Hey dude, I’ve been looking at upgrading my build and I’ve appreciated your videos. Very well made, articulated, and researched. Seeing how you interact with your audience shows that you really care. I appreciate and hope can’t wait to see you and your channel doing well!
Hey man! Thanks so much for the kind words! Helping people like yourself is what this is all about for me, so I'm really happy to hear it's being appreciated. Thanks for making my day, lol.
I started a new build with the i5 12400... upgraded the stock cooler... I was drunk when building and instead of attaching the cooler, I accidentally super-glued my coffee cup to the CPU... Does this void the warranty? Seriously though... Nice video. Good tempo and easy to follow along. I do however regret not getting the 12600K. Should not have rushed and instead skipped a couple of pizzas and burgers. The 12600K is a monster for the price.. Better core combinations. Oh, well, live and learn.
😂 I'm so sad UA-cam only showed me this comment now. Honestly, if you cup was made of metal it could've been great for extreme overclocking (if Intel just allowed OC on these puppies), just pop some ice in that bad boy and you'll hit sub-ambient temps all the way, lol. Though I think the super glue might not be the best thermal solution. I appreciate the kind words, brother. Yeah, the 12600K is a golden chip from everything I've seen, I'd have been a bit gutted too if I missed out on picking one up when I had the chance. But if you already have the 12400 I wouldn't worry about it, that thing's still a friggin' monster.
This was very much informative👍👍 How about about going with this 12400 chipset in 2024 with B760M bomber with DDR5 RAM. Please suggest. Any performance improvement on DDR 5 ?
Pretty awesome video. I personally think only the DDR4 motherboards make any sense to buy rn (at least if you're on a budget). The new i3 is a good condender for the best new budget CPU I can recommend to people.
Can't disagree with you there. DDR5 is still way too early in its life cycle to provide a legitimate generational improvement. I'd only personally get a DDR5 board for some level of future-proofing, and even then I think it'll be a long time before DDR4 starts to feel outdated. Those new i3s are fire! I really hope AMD takes notice and releases actual budget chips similar to those later this year.
Definitely not out of the question, lol. But I've included the 3800XT in a few of my more recent CPU reviews and unfortunately it struggles a little to keep up 😅
I'm definitely planning on checking out some of the other chips in the 12th-gen lineup, especially ones that actually have E cores as well. Just gotta get my hands on said chips somehow, lol.
@@TheTechTank yeah , seems like supply varies a lot from one place to another , but besides that , apparantly the 12400 does allow higher BCLK overclock compared to the 12600 with the boards that support it. However , I’ve not tested this myself , only with the 12600 non K so far
Hello, I have a question, how to output 5.1 sound through the spdif connector on this motherboard? I have in the settings for some reason only 2.0 sound. In the bios settings, surround sound is enabled, the latest version of realtek control is installed.
You should only ever upgrade your system if it's not providing the experience you want from it. If your system's still good, and you're happy with it, then why not wait. If you're not happy with it, then Alder Lake's fantastic. If you keep waiting because the next gen might be better, you'll be waiting forever.
Glad to see you back, in the techtube world iv gone into save for 2024 rebuild
Thanks! Hopefully by then we'll have graphic cards we can actually afford, lol.

Did you ever (or will) do a retrospective review on your 3800XT? Just curious. (I have that novelty CPU myself lol)
Definitely not out of the question, lol. But I've included the 3800XT in a few of my more recent CPU reviews and unfortunately it struggles a little to keep up 😅
Running pretty much the same setup but with the Strix B660-G board @ 12600 non K , 5 Ghz per core stable . Really worth looking into

You suggestion ddr4 or ddr5?
DDR5 if you can afford it, otherwise a good DDR4 kit is fine.
Do you think its worth waiting for raptor lake or is the alderlake setup already good?

should i buy ddr5 instead of ddr4
Right now? No. DDR5 is still way too expensive for the performance you'll be getting.
Can MSI MAG B660M MORTAR WIFI only connect one 8pin CPU ? (As my PSU only has one 8pin EPS, and will use i5-12600K with non overclocking)
Yip, should work fine with just the one 8-pin.
Are the ddr5 boards backwards compatible with ddr4 ?
Nope, there are physical differences between DDR4 and 5 modules, so once you have a DDR5 board you can't pop DDR4 into it.
i liked 10th gen but yeah 11th was dumb.
ddr5 still expensive,gona w8 am5 socket
Totally fair.
AM5 will be DDR5 only good luck with that
