I love your jean outfit for Sunday service. We dont care you dress down for mlst people life is more casual anyway especially since COVID. Yiur followers would still enjoy seeing a post of Sharon's OOTD for Sunday. We also understand if that does not work for you now. Thanks for sharing!

My church is the same way, come as u are, but growing up in the islands we also gave our best for church, and i still do that, but when I feel like putting on some jeans and a t-shirt I do that too, keep shining ✨️

I love that you attend church to focus on the spiritual and not on the physical. There is a song, “Just as I am (I come)”.
That was my mom’s favorite song, she used to say it’s not the finery that you wear it’s the heart that you have. 🙏
I always thought that song had to do with the condition your life is in not what you are wearing. Just as I am be it a liar, a theif, a fornicator etc. Because it says to clean my soul of one dark blot. There is nothing wrong with looking your best when you go to worship service.
@@beverlyanngilbert4794 it is everything. You don’t have to be our culture’s idea of perfect to go to God. We don’t have to have been healed before going to God. Go to church and let God’s Word, and Teachings, and Love, and Truth give you what you need. Come as you are. Just come.
@@beverlyanngilbert4794 , and you were right to think that, and you are absolutely correct in saying that "[t]here is nothing wrong with looking your best when you go to worship service." The way we dress sometimes affects the way we act, so dressing up for church is really a good thing.
In my church (in London Uk) all 4 outfits would be appropriate. You can come dressed to the 9’s or very casual. I am a “ door greeter”, partly because I love to see what people are wearing it’s so much fun 🎉
I funny thing is when I first visited the church I’m attending, almost everyone said wow you’re so dressed up and in my mind I thought I was casual 😂😂😂😂🤗

I love a buttery yellow suit. I had a buttery yellow suit that was taken from me and wore by a friend's daughter
It was yellow silk buttery soft and I had a burgundy / purple burgundy silk short sleeve top I used to wear under it. It was the kind of silk that looks like suede. I love that look. You always come through with the looks.

When you don't know what color belt to put on, put on a clear belt. Shein has some with beautiful buckles that look expensive. I love them.

Your suit is so beautiful, that creamy lemon colour is 😍😍, the blouse and shoes are inspired. Did you consider a white belt, to pick up the flashes of white in your blouse? White bag for Church is good. Dress & blazer is really pretty, I can’t see very well (like you tired eyes) but are your shoes a kind of Oxblood colour, bag and pearls perfect. I love watching you put your looks together, the purple and lemon 🤩 is so lovely. I love the jeans and blazer for church, that’s how it should be, the focus on the words of worship. 😊

You know that’s one accessory I do not have. I almost went to a tea party and a hat was part of the dress code, told my sister I needed to add some dress hats to my closet.
I also attend a CHURCH where they don’t DRESS UP. I’m among one of the dressed up, although l feel I’m dressed casual. I don’t dress as casual as some but I’m ok with it. ❤

I’m not a fan of JCPenney women’s clothing but they do tend to have nice pant suits and formal dresses. I like all the variations but I love a blazer with jeans and heels (what I’m wearing to my son’s graduation pinning ceremony from the police academy) lol. My mom transitioned to her forever home on Resurrection Sunday a few years ago. I’m glad I can celebrate not only Jesus but her legacy. Happy Thursday to you!

I sent that suit back because it was way too oversized for my taste. It looks cute on you.
I do like the oversized look, did you think about sizing down? Sometimes if items run really big I size down a couple size. 😊
It was way too oversized. Even the petite was about 3-4 inches too long. I would have had to basically have it remade by a tailor

I agree with you with church although I belong to a Pentecostal church and normally we dress up but as years go by we have been dressing down. But as far as that one thing that is left that you feel as far as your church that is holding you back, my Bishop has passed away but he always used to say that there is no perfect Church. And that when we join because we're imperfect people is still going to and that when we joined because we're imperfect people, the church is still going to be imperfect. The please pray and fast because it sounds like that's where the Lord wants you to be.

Sister i am in the same situation as far as church goes. I haven't committed to a church bc i take it very serious. If you haven't felt called yet to make it your home church, keep seeking the lord and he will guide you in his time.

If it doesn't matter what one wears to church, then a person should be able to "dress up" if she or he wants to. People who roll up out of bed and put on the jeans they wore the day before are not necessarily holier than those who get up early and dress their best--and vice versa. In my experience, I have come to realize that far too many people misunderstand the power of putting forth one's best effort in anything, so naturally they misinterpret the fashion or the intentions of a well-dressed woman. There are also people who are simply not interested in clothes (fashion). That's okay. But there are those who do like clothes and fashion, and that's okay as well. Some of us are not able to buy clothes retail. That's okay because the clothing is not the issue. The issue in the church is what has always been the issue...
If it's okay for someone to show up to church in their sweatpants, then it should also be fine if someone wants to show up in a nice dress or suit. I am tired of the "church attire" conversation. I wish that we, the church, could focus on much more important issues. I wish that we could find ways to help with the crises our youth is facing. Every other day in the news, we hear of kids shooting and killing and committing suicide and robbing banks even. Why do we continue to strain at the gnat and swallow the camel?
Maybe I did convey what I was trying to say properly. I was asked to share getting ready for church however the reason I’ve not done that is because the place of worship I attend is very casual and the focus is not attire but the heart. So I just wanted to convey that I don’t get dressed like I do during the week to go to church because during that time my focus is getting there on time to worship with others. I’m sorry if I did not convey that in the video. 🙏
I didn't want anyone coming for me, but u said exactly what I wanted to say, we give our best to everything else, why not to God, if I hv to dummy down who I am to fit in then that's not the place for me, I dress for church because I believe God deserves my best, and if u really know who u are in christ he'll direct you in every step including how u show up to give him praise. I do like my pants loose, plus I’ve lost a little weight. 😊
What you wear us an individual thing. Some of our members are casually dressed, some are more moderate in their dress and some more dressy. I have never felt comfortable going to worship service in blue jeans. Thats me. There are some members that wear blue jeans and thats them. We recognize his sacrifice every Sunday. We take communion every Sunday in recognition of his sacrifice.
I like the jacket and dress. Didnt really like the fit of those pants.
Beverly, I lost a little more weight than I planned so I’m going to have to get some stuff altered and go down a size. 🤗

I'm over dressed every Sunday and I'm over dressed at work as well. Wear your clothes girl. Take your time finding a church where your spirit leads you. You should visit more churches at least Monthly. God will lead you where you are supposed to be.
