I love that the game addresses how horrific a plague situation is to a society. Kindness and morality must be very hard to uphold when failing means being eaten alive by rats.

Man, this single piece of dialogue alone is just another reason why i love these games. Even the npcs have stories and personalities. It makes it that much more immersive.

the guards in kingsparrow island also have unique dialogues in high chaos. guards will argue about who (havelock, martin, and pendleton) is right and wrong and what makes each party right or wrong. one guard even regrets not saying goodbye to their kid.
i can't even imagine what they were going through, one moment you're defending the island as brothers in arms, next you and your friends are divided into opposing factions. made me feel like a heartless asshole for going for the high chaos route.

Don't be sorry. It's just a game, after all. Also, you were killing those who wouldn't hesitate to cut you to pieces the moment they see you. Who possessed a threat to you.
I still don't quite understand, why the game and its characters keep scolding the player for murdering your enemies. Why all this morality enforcement and Chaos System were implemented in the first place. Those features just enchain you, figuratively.

@@Yegor_Epanchintsev Why write a story about how power corrupts if you're not going to give the player a chance to be corrupted by power? With no chaos system, there's no point for the devs to include non-lethal options, and then the game loses all it's charm. The chaos system is what makes it feel like your actions matter in shaping the world, that taking the easy way out (like your enemies do) and going high lethality is bad for the world. Yes, to you the player, the lives you're taking are just NPCs, disposable code. But to Corvo, they are people, many of them former colleagues, and the chaos system is there to remind you of that. To reward you for showing restraint, and make the enemies more human.

@@Tigercup9 Chaos System is a mere bullshit that restrain the player in his actions, and thus it should not be justified at all. If the game doesn't let you play the way you like, or, what's worse, although giving you a full discretion, scold you for your playstyle, then screw it.
Implementing any morality in the gameplay, no matter how well it done, is a big, big mistake.
Corvo Attano is literally waging a guerrilla warfare against the corrupt regime. He as a partisan, rebel, so to speak, HAS ANY RIGHT TO KILL, if the real threat in form of guards, inquisitors and such approaches. He has any right to kill the men who usurped the power themselves and tortured him for months. No Revolution, no coup d'etat, except few instances, was perpetrated without blood spilled. Even the least controversial, the ones that was supported by almost all the people, such as The February Revolution, had some casualties among the population.
Although i prefer the peaceful resolution of conflicts in real life, in the game, on contrary, especially if the game is designed - not told, but designed - to be played violently and as an action movie, i'd jump to the opportunity to have a fun, to use all tools of destruction and disposal the game gave me, instead of crouching all over the place and be a goody-two-shoes, an innocent lamb.
I hate when the devs and its supporters makes me reluctant , feared and ashamed of playing the way i like, the way i used to play, by such a ridiculous methods.

@@Tigercup9 Also, you said that the devs wouldn't have any reason to implement a stealth in the game if the Chaos System didn't exist. So, does first Deus Ex have Chaos System or such? Does it punish you for playing the way you like? Off course, there were Paul and Carter in the first game who'd chew the player out for killing the NSF terrorists. Did it affect the plot in any matter? No. You had any right to pass them by and do whatever you want without loosing anything.
Human Revolution encourages the player throughout the plot to take "a minimum forse approach", sticking to the prod, but didn't punish you for killing enemies. The game just gave you extra points for non-lethal neutralisation, that's all.
      What about Dishonored ?..
I mean, i really like this game for its plot, variety, the attention to details, but Chaos System is bullshit, period.

Definitely. Dishonored is inspired by Thief. If you're going to play a Dishonored game play the first one.

There’s definitely some shared DNA there! That being said if you go in expecting to play Thief you’ll be disappointed, Dishonoured is much faster paced and combat-oriented.
I think there’s a playable demo for Dishonoured 2, so you can always try before you buy - though this clip is from the DLC of the first game.
