PROGRAM NOTES:
I originally wrote this piece in December of 2020 and recorded it in my home during lockdown in January of the next year. This piece is both a tribute to Newman’s impeccable writing and my love for the film this piece appeared on, “Wall-E.”
After re-stumbling across this song from the soundtrack, I was fascinated by the textures created in the original track, and wanted to bring it to life through the use of percussion orchestra. This piece is a study in the use of textures, timbres, and satisfying sounds trading around the soundscape of the percussion orchestra.
