜
Butterflies and chickens both have wings!
I worked in a bookstore, mass market paperbacks don't get shipped back if they don't sell, the cover is ripped off and sent back, the rest just goes in the dumpster (although hopefully they have started to recycle them instead sometime in the past 14 years).
Haha I'll take it 😝 good connection 👏
Yes! I didn't even get February set up until the 10th. And I'm having to really make myself use it. Love your March setup. I haven't started mine yet.
Thanks Barbie! 💜 Still a bit of time until the new month 🤞
Yesssss blue march!!! Lessgoooooo
Heck yeah! 💪💙
loved this set up! i’m doing a daisy theme that has blue and craft in it as well! i sketched in my layouts with a few changes as i felt like February was a rut in terms of clarity of goals
Seems like a few of us felt the dip in February! Daisies sounds like a great theme 😄
Same! I've also not been motivated to get into my journal this month!
Weird that it's hit so many of us! 💜
I use book paper for creative projects as well. Recently for my reading journal for example. And I am in journal slumber too. But this is because of I have slumber in general this month 😅
Not just in planning but as a whole I’ve been in a slump. I started so well with new medication for my fibro pain so I can function like an actual human but then had some hella stress one or two days early on in February and it just derailed everything
Thankfully it seems to be easing a bit so I’m getting back into the groove but my planner is still definitely on the back burner for the moment until I’m caught up on work and house shit 😂
I feel you :( started the year so well, got through about 1.5 months of the POTS protocol, cooking heaps, reading a lot, then bang debilitating fatigue hits again like a tonne of bricks
Hey just wanted to check in with you beautiful people, how are you doing? Did things improve? Sending hugs your way ❤
@csiguszrebi you're so sweet! Things were starting to get better and then I got covid 🥲 but pushing through it
@@hannahmorgan4743 Ah hope you feel better soon! Rest up ✨
I actually have a newer edition of this book 😂 cookbook junkie here. But I love the idea of using actual books for deco 🩵
Haha oh that's awesome! 😂
February is definitely slump month for me and my planner. I already know I'm calling it quits on Feb and just waiting for March to come get me back on track. Glad I'm not the only one 😊
Been struggling to get back into my routine after a long vacation and a difficult time with my Family. Couldn't write so I came to check your feed and forgot how relaxed your voice makes me feel. I feel like my sanity is slowly soaking back into me. xD
i definitely went through a slump late january to early february… but now i feel like i’m back on track.
funnily enough march is green for me next month. 😂
Glad you're back on track 👌 haha, March being green is very on trend 😝
March is gonna be blue in my reading journal! I do a scrapbook-type theme each month with a color vibe, January was orange/tan and February was green.
Heck yeah for team blue 💪
Your next cycle begins on my birthday! Hope that will bring you some good journal fortune somehow 😂 since february is my birthday month, it always feels special to me, but I understand why many people come into a slump. All that new year freshness is gone and january challenges have ended and kind of taken motivation with them, it's a short month so you don't have as much time to complete any monthly goals or quotas. Here in central europe the weather is bad, everybody is ill and it seems like most people are just waiting for march and the season to change. It's been a rough month this year for me too. Fingers crossed it will get better!
Those reasons make a lot of sense 👏 Channelling your birthday energy to make cycle 3 awesome 😝💜 Happy birthday for next week!
its been the great big MEH all of Feb for me. I'm hoping the 13th week reset helps reset my brain, body, emotions, life, etc. for the next quarter. I know you plan on taking the 13th week off for yourself, but do you intend on doing a layout video for how you're going to be tackling it?
I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to journal. But I need to be more intentional about planning and journaling in order to be productive rather than just busy.
Yeah I find that whenever I'm busy, I drop my journal. But that's when I'd most benefit from tackling my stuff with a plan 😂😅
The glue sticks that wrinkle paper are water based. There are wrinkle free alcohol-based glue sticks. My favourite is the Kokuyo Gloo stick.
I'll have to look into this 👀 Thanks for the info! 💜
Feeling the not wanting to be in Journal - still not back in my house after the storm event and my original plans for this year were declutter and house overhaul.
I’ve been slumping a little too. I think part of it is looking forward to starting a new journal soon. I’ve got maybe one or two months left before I try a square for the first time.
Totally know that kind of slump! 💜
I’m coming back from about a 4-month bujo slump and I’ve gone through three different weekly spreads the last couple weeks. I was trying a fortnightly spread for the first couple weeks of February, which failed miserably. This last one, I went back to a basic one that was my main go-to weekly back in 2017 and it’s finally working for me; not perfectly but it’s manageable enough to build onto it next week to hopefully make it a little better. Nothing like getting back to the basics🎉
I actually really like how my February setup turned out, despite having reservations about the design when I was coming up with the color palette. But while I've kept up with my personal journal just fine, for some reason I haven't been able to do the same with my work journal. Digital planning is just working better for me right now. I had to switch it up because I had too many small tasks going on, so I needed the flexibility of being able to move tasks around.
March was already planned for me by A&O (I'm using the February kit for March bc.... shamrocks) which is good because my planning time is extremely limited right now. Training a new puppy is a time suck 😅
Haha hope your new puppy is doing well! 💜 I think the tough thing is that I really quite liked my Feb setup, but I still didn't end up using it. Maybe because ~life~ happened 😂
I’m not a butterfly fan but love how you used them with the washi and book pages, it is so pretty! ❤
What is your yearly theme challenge?
I don't have a yearly challenge this year; that was more of a one-off fun adventure 😊💜 Glad you liked the setup even it butterflies aren't really for you! 😄
Yeah, I was not super organized or productive in February, either, since I came down with Covid on February 1st and was pretty sick up until really this week. So productive and journal use for this month kind of went out the window, even though I was more or less working through most of it. I never even got anything setup because I had planned to do it that first weekend. Hopefully March can be a little more...energetic.
