The latest iteration of the NT1a has SMD components. Sure it’s a good cheap mic but it’s too thin on your voice u need something like a re20.
Ah yes. The RE20 is a fine mic. I’m going to grab one soon to review here. I do love the RE20.
C-414 sounds the most buttery on my headphones. No muffleness but that could just be my headphones. The other mics have more grain. The V5 sounds the most linear and even across the frequency and does well to highlight the various characteristics of your voice. I have both these mics.
Yes. I’m still, after all, partial to the C-414 over the other BFL mics. I find the bottom end slightly missing on the V5.
But compared to the sE4400 or the Atlantis, none of the BFL mics could compete. Haha. But a hell of a lot more expensive.
Thanks for watching!
I bought the ProAR version cuz Bai Fei Li is a sht company like most. I don't think it was cool how they treated you and feel this video was on point to the undertones describing their lack of appreciation to YOUR videos reviewing and backing them at the time. Thanks for your time and I enjoy your work.
Hey thanks so much! I don’t hold any ill will towards BFL. They’re just not marketing-minded, I think. Either way, I did the reviews and will be moving on. I really appreciate your kind words! Cheers!
@@TheRecordist you're a great content creator bro keep up the solid work.
ok hold on.... headphones on :)
You know it! Hahaha
Not the biggest fan of any of the Bai Fei Li mics. Haven't used them personally just from what I hear on this video. I'd take the NT1 over any of those. Really enjoy the sound of the sE4400. As far as quality vs money I think that is the sweet spot. The Atlantis sounds sweet but $1750 is heftier than me. Overall I would pass on the Bai Fei Li. I'd prefer to put my money towards something a little better. The amount of animosity towards the NT1-a was pretty wild though. You really dug in and twisted the knife lol.
Hahaha. The NT1a is the villain of this channel. I’ve made it the punching bag. I often refer to it in my videos in a derogatory way. Hahaha. But Røde can take it. I’m punching up.
Yes. I agree with you. The 4400 is the sweet spot. And the NT1 is a stellar mic at its price point.
If I had $500 to spend, there’s no mic I would choose over the 4400. I even wrote a song about it!
Thanks for watching! Cheers!
If anyone touches that measuring tape, they could become a zombie.😊
Everyone knows this! Hahaha.
69th like. Nice.
Woo hoo!
NT1a is trash. It doesn't even deserve a better capsule.
Hahaha. Well I haven’t done a capsule swap yet, but one day I’ll try it just to see what happens. And maybe some capacitor swaps etc.
But yes, the NT1a is quite awful.
The latest iteration of the NT1a has SMD components. Even if you're lucky to have the previous version, I would rather swap the entire PCB with a Schoeps style PCB with a capacitor with high enough capacitance to filter out the high hissing frequencies of the HS6 capsule.... Or swap the capsule too.
Basically, the entire mic is 💩
@@sharktooh76 huh. I’ve never opened it up. SMD, you say? Doesn’t surprise me. My hatred for the NT1a is legendary and I’ve made fun of it across all kinds of videos on my channel. Watch the short film intro to my latest video to experience a fright!
