Ah okay bc I was going to say the ante (before) is bet before the hand is dealt, so even if you fold first thing, you should've still lost your 4 ante diamonds. idk why I still told you after you said you didn't want to know. I guess I'm having that kind of being-irritating Monday. Apologies :D Edit: Nope, sorry Shashwammy, you owe Scar 8 diamonds bc you made him lose his ante when he tried to fold like you had done on the killed by horses hand. *shrug emoji*
It's just poker rules... which I don't think anyone has gotten right yet. Set Up: All players start with two stacks of diamonds. A player loses when they run out of diamonds or opt to walk away from the table (remove their head from the stat poker shulker box). Blind: One player takes the turn leading and antes the large blind (4 diamonds). Other players ante a small blind that is half the large blind (2 diamonds). Players can abstain paying the small blind, but the leader *must* pay the large blind. If the leader does not pay the large blind, the leader has chosen to walk away from the table and may no longer participate in stat poker until the game has ended. Increasing the Blind: Every set interval (usually 10 or 15 minutes) the cost of the large blind (and thus the small blind) increases by an agreed upon amount. Normally this is increasing the blind by 2 diamonds or doubling the blind, for example. The blind is increased to create additional tension as the game progresses and ensure the game eventually ends. Draw: Once the blinds are paid, the stat is drawn. If the redstone lantern lights up, players are betting on having the highest of the random stat. If the lantern does not light up, players are betting on having the lowest of the random stat. Betting: Betting starts with the leader. The leader chooses to call (no raise), raise (increase the diamonds being anted), or fold (drop out of the round). Because the leader paid the big blind, it is never wise for the leader to fold during the first bet. Going clockwise from the leader, each player that paid a small blind takes turns calling (matching the leader's bet), raising, or folding. After each raise, all four players are given a chance to raise further, call, or fold. Winning: Once all four players call (and thus betting stops), as long as two players remain then stats are revealed. If only one player remains they win all anted diamonds (the pot) without revealing their stat. The player with the winning stat wins the pot. All In: A player can go all in, anting the remainder of their diamonds. Any bets that exceed the all in are side bets. This prevents a small all-in from making a large amount of diamonds. Side Bets: In addition to the primary ante, players are able to start side bets. Side bets are treated as separate pots and only the players involved in the side bet can win the side bet.
Exactly what I was thinking when cub folded before paying. Also they where ignoring the high-low light and always playing high. Where cub has the obvious advantage since he plays like 16h every day.
The stat poker episodes are some of my favorites from the entire season. Idk why but there’s just something so fun about hermits hanging out and being surprised by each other’s stats
Its no surprise that Xisuma won! He is like the mad farm-building king among this group!!! I'd love to see Xisuma go up against Impulse, Tango, and Mumbo though, that way some of the other super talented farm-builders can put it all on the line!! (course for that line up, it should be tailored for a more redstone based game!)
Mumbo doesn't spend as much time on the server, so he would have a disadvantage (assuming they kept ignoring the high/low rule, which was added specifically to make it fairer for different types of players).
My grandpa died 3 weeks ago and hes funeral was a week ago and its still hard to get over it, watching your videos had been such a happy thing and it makes me happier. Mutch love ❤️

