Decoliner: The $500,000 Double-Decker Motorhome | RIDICULOUS RIDES

A RENOWNED automotive artist has built a $500,000 motorhome that you can drive from the roof. Inspired by the 1980s sci-fi space traveller Flash Gordon, Randy from Oregon, spent over $100,000 in parts and 6,000 hours in manpower on the stylised mobile home - the Decoliner. Using the chassis of a 1973 GMC motorhome which sports a front-wheel drive, it allows enough space to stack the vehicle as a double decker and for an additional driving position on the roof. Randy told Barcroft TV: “I always get asked ‘is that legal?’ Well, it's not illegal.”

I saw this on Jay Leno's Garage a few years ago.
Titled "Ridiculous rides", but I don't think it's ridiculous. I think it's fantastic. I think that if such a vehicle enters mass production it will be a success. Even if some countries may not allow driving from the upper deck, the deck may still serve its purpose and offer panoramic views.
Its awesome but almost too perfect. I would worry about damaging it!

it's a nice idea, but I feel it should have been better looking , cleaner lines, then that.
the front end mismatches all the rest, it looks way to ordinary and bland.
the top cab thing nose looks squinted.. that single light is hideous.

Through his creativity from mental image to final form, the man has found his purpose.... you can't put a price tag on that! Others latch onto the creative expressions of others, which is why we gather to share over nostalgia (like this car show)
