You are correct, I would not recommend this plant to any herbivore, omnivore. But when dealing with snakes or lizards that will not eat vegetation etc you will not have issues - It is only an irritant if ingested. You can find the info here: www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/plant-database/viewplants/?plant=846&c=5#.XaXPXS2ZOqc
Would very much like to see you set up a Macropanesthia rhinoceros bioactive enclosure. Or maybe even a Hisser one. Love the enthusiasm and content. Do you ever use alphitobius diaperinus in bioactive setups?
Great to see you working with these snakes. They are definitely on my list. I would have thought to go 36 tall for these guys (same for emeralds and chondros) just so they have the option to explore more. What are your thoughts on bioactive set ups for Emeralds and Chondros? I know if I were to ask the chondro facebook groups I'd get chewed up and spat out just for asking that. But I like gathering as much info as I can before getting the animal.
I am actually in the process of doing bio for both of them. Once I am ready I will be doing a video and hosting opinion leaders on the matter for easy clarification : )
@@natedrawsthings But if you can give them a 36" height go for it! The only reason I did not go higher with these guys is because we tried and they chose to stay closer to the ground.
The Bio Dude Josh Halter My guess is that they stayed closer to the ground in a taller enclosure because of the constant bright lights, or possibly to get away from the heat lamp. They are mostly shaded or in filtered light in their natural environment.
I would love to!!! It is hard with the DIMs they need - I hope to have one soon. If you want a kit for one, just email us and we can hook you up with a custom.
Hey Dennis! At this time the premade kits are sold out online, however please email customercare@thebiodude.com And the team can get you set up with a kit and a quote! Hope this helps!
Be careful keeping them together. They do not do well and should be kept alone. Agamids in general are very aggressive and will quickly bully, kill, outcompete others.
Hey , My Amazon red tree boa is hanging out on the floor of his tank coiled up. It’s 3 AM is lights off for the day it’s not cold should I be concerned?
I normally set up the largest piece of wood first & make sure anything I stack is secure. But love the easy set up. Oh & on animal care, my carpet python bit me over x50 the 1st month (including 2 weeks of no handling) then started pooping when that didn't work. I stopped taking him out until the 3rd day after food & wouldn't put him up after he craps. Otherwise it trains them that pooping = no humans. Which is what they want. Have fun with this species!
Yes so the green tree boas like to move side to side on the branches so they feel safe and still protected, way better than having to get off one branch up to another and feel unprotected.
Hey there! Our staff pays close attention to their stress levels, eating cycles and shedding cycles as well as overall activity to ensure they are happy and healthy. We do recommend Only experienced keepers should try to keep snakes together that are not breeding. No issues with this pair! Hope this helps, The Dude Abides!

I wish! I LOVE BLOODS! a good friend of mine got chased across the room about 9 years ago from his super aggressive female....Since then Ive been hooked. I hope to some day!
Is it common and safe to have little tan/reddish mites in the spring-tail container? I drove down and bought some last week and wasn't until I added them to the tank when I noticed them crawling on the charcoal. I pulled two of them out but don't know if others are in the tank now. I do see some in the other container I bought to cultivate chilling on top of the charcoal.
Any word on the beardie clean up crew to be shipped to NY. Been sold out on the website for months and everytime the season you say comes along. You give me another one.
My husband wants a boa so he would be interested in this. Our beardys already love their bioactive setup, but, Dude, will you ever do any bioactive stuff for aquatic reptiles? It's really difficult to get an ideal setup for aquatic turtles(particularly larger ones like sliders) without being a maverick at building things or ordering a custom job. And you need insane filtration for them. There must be a better way.
Ok this has nothing to do with boas but u had a question that I can’t find an answer for. Can I use a Terra Sahara substrate for my week and a half old leopard gecko
I want to build a bioactive terrarium for my leopard gecko but I'm worried about impaction from him trying to eat the clean up crew or the dirt from his shed skin, what is your experience from this? I know leopard gecko impaction is a big issue
I offer them locally. They don't fit on a standard pallet so shipping is more than the cost of the tank itself. If you go to Tetra Faunas website you can find their distributors. If you are in Houston you can get them from me.
I know you do not ship worldwide, but is it an option you are willing to consider in the future ? I would love to test some of your products but I live in France. :)
@@TheBioDudeJoshHalter Oh I see that now. Your volume is consistent now but it's still hard to hear you. Although not bad, you still have that "in the background" sound. Anyway I like your stuff.
Nice setup I like it. Good job. The yellow atb is a normal phase and the dark one is the Halloween phase. The "double diamond" pattern is Halloween. Red, yellow, orange and garden are normal phase.
I support your channel, but having set up vivariums for some time, I should think you would have learned to at least separate the plant's roots a little.
I always take the species of the plants and their growing tendencies into consideration - I am unsure what you mean? As long as there is enough depth/space to prevent competition (depending on size of the plant) they do okay. Appreciate that support!

yippee ! I didn’t know millipedes could be an additional cleanup crew !, great video and great vivarium!
Thank you Bob! You're the man!
I would love to see a bioactive terrarium for Green Tree Pythons.
Yes please.
Also watching this because I have a GTP and want to go bioactive - do you think it would be significantly different for a GTP?
i know Im quite randomly asking but does anybody know of a good website to stream newly released tv shows online ?
This looks good. A update every other week would be awesome !
Thank you, ill be sure to try and do that.
You should do a collab with SerpaDesign, that would be amazing! Keep up the great work Josh 🤘🏼🤙🏼

Joshua Knoebel. Right!!!

I love the fact that you have a passion for animals and you also support the second amendment.
Best tank build channel on UA-cam! Hands down
Thank you for the kind words.

No drainage layer is needed? What is your misting process for ATBs?

What is the difference between the solar grow and glow and grow does the solar grow provide uvb?
Tank looks good, my problem with it is that it's for arboreal species...l would think that the enclosure isn't tall enough.
When will the fern logs be available? They already look super cool
We have some right now at thebiodude.com - I only have a few left but they will be available again soon after they run out!
Can you pls do bigger viverium tutorial. Good video
