First mission is the normal mission. Second mission is collect 100 rings. Third mission is find the lost chao. Fourth mission is a timed version of the first mission. Last mission is hard mode. Unlocks are an emblem for all A Ranks which is why the counter goes from 57 to 59, Sonic's second kart, and the Sonic Wind costume for 2P mode.

For any that say he's hacking, no he's not. He's just better at the game than all of us. Believe me I'm pretty good at this game at getting A-ranks first try, but I never grew up with Sonic that much so I still struggle even after I have half the emblems.

@@supermegadong7597 Yeah, I found the treasure hunting stages to be the easiest to 100%, The mech-shooting stages hard, while the speed stages the most bs you'll ever experience in a Sonic game or any videogame.
I appreciate that this isn't a TAS level flawless demonstration, because I was always under the impression that you had to play near perfectly to get these ranks as a kid. It looks like the A ranks are granted based on how cool you perform the stage overall lol

It is more about a balance of getting lots of rings, enemy kill combos and good time. Killing the gold beetle robot helps as well.

I've never in my long life of living made an "A" in a Dreamcast Sonic game. The newer games are ways easier though.
The new games are too easy in my opinion.
SA2's ranking system is brutal compared to future games.

@@DangerXCV True for the most part. But hey, they also deserve respect for experimenting on different things to see what works and what doesn't.
Big and Amy's gameplay didn't work so well so it was scrapped in sa2. Plus, when you have variety of gameplay styles, the stuff you especially like feels more satisfying to play. And plus the game as a whole feels more fun when you have a whole bunch of stykes you enjoy rather than just one that can kinda feel monotonous over time. ^^;

@@reginadeleon1911 Boost is cool, but the gameplay can get stale and to quick response reliant. Sonic should have quick response moments, but with the boost mechanic, even those get a bit harmed, since the acceleration feels like a sliding car, even at its best (don't even mention Forces).
I believe boost should be more of a reward for skill at the game to be used carefully by the player. It could work like a state you enter after gathering enough speed for a while, maybe. It has its flaws and could be better, but hey: Sonic Unleashed and Generations ROCK HARD.
@@leonardocouto3109 like how it debuted? The Boost was introduced in Sonic Advance 2 where your characters will get a huge speed increase after running uninterrupted for a while.
@@jouheikisaragi6075 Interesting thought. I always believed that the boost engine debuted with Sonic Rush due to the similarities with how gaining boost worked but maybe you're on to something.
Crazy Gadet hard mode was one of the hardest stages I had to A rank.
Crazy Gadget is by far the worst level in the game.

The 3rd Mission for most stages was Find the Lost Chao, which involved finding secrets and using Mystic Melody on hidden shrines

Well, each level has an upgrade (excluding Cannon's Core), so if you caught on to that, you'd probably realize that City Escape also has one.

I haven’t played this game... is it actually good or is it just people with nostalgia?
It is a mix of both. I would argue that the soundtrack and the early Sonic/Shadow stages are what makes this game good. It begins on a high note with City Escape and declines steadily downhill after that.
I grew up with this game, but despite the nostalgia, I still see its flaws.
Good game man it’s not easy it takes skill to go fast multiple playable characters chaos a lot ofextra missions cart racing it’s amazing game
I know this is old but no it's not just nostalgia heck i played this game an year ago and while i hated it at start due to all the misinformation and hate but after giving it a second chance i fell in love with it

Did you find the Flame Ring? It's in Crazy Gadget. You can't complete the stage normally without it so it should be easy to find.

Flame ring is pretty useful, but in City Escape you get pretty much the worst upgrade for Sonic, believe me it's an item so bad, no one remembers to use it, it's called the Magic Hands

1) spin dash
2) once you're rolling, tap b once (and keep moving forward)

Starscream91 I would say treasure hunting is easy to get except maybe meteor herd and speed stages are the hard ones, and mech stages are weird some are easy but ones like cosmic wall require you to get like 80 thousand points it’s crazy
