I believe that this moment Dan decided not to renew with The Bonfire. I think a month prior was when Jay and Christine were arguing over the dog they have and Dan tried to get them to stop bickering. They both snapped on Dan and started ganging up on him
@beauclark1650 It was a perfect storm. You had the fight,he was already with Katie and head over heels in love, so that changed his outlook on a lot of things, especially his career. Then this was it for him. Jay and Dan will always be close friends but their long term working relationship is pretty much over.
As a big fan, Jay's temper tantrums have been well documented, dating back to his childhood. Jay learned at a very early age that if he made a big scene, things would go his way. He was scared of rainstorms and his tantrum shut down an entire family vacation.
I love Big Jay but his biggest flaw as a person is that he's weirdly overconfident about things he shouldn't, and lacks confidence in the things he should. I still listen to LOS but i stopped listening to the Bonfire. They bring out each other's worst qualities
had no idea about this. jay is a big baby, obviously, but i was really bummed when the bonfire ended because that was by far my favorite show. after dan left, the show has been borderline unlistenable, mostly because Kelly is a Rogan Comedian (he "kills" and "destroys" but you go to listen and get bored.) so when soder got his own podcast i got excited. dans not a great comic like jay, but hes an amazing podcaster. that shows been super boring, too (and so is other show with who else, robert kelly) ive come all the way back round on jay, classic bonfire was both immature men combined. i dont know, obviously these shows have an expiration, but some magic was lost.
Idk why but this doesn’t really make me dislike big jay. Maybe because everyone around him joked about it and made the whole thing funny. I’ve been listening to the bonfire for a few months. I see people complaining about Bob Kelly and I get it. Solder and Jay are way funnier but I also love Kelly. I haven’t heard anything about jay being the reason Dan left so this was interesting.
I'm a lawyer, and I built my practice representing women in domestic abuse cases for free. I've seen some of the most tragic cases. Also, 5 and a half years ago I co-founded a charity that has raised a collective $340,000 for women's shelters and women's self defense training across the West Coast. As a rule I don't disclose this, but I've even privately donated at least $90,000 to women's mental health resource advocacy groups over the years. And even I think Christine deserves *everything* Jay has done and said to her. Let's be real, he doesn't ever go NEARLY far enough. I won't even listen to the Bonfire again til Jay smartens up and puts her face through a wall, maybe That might "brute force" some class and restraint into her. Never before has an absolute Alabama 2 acted like an undisputed NYC 9 with such obnoxious impunity: she defies the hot/crazy scale correlation so completely that you'd think she must have tried to sit on it, eat it or shove it inside her. And if all that wasn't enough, she has written and released the absolute CRAZIEST manifesto online that confirms everything Everyone has ever suspected or assumed of her. She's changed my whole outlook on the issues supposedly innocent women face in this world, and has made me look back and regret essentially all the work I've done to defend them.
Schedule has been weird lately but we should be back to normal for the foreseeable future, starting next Sunday. But if you've missed them, there have been weekly episodes at different times.
