I've recently found you and am working my way back through your content. You are a ray of sunshine and its so refreshing to listen to you and your mum. Your both wonderful people. I hope your second jab goes well. I too had a terrible reaction, in fact I've never experienced anything like it and I actually thought I may not recover. Anyway just wanted to say I am so glad I found your channel ❤️
I am a retired lady in my 70's from Long Island, NY (did I hear you mention that you have been there?). I recently discovered your channel and am having a wonderful time binge-watching all your videos. Your mom and yourself are adorable and now I am buying lots of books! Thank you so much for making these videos, don't ever stop, I look forward to them every day. I wish you great success in your goals. (Tess of the d'Urbervilles is also one of my favorite books. Read it 3 times). If I lived near you we would probably be friends, I love all the same things i.e. books, antiques, shopping, pretty clothing, tea time!
Such a warm and comfortable video, it’s like sitting in a chair with you and having a long overdue visit with friends. I was nodding my head with Donna so much with the talk about seasons and winter. Next year I’ll be moving back home near family which is in Central New York State. With all four seasons and I’ve missed it so much. I’ve lived in Florida for 25 years and so many times people are aghast when they hear I’m leaving here when I retire and I remind them winter won’t be so bad when I don’t have to leave early in the morning to get to work on time. I hope you have an easy time with your second shot, Miranda. And thank you and Donna so much for doing this, it’s been just so lovely💕💕
I'm a Londoner but moved to beautiful York just over 22 years ago. I would never move back but I still miss the tube too! What still amazes me is how far apart places in Yorkshire are and the time it takes to get anywhere. York to Harrogate takes forever! Love your chats with your mum - you are so lucky to be together.
"I want Mayfair" - that was brilliant Miranda and Donna. I'm not quite sure I'm allowed to let you have Mayfair and Marlebone but I think it won't take you long, now we can get about with a greater amount of freedom, to have huge swathes of Yorkshire that are yours too but that was both an interesting and very entertaining answer, thank you. I now have places in both London and Yorkshire to add to my want to visit list. One thing we can be thankful for is that your move to Yorkshire has meant you have shared some wonderful videos with us and it is really fun getting to know your new area with you both. Have a great week, Teresa 🏝
Very interesting to hear your reflections after a year in Yorkshire. I really enjoy the video chats you do with your lovely mum, it’s so delightful to see such a wonderful, close mother-daughter relationship, and you both have such interesting things to say. I really admire the positive attitude to life you and your mum both have,. You both look lovely in the video by the way! I hope the second vaccine doesn’t affect you like the first one did, hope all goes well this time and you feel fine!
Thank you for sharing your reflections and being honest about what you miss. With so much to explore, I'm sure you will be too busy to miss very much at all. I look forward to many more vlogs from your new home.
Hello from Texas. I've just discovered your channel and it is so wonderful. I also have a shared passion for baking, books, china and beautiful flowers. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
I enjoy you two so much. Thank you for sharing a part of your life. Good luck with your next vaccination.. My very best wishes to you both and see you when you come back. Love all the flowers you show and I love your bookshelves. 📚💐😘
Sincerely hope your second jab went well Miranda and that you are feeling okay. Will be happy to see you and Donna again whenever that is - rest well. You mentioned you have been to Whitby, but wonder if you have made it to Robin Hood Bay? A few years ago I did the coast-to-coast walk from St Bees in Cumbria to RHB, and it was such a lovely place to end the hike. And great for street photography I think! 😊 Best wishes. 🦊📚🤓
Awww this was so lovely. I’m a Yorkshire lass myself and I firmly believe it’s ‘gods own country’. I think you’re both so lovely and adore your videos 🌈💕xx