Hope you're feeling better! Sounds super rough 💜
Jes - I love you but March is green 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Neverrrrr!
I had the same kind of vibe in February. I am just getting back into bujo tho, so there is that. But also I think part of it was that I set up February with Mardi Gras colors and theme, and then after Mardi Gras (13th), it just felt off.
This is gorgeous... very much of a style that is vintage-y that I really love
Glad you liked it! I think it's going to be a fun month 😄💜
Right now, I can't decide if I love you or hate you for exposing me to Journal say and these blue butterfly stickers. Blue Morpho's are my favorite butterfly and one of my Spirit animals.
I have been feeling very blah for just about everything in Feb. Nothing gives me happy feelings or excitement. I call it the Feb. winter grays. The sun is coming out sooner, but it's still so bloody cold. So, Yes, I get it! Christina 🦝
Glad (more like "glad") people understand or can relate to the feeling! It's summer here, but I'm not a heat lover, so maybe that's made it worse 😂
Hello jashii, I wanted if you could kindly try this novel concept of time ladder (weeklies) or ( dailies) and see how it comes across to you. It's a wonderful concept, but i haven't seen many bullet journal enthusiasts try it. Also if you can incorporate your own new ideas to try it. It takes less space and is very innovative concept.
As someone who is born in March, I appreciate you not using green. That was my biggest gripe with regular planners was that people associate green with March and I usually do every color but green 😂😂😂
Always green 😂 I'm just working against the trend, haha 💜
Totally! I have completely abandoned my journal this last week and a half or so. I’m flying but the seat of my pants 👖 😂
Know that feeling well 😂
what a gorgeous spread, I love it ☺☺☺
Thanks! 😄💜
I was in a bit of a planner slump in January, and a lot of it had to do with not being prepared ahead of time (holidays, etc) so I was trying to come up with action steps for goals I hadn't set yet. I combated this by choosing a silly frogs theme for February (it is leap year, after all), and I've been having fun doodling water lilies and frogs. I had all my monthly pages set up before February hit, and that made a huge difference.
Are you still looking for goal course students? I have some mixed issues (primarily health related) that have really undercut my goals throughout my life, and I've been trying to do better, but it's been something of a slog. That might make me a perfect candidate if you're looking for people with "issues", or it might make me a horrible one. I'm also disabled, so when I'm not in bed, I have time on my hands. I haven't joined your Discord yet because that's one of my time-sink areas, and I'm trying not to lose too much time this winter.
I haven't decided yet how I was going to approach the founding members system, but more likely than not it'll end up being offered first to members on YT and Patreon, and then from there offered to my email list. There will certainly be more details to come about it though! 💜 Love the frogs theme for a Feb leap year, that's great 😄
i love the book pages with the butterflies! so pretty!
Thanks! I think they worked really well together 😄💜
Blueeeeeeeeee March!
Gonna make it a thing 😛 even if forcibly 😂
That’s such a great take on the content planner! Might steal it haha - are we playing content planner tennis? 😍
I'm all about it 😂💜
Love this setup! 🦋🦋🦋
Glad you liked it! 😄💜
I think the summer heat tends to affect my use of my bujo - when its hot, I tend not to. But I would be interested if Northern Hemisphere people have the same slump as well?
Yeah it's interesting how weather can affect us like that too! 💜
Persnickety biscuit... Me too!
Glad I'm not alone with it 😂💜
@JashiiCorrin do you think you will be able to transition back to an A5 with all the space you are using for you set ups now?
It will certainly be quite a change up 😝 I do think it'll be okay though. A5 is the tried and true 😛 buuuuut we'll have to wait and see, haha
You asked for video ideas and you may have done this and I have not found it yet...but, different fonts you use like for headers and subheadings. I am way out of practice and I have seen many examples. I just learn better if u visually watch someone draw/do it, etc. If you have done this, I will just keeplooking...Thanks! Team Replay:)
From the last week of January to yesterday, I didn't even touch my BuJo, I was on work holidays, and also, I broke up with my partner, I forced myself to come back because I came back to work and also I need the creative time!
Sounds like a rough time, hope you're doing okay! 💜🤞
Thanks! Luckily, I have my friends and family who are with me in these rough times
I've now watched your setup 3 times and I still laugh when you say that your journal now has the words "fat, blood, and turkey" in it. It turned out great!
Haha 😂 Glad you liked it! 💜
Do you worry about the acid in the yellowed paper affecting your journal?
Honestly I hadn't even thought about it 😝 but I'm interested to see how it ends up holding up over time now 🤔 not too worried though 😊
Anyone know how to actually stick with this and habits in general?
I found I was great during January, but February was disappointing. I pretty much just reverted back to how I was last year.
I want to be better in March, but I'm just worried that this is just another case of "trying something new, getting bored of the novelty, need something new" thing.
But then, maybe the solution is to simply make each layout very different... Idk.
I broke my ankle on a trip on February 13 and didn't touch my journal the whole rest of the month!
Oooof! Hope you’re doing okay 😅💜
Distraction couter +1? 😆
I need a graphic for it 😂
Yes, March should be blue. Trust me I'm a pink-loving March baby, but blue is the colour for March. Not yellow, not green, and definitely not beige, but "Blue".
I’ma have to try keep with this Blue March system 👏
@@JashiiCorrin 😂
Total slump since December. I didnt even do any filming or content creating! Still haven't finished set up in the front, didnt bother with a January and my February tracks two weeks... you are not on your own!
It's nice to have other people who understand, even if it's a lame situation for all of us 😝💜
