At our church, we store decorations by location, and included a photograph of what it looks like put together. That way if somebody is decorating who has not helped before it gives them ideas for each item.
Leslie, considering what you have to deal with in your personal life, I find it astounding that you have the time and wherewithal to offer us these wonderful tips! Your home looks beautiful!
Love the idea about storing stuff by site where it is used! I was storing by category, no more. Also, love the wrapping paper storage with tape and scissors. I would add a marking pen. Thank you Leslie, as always, thinking outside the box!
I roll up a brown paper bag from the grocery store and wrap my Christmas lights around it. Have done it that way for 20 years..same bag for each string ;) - Great tips, Leslie!
Really appreciated the wrapping paper in a garment bag idea. I think I'll use it. I've been using tall waste baskets. But this idea would clear floor space. Thank you!
Perfect ideas and ones that most all of us can get some good use out of.....love the hanging bag as well. Love the storing things from the mantle into the Christmas decor bin and then just replacing it. Bravo Leslie!!! Loved these tips, and YES on Clear Containers!!! Win~~
Great tips like always, Leslie. You didn't really mention the racks that you have for storing the totes on, but I like the 1"x4" planks rather than solid flat wood. I am going to be making storage areas in my attic, I don't have a basement in NWA, and I have been looking at different storage solutions, I like yours best. Also, when you are putting away your rolls of wrapping paper, get out more toilet paper or paper towel cardboards. I cut along one side of the tube so i can slip it over each end to hold the cut edge onto the roll. It keeps the edges from getting wrinkled and torn.
Great tips for Christmas storage! Love the idea of garment bags for wreath and wrapping paper storage. Anything to get boxes off the floor of the attic to make it easier to move around without tripping on something is great!
I picked up a wine/liquor cardboard box from Aldi or liquor store. My tree has so many fragile ornaments that I use coffee filters and paper towels to wrap and place in bottle slots of box. It offers lots of protection and I use filters and paper towels, tissue paper over and over. Easy and protects! Masking tape is what I use for labels. Thanks for more great storage ideas. For some reason I did not put everyday decor in 🎄bins instead using Amazon boxes. I’ve created a mess for myself with bins and boxes to deal with now!
Leslie I enjoyed your tips, especially the two zip clothes storage bag for gift wrapping and the for wreath storage!! Amazing, I will be on the look out for a couple of those! I hope you and Jason had a wonderful Christmas and pray y’all have an Abundantly Blessed New Year!❤❤
A sturdy piece of flat cardboard works perfectly to take up less room to neatly store Christmas lights. My Christmas decor goes into bright red bins I get at Walmart. I have orange ones for Fall, and pink for Spring and Summer. I always use zip top bags to store decor. I have found extra large ones at dollar stores. We keep reusing decorative gift boxes and bags from the dollar stores of course. For pillows I buy seasonal/holiday pillow covers from Temu, so one set of pillows is all we need, and I just keep changing out the covers. Paper towel cardboard rolls are also great for lights and garlands. I use oa roll of towels to cushion fragile items, then the roll for garland and lights. 😘❄☃🎉
Love the thought of using garment bags for wreaths will take up less room than in tubs where different sizes don’t fit same container. Also like the idea of storing items by location. We have no attic or basement space so it’s hard to find ideas of how to store, with our specialty dishes we bought special storage containers for those and it takes up less space and protects them. We don’t take Christmas down until usually January 6th.
Omg Leslie! I was fighing with the question do I store everything this year by location or different?? Thank you! Location it is. Thank you for all the wonderful tips. Wishing you and Jason a healthy and happy 2024. ❤❤🎉🎉
I just sat down from putting all of our Christmas Decorations away. 😂😜 We did leave the 3 🌲 up until the weekend though, to keep some of the festivities alive!! Thank you for sharing!!❤❤❤
✅✅✅ Year before last I took your advice and used clear storage boxes, toilet paper roll for lights, and freezer bags. ❤. And I took a picture of my Christmas tree and I knew how to decorate this year . A big thanks 😊 ❤❤ I also cleaned out some decor like you said. This week I was looking for something in my armoire and my husband asked me what was I selling 😂
Great ideas. I got the wrapping paper in the garment bag hack from you and it's perfect. Tape, bows and ribbon thrown in the bottom and done! Thank you.
Great tips!! I have this week yet until New Years before I start taking stuff down, but I too have found the better I do putting things away, the better I am set up for next year.
I store by location as well as take pictures of how everything was decorated. I also set up reminders for next year for purchasing silk flowers, broken ornaments, etc for next year
I have a table in the garage with all my normal decor on it amongst all the empty Christmas tubs!🤯 What a great idea to put the stuff in the empty tubs! 😂 Thank you
I'm late watching this video, can you do a video of the way you place all of your decor in the attic. I just love the large tall attics. I store in my attic but it's by no means large and tall. Thanks
Always great storage ideas! Thanks so much. Sad, Christmas is over though. Will decorate for Winter. Are you decorating for Winter? I love your beautiful top!
Great tips Leslie . My husband and I have been trying to de clutter and get rid of things. I am going to check the after Christmas sales looking for greens and things I can use for Christmas and all throughout the winter months . Then at Christmas I can add berries and ornaments or say pinecones specifically for Christmas
Thank you for the great ideas, Leslie. I just ordered some garment bags from Amazon. I'm going to use them for wreaths, too! Wishing you and Jason a Wonderful New Year!❤
Hi Leslie! I'm Jeff in central Pennsylvania. I've watched probably a dozen of your videos now and this one got you another subscriber. And I'm pretty sure we'd fast become Christmas buddies. I already use some of the hacks you suggest like taking photos (4:08), utilising same boxes for storage (6:28), and saving original boxes (7:38), and will definitely use the rest of your ideas and suggestions. Thank you! Although I'm kind of wondering...are you really putting everything away already?
Hi Jeff! So happy you subscribed! I am actually all done, and everything is put away! I started decorating in October in order to make Christmas videos, so I'm super excited to have my house back in time for the new year! 😊
@ACharmingAbode I also start early in order to "be ready," and begin taking it down mid- to end of January. It really brings me so much joy having it on display, plus it's a lot of work to leave it out for only a few weeks.
At our church, we store decorations by location, and included a photograph of what it looks like put together. That way if somebody is decorating who has not helped before it gives them ideas for each item.
Never thought of the garment bag hacks. Thanks! And Happy New Year! ~ Crystal