I feel sometimes we appreciate but can’t fully integrate the awe and sense of wonderment that others have of our circumstances because we are looking at it from the inside where real life happens. I worked in the beautiful offices in Disneyland and people just though that was so magical! I have to say, it was at times, but yes even Disneyland has their “Grumpies” just like in Snow White haha 😂 I can only fantasize about living in Yorkshire. I think of the book, All Creatures Great and Small and the whimsical shops and the epitome of English Country beauty and charm. So thank you for sharing what must be the closest real life can come to living in an enchanting world. At the same time, I can appreciate that it’s still real life, making the contrast almost seem comical at times 😆
Hi Miranda and Donna! I am so enjoying this lovely video! Yorkshire has been high on my list of places to visit when I go on my lifelong dream trip to Great Britain one of these days (I'm in the mountains of Virginia.) In the meantime I'll have to enjoy it through your videos, the classic show (and books!) All Creatures Great and Small, and Heartbeat which my husband and I have been enjoying. Love all the beauty found in Yorkshire. I'll be praying for both of you to feel well after your 2nd vaccines! ❤️🌻
Good luck with your 2nd vaccine. I love Fountains Abbey. Don’t know if you’ve ever visited Nostell Priory which is near Wakefield. It’s National Trust and I really like that also. And Brodsworth Hall near Doncaster is English Heritage and the gardens there are spectacular - I particularly like their fern garden and have some wonderful pictures of my children in it. Highly recommend if you fancy nipping down a bit into South Yorkshire. I’m in Derbyshire so for me they are easy to get to for a day out xx
When you're next in Haworth there is a beautiful chocolate shop (And Chocolate) you should try and I know you've previously mentioned the station, but a ride on the Keighley and Worth Valley train is worthwhile and you can get some good photos of the train on the bridge at the station x
That was so interesting Miranda & Donna, thank you. I love your videos & really look forward to them. Hope all will be well after your second jab......plenty of TLC from your mum, I’m sure! And lastly........I think it’s absolutely right that you share only what you’re comfortable with........we all appreciate your generosity. Bless you both.
It felt like the most natural decision for you two to move to Yorkshire, but when you answered what you miss about London I realized it must have taken quite some courage, sometimes it’s good to be pushed out of your comfort zone, it certainly payed off! Thanks for sharing the country joy 😊🌸
Great video enjoyed it so much. I’m originally from East Yorkshire a village called Thorngumbald. Hope you’re ok after your second vaccine and your mum is ok. Thanks again.
I agree that I hope you are well after the shot. One thing I have wondered about every time I see it is the wallpaper that I think is in your bedroom. It looks stunning. We moved to our little 2 acres and built our little home in the woods 30 years ago. I feel so lucky with the lockdown that I have trees and a creek to go outside into. I have felt lucky everyday I have lived here. Being older I have thought it would be nice to be able to walk to downtown, it is 5 miles from my house. It would be very Pride and Prejudice to walk it but the way is on a fairly busy road.
Really enjoyed hearing about your relocation, one year on. Great that you're so happy in Yorkshire. - I spent several years of my childhood in Harrogate and love the town. I really liked Donna's comment that, whatever age you are, it's good to be open to embracing change and new adventures! Wise advice! Take care, Miranda, hope all goes smoothly second time around.
Hope your second dose goes smoothly, Miranda. Thank you very much for this q&a session. Because I look forward to your videos, this lovely chat was a complement to them. I appreciate this very much as well as your hard work editing and preparing your channel.
Hello Donna and Miranda. Thank you for this lovely video. I am so glad that you are happy living in Yorkshire together. I hope you are getting well after your vaccine. Have a nice weekend!
This video was both entertaining, informative, and delightful, as always! If you ever consider another vlog when you answer questions, I would love hearing what you both liked and disliked the most about living in the US. I would definitely find that interesting.
For ruined abbeys (in North Yorkshire) I recommend Fountains, Rievaulx, Byland and Kirkham Abbey. They all have beautiful circular walks around/near them too. I moved to York nearly 3 years ago and I love exploring Yorkshire so much!
Really, really enjoyed your answers, and can relate to much you say... (As a born Londoner and then making Bath a home for almost 20 years, now living in the wilds of west Cornwall, I do really miss the anonymity and sounds of city living, and the mix of people and different outlooks. But coastal living has its enchantments).
