Went on this ride yesterday. Honestly the thing I love/hate the most about coasters is that. The whole time you go up that slope you kinda feel like you're going to slip backwards out of the harness (it's completely safe though). You just have this feeling of "I need to get off", but you know there is no way out; you're either gonna get shredded if you try to climb out/stuck up there, or your cart will fly off and you'll get trashed at the bottom. What a glorious feeling.

I just want to comment that this roller coaster is truly incredible. The speed you reach is unreal. Also this ride is insanely smooth. If you ever have the chance to ride it do not pass it up, seriously.

We just returned from Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The Griffon was one of our favorite coasters there. Great ride!!

The Griffon must be one of the most beautiful looking rollercoasters to watch. It really looks like a giant, graceful bird.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg has been voted the most beautiful amusement park for like 25 years straight now. The entire park is just amazing! So glad I live local!
I commend that guy for still getting on the roller coaster he was clearly afraid of. As for the ride itself it looks pretty sweet. Nice couple of vertical drops, some nice twists and turns, and a section running along a pond. I like it.
I did have to do a rewind double take at one point though because the gondola car caught me completely off guard.

I'm that person who would've enjoyed the ride and be laughing at my friends who'd be freaking out.
Honestly same, I like to go to six flags, sea world, universal, bush gardens and kings dominion and go on the big rides like Goliath and intimidater, and I always go front row, and I just hear in the back of the ride people screaming and I’m just sitting there with my arms up enjoying the ride

Griffon uses regular otsr while valravn uses the vest restraints which is why the drop is lame because it kills any airtime

I just went to Busch gardens for the first time on Saturday. This was my first ride that I've ever rode that has a loop. I WAS TERRIFIED BUT I LOVED IT

My first good roller coaster, I sat in the exact seat he was sitting in, it was also my first coaster of the day and I was tired from the drive. You should try this when you go to Busch Gardens, great ride, 10/10
i feel one of the things that makes rides like this iconic is when it goes through a hill or vertical drop, you can hear the loud clank as it exits the element
lol now this takes me back. I’ve only been to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg only once. I went about maybe 4 or 5 years ago. And normally I’m terrified of roller coasters. But somehow I managed to work up the courage and ride all the roller coasters in the park. I remember this was the last rollercoaster I rode. The first one I rode was the Alpengeist. Which was as far as I can remember, my first real roller coaster that I rode.

I rode the Griffon twice on a school trip when I was 16 and the build up was much more intense than the actual drops and inversions. It's a very smooth ride and not as scary as it looks. If you get the opportunity to ride, I would just suggest working your way up by going on all the other coasters in the park first.
One of the best, coasters, ever! Took my sons there, in 07, and 08... Always sat, in the front! So much fun!
