thank you, Tim, for posting this wonderful video. I lived at C-1 dam for 22 years and raised my two girls in the lower house. I worked at all the dam's and power houses on the river. My wife and daughters operated the hatchery at Fall Creek for many years.
@@chrissiereynolds4058 Yes Chrissie this is I. I have been meaning to get in touch with you. But I am old & slow. 81 trips around the sun and we live up in lake Oswego. Also, I don't drive much anymore... We live with our oldest daughter, Nanette. Either she or Genny drives us around. Genny lives in Hillsboro. Genny, Sandy & I were going to drive down in a couple of weeks, but we are rethinking it because of all the pictures. Besides our old house has been removed. I don't know if you knew it but Sandy worked at fall creek hatchery for several years as a seasonal and we operated. it under contract for the fish & game for 4 years. one Sunday morning the penstock ruptured, at the fall creek powerhouse and I had to divert the water from the plant.to the old channel which caused the water to become very turbid. Going into the ponds. We were very worried that we were going to lose A lot of fish, but after a few hours the water cleared up and our lose out of 300,000 king salmon was 0. These dams should not have been taken out of service!! They were in great shape and a great service to the public. Copco One and Copco Two and Iron Gate were the only dams without fish ladders and I'm for sure for $500 000 000 they could have been installed. I have more I could say but i will end it here. Thank you Chrisse!!
Weird that everyone is acting like there was any desirable water in front of these dams that they’re going to miss… Personally I don’t mind switching from toxic algae puddles to clean river water.
Yeah. The landowners complaining about losing their mostly disgusting algae reservoir frontage and not appreciating they now have river front property. Glass half empty folks.
I've never seen those waterfalls, is it possible to hike to see them up close. If so could you give me details to what area of the former reservoir I should start from. Also I haven't seen videos from you documenting after dam removal. You do amazing work and it would be greatly appreciated if you could make a post dam removal video.
Tim, will you be documenting the continuing progress on the full dams removal project? If not, can you recommend a site that might be doing this? I followed the Elwha dam removal in Washington state online and it was very interesting. Thanks, Ken, Auburn, WA
I won't be in any official capacity however I plan on periodically visiting the area to check on progress and put together more short films like this one. I'm not aware of a specific site covering the details of the project.
That was Beautiful! Come look at it now! I a sewer now. It killed everything in the Klamath River. The River will have toxic Sediment in it For decades. 😢

Amazing history! Thanks for sharing.
Is this the man who once wrote a sign, "this way, Yo?" ❤ If so this is his kid.
@@chrissiereynolds4058 yes it is. I read you on Copco lake community page.

Thing is after the Dam removals the water will still not be clear for many years. And likely you wont see it in your lifetime.

Holy smokes! I’ve fished up there for over 10 years. Looking forward to the “after” video.
These videos you producing are very special. Something about it draws me into them in some special way. Makes me very emotional. Not sure why!
My Lord, that was some beautiful footage. Thank you for sharing.🙂
In the 80s and 90s I caught thousands of quality Largemouth Bass in both Copco and Iron Gate. I will miss these lakes ...
I fished Copco as a kid in the 90s with my grandfather. A lot of great memories were made on that body of water.
Soon the Salmon will be fished in these same valleys.

swiftwater films has been contracted to document the progress@@hallamphoto
More of this please! 🙂
OK. I expected to see a lot of work going on there to remove the dams. Nada.
There is a large staging area full of equipment on the north side of the dam.
Thanks.@pacificcarpophagous

For decades. 😢
Great footage of a place I know and love!
All that carbon free energy wasted.
Don't need it
Most of these dams are past their original estimated lifespan. So it's either pay money to fix them or tear them down.
It wasn’t “free”. It ruined salmon runs and an ecosystem. Nobody’s lights went out in the un-damming of this river.
Great video and great to have the dams on the Klamath removed. That energy was far from green or sustainable.