It is such a pleasure to discover Yorkshire with you. I can't wait for your seaside adventures. Sending all good thoughts your way and hoping you sail through next week with no side effects other than relief. xx
Thank you both so very much for your podcasts and videos this year. They have brought so much joy through your tips and opinions in a time when we have all been in need of some extra happiness. Good luck with jab two!
Discovered your channel a few weeks ago and I’m loving your videos. You both make me smile so much. I hope that your second vaccine went well Miranda. C x
Love this! You’re making me homesick for London with your wishlist - I’m with Donna, I’d definitely love to be able to visit Marylebone High St. Looking forward to seeing your future Yorkshire adventures! If you’ve not been, I’d definitely recommend Helmsley - the walled garden is particularly lovely.
Looking for Yorkshire restaurants - have you tried the Star Inn? The original is is Harome near Helmsley, one in York City (Star Inn the City) by the river and one in Whitby (Star Inn the Harbour). Harome is my favourite!
Interesting and enjoyable, as always. Hope all goes well with your second jab, even if you do feel a tad out of sorts, it’ll be a great feeling knowing that’s it done and you don’t have to go through it again ! Take care lovely ladies 😘
What an interesting discussion, and some very imaginative questions too. Miranda I sincerely hope you are well after your second vaccination and I am so glad you are taking time to recover from it. One of my favourite Abbeys to visit in the Dales is Jervaulx, it is so beautiful and atmospheric. There is (or was last time I was there!), a very pretty tearoom just beside, across the road. X
The British Museum!!! I’d really like to be closer to The British Museum… I’m in Scotland 🏴 but I have family in Yorkshire so I could easily pop in.
Good Luck with your jab! I'm having my second jab this weekend and was so poorly with the first one-vertigo- that I've made arrangements to lie on the sofa for the full week...just in case!
Miranda, would you mind writing out the couple of places in London you mentioned that you liked? The places in Mayfair, the supper club? TO ME you have an accent, and sometimes I struggle to understand a word here and there ... and I cannot make out the name(s). Thank you, in case you have time. Thank you either way!
Quo Vadis is the restaurant/ club. Hatchards, Piccadilly Waterstones, Green House Restaurant, Heywood Hill are the others mentioned. But now I am truly signing off!!
Hope you’re ok after your second shot, Miranda, I was just like you - the first one was a nightmare but the second one I never had the slightest reaction x
@@MirandaMills I also had Astra Z. for my first shot and was really sick with it for a while and then a couple of weeks later out of no where the same symptoms came again and I was back in bed for another round. Next week I’m getting my second shot and here in Canada they are encouraging us to get Pfizer or Moderna for our second shot if we had Astra for our first (mixed vaccines). It’s a bit like being a guinea pig but we’ll muddle through. Hope you do well with your second vaccination and thank you for your great video. Yorkshire looks so beautiful.

Great minds. As soon as you said what one thing you’d have from London, mine was Marylebone High Street for Daunts ☺️. Lovely video thanks
Book lovers will have to visit hay on wye the town has 20 book shops 😀
Enjoyed this questions and answers session with you and your mum. Hope all goes well with your second vaccine Miranda.
❤️enjoyed hearing all the questions and Answers some I have heard before but still loved watching this .thank you 🙂

You referenced a previous Q&A but I don’t see it linked. Where would I find it? Thx
Mayfair in Yorkshire sounds like paradise! Thanks for this you two! Good luck with the vaccine - mine is next week too.
❤
Hope you'll feel okay after your second vaccine Miranda, take plenty of time to rest up :)
Thanks so much! Xxx

Is Donna retired now, or still working, but from home?
will you be affecting a yorkshire accent sooner than you think?...

Which Covid vaccine did you receive (Pfizer, Moderna ...)? Wishing you an easy time of it, Miranda, this go around.
