Your videos are always so informative and detailed, no matter what aircraft you fly, and what systems you're exploring. Thanks for everything you've learned me!
The doords test has to be done on ground with the cabin/cargo/service doors (all 3) opened, as it tests the microswitch locking position, in order to be tested properly, then the green lights on CAB OK and SVCE OK will illuminate if it is done like this. But in the video it is not performed correctly and the amber lights illuminate indicating this. FCOM DSC 52.2 (real ATR pilot :) ).
I'm really excited for this one! I miss those times, buying an aircraft you don't know, watching tutorials, following every step and finally being able to fly❤
The power settings I didn’t know about. I don’t think I’ve ever even sat jump seat in an ATR. I’ve been a passenger, but never been on the flight deck.
Great! Thanks for doing these. I was struggling a little with some things but this has so far cleared up the prep side. I didn't do my fuel and payload from MSFS weights and balances though. But it seems this IS the right way. And it's so awkward because the MSFS fuel/payload is in Lbs and the aircraft is in KG. Then if Simbrief gives you 45 passengers, it's an arse-ache to input them in correctly. So yes, this plane is in desperate need of an option on it's EFB to input passengers/fuel/cargo.
Is there any possibility you’d make a detailed A320 MCDU video? I’m also switching from the 737NG to A320 and can’t find detailed videos online, other than idk initial preparation and approach etc.. something more like fixes, extending centerline, speed limitations below 10,000, some of the 737 tricks. Thanks
For now I'd refer to blackbox's videos as well, he's done a great job on many! However once I'm actually flying the A330 and got a bit of experience on it you can be sure I'll post some tips and tricks on the MCDU!
@@A330Driver Fühle ich! :D Sag mal, konntest du das Problem beseitigen, dass der Coursor über manchen "Schaltern" zum Pfeil wird und man nicht klicken konnte?
Off is ON except when its not. HAHA. I can't get the prop brake to come on (even after pressing the hydro button) or the oxygen. I must have missed a step somewhere. Really appreciate the tutorial videos. Thank You!
A cordial greeting to you, thank you for the explanations, in reality, I have had several problems with this plane, it has not been easy, being able to fly it, at this moment, what is happening to me is that when I start the flight in cool and dark, the flap lever is stuck. No. It moves, if I try to move it it blocks, but if on the contrary, I start the flight, with the plane turned on at the runway edge. The flap lever already moves, so I suspect that it must be some omission in the cool and dark process. Could you explain or give me a guide as to where it might be? my problem . Beforehand thank you very much. greetings.
In which video do you give your overall impressions of this sim? Not "study level" is all I heard you say. I am actually typed in the ATR. Ha, from the mid 90s when I was on furlough at Continental Express. Those airplanes of course sported a dramatically different cockpit look because they were largely analog instrumentation. I don't claim to remember a LOT about the airplane from flying it a year on furlough. It was slow and considered ugly, ha. But I thought it flew well otherwise. The rudder was not hydraulically boosted, which made this high winger a bitch in strong crosswinds. Landing it in general was an adjustment, and yes, my early attempts were pretty awful. I eventually got the hang of it. The ATR was also considered an "ice magnet" and there was a very bad icing accident that I recall. In the US northeast through a winter, I really loaded some ice on it and alarmingly had the tail covered in it. That was with all the stuff on to prevent it. I have all my manuals, but with the new digital cockpit I doubt they would help me much. My biggest reservation is the underlying, weak and puny MFS flight model. For me it largely cripples the excellent and beautiful PMDG 737, in which most of my career flying was done. I can adjust to the flight model, though I am left with the feeling that knowing the actual handling qualities of the real aircraft are working against me. MFS could improve their flight model and make these aircraft pilot sims in addition to them being gamer sims, which is admittedly where their audience is. Your tutorials are, as usual, a cut above. You seem to have a real feeling for the systems, and I think you should expand your expertise to XP12, where there is more of a pilot orientation. Your channel is a very good one and also I wish you well on the (gulp) Airbus. If I was flying with a guy like you, inflight I would be saying, "so, tell me again what this does"!😁
Regarding to the icing test, you actually don't need to press the test button as the system itself will continuously self testing in normal condition and will produce an eicas msg if the system went wrong.
Thanks! My copy of the FCOM is a bit outdated, I just saw Fly With Magnars video on the topic as well. It has probably been changed since my eleven year old FCOM copy was released. I wish we had a good manual with the current SOPs!
With the latest version of the ATR, this flow no longer works for me :( I get additional errors on the screen when I turn the ext power on, for example "air pack 1+2", "air bleed 1" and "air bleed 2". And when I press the Aux Pump button under HYD PWR, it doesn't go on "LO PR", but instead the light goes completely off. Is this a bug, or did they introduce some new steps that aren't covered by the video?
Thx for the video! I miss some more in-depth information on features that are specific to this aircraft. Like the TLU and MFC buttons you mentioned but skipped explaining the purpose. Is this mentioned in another video or will this come up in different installments of the series?
Speaking of this plane- I flew multiple times today. Creepy military/MIB like guys suddenly appeared surrounding my ATR-42! Was like 4 of them, Front back left and right. Once was lining up per ATC at KFLL on runway for next takeoff. Then screwing around in Micronesian Islands, I saws the guys just pop in again, this time perhaps an eerie premonition that my STOL attempt will crash into the water obviously seconds after I blasted by these ghosts lol. WTF is this, new with update?
Maybe check with the catering Company what that white powder was that was on their last meals. It seems to be good, but I guess you can make more out of it by selling it.
random question! since this is fairly study level, if you put in a route normally though the map , will it transfer into the FMS when you load? or will you have to put it in manually each time? im not great with the FMS yet so just asking.
Great video and needed! I only have 1 problem with this airplane. When I connect gpu to the airplane the dome light goes on and when I turn it off in the overhead panel it remains on. I don't know if I am doing something wrong or the airplane has bug.