add the tags and ribbons in there too and you have a complete wrapping kit in one place!
and tags, ribbon and bows!
I love storing by location. When it's time to decorate (& undecorated), you only need to work on one box at a time.
I roll up a brown paper bag from the grocery store and wrap my Christmas lights around it. Have done it that way for 20 years..same bag for each string ;) - Great tips, Leslie!
Great tips. When she mentioned the toilet paper rolls I thought about storing small ornaments in them
Great ideas!! I totally agree that "by locations" is easier! Taking the time to store away nicely helps so much the next year!!!
you have an AMAZING attic! i have storage space about the size of a half dollar! lol. but, it's fun to watch and dream 🙂
I haven’t finished attic, which has no storage at all, so I have to take all my stuff out to a storage shed in the backyard. Big hassle.
Painters tape! Great idea! I have so much to rearrange into the bins, that this is an excellent idea for labeling. Thank you!
Thank you Leslie… this was fun, lots of good ideas! Dont forget self care… please put your needs first!!!
Really appreciated the wrapping paper in a garment bag idea. I think I'll use it. I've been using tall waste baskets. But this idea would clear floor space. Thank you!
Taking photos of all my seasonal decor has helped me tremendously! Really great tips! Thanks 😊
I have never had such a great holiday storage video seriously wow thank you ❤ seriously every single tip felt fresh for me 🙏
This was a great video. I loved all the tips and will definitely be borrowing them as I take down all our Christmas decorations.
So many great ideas! I am going to start tomorrow. I sure wish it was as fun taking it all down as it was putting them up.
Love the wrapping paper in the garment bag idea.

These are wonderful trips or storing Christmas. I also do this with each holiday to decorate.
I did the toilet paper roll hack and placed my decor back in bins with the painters tape so next year will be so much easier. Such great ideas.
"Christmas pictures" It's another world 🤯
Great ideas Leslie. You are so adorable and always positive. You are fun to watch. You are uplifting! 😍
Your storage area, is a dream! ❤😅

Very clever ideas. I especially like saving via location versus category.

I’m in a new home so I took photos. But, I also know what worked (or didn’t) and what I want to purchase for next year.
