Aloha! I'm a percussionist based in central Kentucky.
"Ends to a Mend" by JaRon Brown (for Multi-Percussion and Tape)
I learned this piece this past semester to perform for the Black Swamp Percussion solo competition as well as to perform for my studio class at UK (go cats!). It was super fun and very difficult to prepare along every step of the way from selecting instruments and building the setup to learning difficult musical chunks. Overall, I'm very proud of the work and am excited to have it in my repertoire!

What grade would this possibly be?
I would say maybe 3 or 4 (if you mean on a typical 1-6 scale). Parts individually are not very difficult but there’s always plenty of nuance to bring out when you look at this arrangement at a bigger picture.

Cool! I marched snare at Spirit in 1980 under Tom Float. A different day and time for sure. All auditions were in person in Atlanta and we had to play for Tom Float himself and two others. Lots of people there that year due to Spirit's rise in the standings. We tied for the Sanford that year, which was the first caption tie in D.C.I. history. I with you the best. Enjoy your time in Atlanta. You will remember the experience for the rest of your life. Thanks for sharing your talents.
