  • This algebra 2 and precalculus video tutorial explains how to find the inverse of a function using a very simple process. First, replace f(x) with y. Next, switch x with y. Finally, solve for the y variable and that's it. This video contains examples and practice problems that include fractions, radicals, square roots, cube roots, linear functions, and cubic functions.

All my friends seem to already understand this concept and I felt really left behind and shameful that I didn't quite understand this concept yet. I didn't expect watching an 11 minute explanation video on youtube would give me my sudden eureka moment, but I absolutely did and it felt otherwordly. It just goes to show that you don't really need to spend a ton of money on tutoring to be able to understand and learn things. It's currently 11PM and I have a math test tomorrow so watching this is really helpful. I will be forever in your debt.

After the military I decided I wanted to go to college. I'm in my late 20s in remedial math. I thought I was going to major in CS. Although I have an A in my last remedial class, I think I'm too dumb to continue in CS. I'll be switching my major to something in the humanities. Sometimes my math homework makes me want to cry. I'm done trying to force something that I'm just not very good at. I'm always the top student in my liberal arts classes. I guess I'll stick to what I'm just naturally good at.

Usually I wouldn't be watching these videos since I understand in class, but online classes are burning me out, which made me go here. My previous year's math teacher attaches your videos for us to learn our lessons in advanced. This year, my current teacher only just does lectures and sends us PowerPoint copies of the lectures (not saying that it's wrong, because that's my current teacher's teaching style).
Like I said earlier, I usually understand the lessons once discussed, but online class burn out didn't make me listen to class at all, or motivated or keep me focused. And that burn out brought me back here.
I would like to sat the videos may be simple, but I find it entertaining with how simple it is.
Anyways, I better stop typing this comment before I distract myself from this lesson since my homework for this is due for today!

AniJam you reverse the numerator and the denominator and if there is like subtraction or addition you just do the opposite of what it is. So if it was like y= 3/5x + 7 it would be y= 5/3x - 7