Hey X, did you know that etho added the feature that when you click the button, the Redstone lamp had a 50% chance to turn off, and in that case the stat with the lowest wins, so you could've won the horse one
Hi X! I just wanted to let you know that, in poker you ante in before you get your hand so that it's a risk. So, in Stat poker, you should ante in before getting the Stat so that it's a risk every time. Also, the light underneath the button tells you whether you're betting on who has the highest number, VS who has the lowest. All that aside, you made a wonderful episode and I e joued it immensely!
I loved that you guys are playing Stat Poker so late into the game! But I wish you had done the high/low stats randomizer because False was really kept out of the game for lack of diamonds which isn't fun. :(
When playing stat poker, the light between cub and false indicates if it's high or low, so if you get distance by horse and no light, it's low i believe
This came up in my recommended recently after Grian’s short of a similar game; I’m a newer hermit fan but I was not surprised at all to see Scar as a muscular shirtless version of himself in a past season too 😂 of course lol!
Just so you know, you're supposed to place ante in box then bring up stat paper because you can't fold if there is no money in the pot. you have to lose money if you fold.
X, an improvement for the next time could be a new rule where you can't press the button for what the stat is until everyone has either anted up or not. That way, you don't get games with just 2 people
Xisuma, the redstone lamp with the button on it lights up at random. It indicates whether you're betting on who has the lowest or highest statistics. Lamp off=lowest, lamp on=highest. That way it's more fair for everyone
@@Mags2u not necessarily I think, they could just use cub's white template from the newspaper then make the whole deck from there, locking the map everytime they change it. Should be done in less than a day. *The royal cards doesn't need to have a full face, the letters are good enough
Hey X, something to note: When you press the button to get your stat, the light being on/off will dictate weather you play by the highest number or the lowest number of that stat (I don't think it matter which is which). that's just how Tango and Etho played it. That way, every stat has twice the longevity to it, and also so you may not even have to have the highest stat to win the round. So if the stat was something like "Players slept in bed" you may have an advantage if Bdubs is there and you're not going by the highest stat but instead by the lowest. It's a fun dynamic that completes changes up the game I think. So you may not have to be the best at something to win the round. Thought this might help the style of play you guys have going on. Also, the ante is a forced bet and is meant to be put in by everyone. Otherwise there's no risk to it if you choose not to play the hand. Just to put that out there. But you've been playing great, and I know you guys have your own rules for it. Just hoping it's fun for you guys and I hope to see more games of it again sometime in the future. :D
Everyone has to ante up every round. You can only fold when someone places a bet and it's your turn to call, raise, or fold. Also, if the light is off, you win by having the lowest stat, not the highest. Both of these rules make the game a lot more interesting.

I did notice some questions in the beginning about betting. Ante is what you put up to play, it's the base pot. No ante, no cards. (in traditional poker) after the ante, cards are dealt, followed by a round of either checking, betting, or folding. Checking means I'm not sure how to bet, so I'm going to move on to the next player to see what they do. This is also where raising can happen. For instance, in a four player game, player one checks, player 2 bids 4 diamonds, player 3 calls the 4, and raises 2 more diamonds, the current bet to keep playing now 6. Player 4 calls the 6 diamonds. Now player 1 has to decide whether to match the 6, or fold. Player 1 folds, they are out. (and down the original ante). Player 2 calls the other 4. so, if the ante was say, 4 diamonds, the pot is now (4x4) + (6X3) = 16+18 = 34 diamonds total in the pot goes to the winner. I hope that helps anyone who is considering starting to play poker (or stat poker) with other people! Good luck and have fun! Edit: This being said, as X commented, rules will vary depending on whose playing. What I presented is a more traditional scenario.
I love that you put the stats in the upper left corner. I watched tango play and it was so hard to remember what his stats were when they were betting. This made it so much more enjoyable!
In poker, ante is a sum that every player puts in before the cards are dealt, but you can play with blinds as well where let's say "the dealer" puts in 4 diamonds, and the person to their right puts up half of that, so 2 diamonds, then starting from the left going clockwise players decide if they want to match the bet, raise the bet, or fold. When it gets back to the dealer, he either has to match the highest bet if there's a higher bet than his, or he can check, which means the cards are then dealt. Then the next round the new dealer is the person to the left of the old dealer.
Just a reminder we made are own rules and had fun so no worries if we didnt play it exactly as it was itended :-)
Ah thanks for the clear up
I think you mean intended
X, your suppose to put in your anti before you look at the questions, it's part of Poker.
Ah okay bc I was going to say the ante (before) is bet before the hand is dealt, so even if you fold first thing, you should've still lost your 4 ante diamonds. idk why I still told you after you said you didn't want to know. I guess I'm having that kind of being-irritating Monday. Apologies :D

This is the most civilised poker match I've ever seen.
Lmao ‘idk they just keep flying into my sword’

In poker, ante is a sum that every player puts in before the cards are dealt, but you can play with blinds as well where let's say "the dealer" puts in 4 diamonds, and the person to their right puts up half of that, so 2 diamonds, then starting from the left going clockwise players decide if they want to match the bet, raise the bet, or fold. When it gets back to the dealer, he either has to match the highest bet if there's a higher bet than his, or he can check, which means the cards are then dealt. Then the next round the new dealer is the person to the left of the old dealer.
