My dad taught his 7 kids to play golf here. In addition, he taught us to repair our divots and 1 more while at it. Taught us to leave the course better than we found it. I deeply appreciate those lessons. I love this course, the proximity, affordability and memories.
i just read the article about re-opening golden gate park 9 hole golf course. as a native of sf who lived in sf most of my 66yrs, started playing there about 30yrs ago. i don't live in the city any more and would not pay 50.oo dollars to play it. if you don't have sf resident card to play it, it just too much money. if you are a young family just starting play and don't have a card it would just be out of reach. i know everything costs more in the city, but 50. 00 is still a lot money for 9 holes.
I think that having a lower resident card rate and higher non resident rate keeps the local community from being pushed out by too many golf tourists coming to see the beautiful new course. It should help keep a friendly mix of both

I played at GG Golf course 10 years ago for $15

I am not a golf tourist, Is born and raised in san francisco live there most of my life. I live in novato now
I'm not going to play in the I hold course for fifty dollars.
