My observations; Most single women in this age group have been emotionally broken. 2+ trainwreck marriages, decades of abusive relationships. Most never recover and are damaged for life. They come prepackaged with trust and emotional issues.

I’m 41 (m) and I’ve just met the love of my life a 45 year old (f). We’ve a lot in common: looking at maps, visiting historic places, hiking, reading, cooking etc. She’s a bit niche, which may be why she struggled to find a partner in her 30s (she had a 7 year relationship in her 20s, which collapsed due to her partner suffering from PTSD after serving in Iraq). Looks wise, she’s about a 5, I’m perhaps a 7. Love is out there, you just need to manage your expectations. My ex wife was a stunner and a nice person, but we just didn’t have the same intellectual interests to stay the course.
This is something that's true for both men and women, but especially for women. The primary driver of attraction is anxiety and uncertainty. I wish this weren't true, but it is. I think it's good for a man to be direct about liking a woman, finder her attractive, and asking her out on a date. But being direct about wanting a serious relationship with a woman of any age isn't good advice. Women need to understand that if shes dating a man in his 40s who has options (and you wouldn't like him if he didn't have options), that man has played the game time and time again. He's seen it all. There's a reason why men play games with women. It's not to be cruel or try to hurt her feelings. He does that because that's what works. A woman needs to feel like she's won that man over. A man needs to be a little mysterious to a woman. A man needs to create distants and anxiety with that woman so that her attraction can build for him. I wish that it were as simple as meeting a woman and saying "I like you, i want to be in a serious monogamous relationship with you." But unfortunately, that's just not how it works.

That’s absolutely true. Im in my mid 20s and I’ve dated 20 year old women, 30 year old women, 40 year old women, so on. You have to give them a little sense of mystery and make them feel like they have something to chase, otherwise dating isn’t really fun for them and they lose interest.
I can put it this way, have you ever played a videogame with cheat codes on? It’s a little like that. You can turn on invincibility and unlimited ammo and whatever else, and it might be fun for a couple minutes, but would you really want to play the entire game like that? Of course not. You’d just end up getting bored out of your gourd and turn the game off.

True. I've been direct on a dating site with women. I've seen women not reach back at all. I work as a private investigator and they wonder what that is. I dont make much money being a private investigator. I ain't no real detective. I've chatted a lot with women in their 40's that still look good but maybe they get scared. I've have been clingy with some women. I have learned that probably have found me as a good candidate but maybe may get afraid of dating so soon. I ain't no player type. Id like to date but in the same time not scared them. My friend tends to spend a lot of time dating but he plays women. The women he's dated tend to be easy women that want sex and then feel like playing him into committing. I'm not falling into that anymore. I have and I couldn't get a girl of my back. I need to be careful. I feel I might have to stop this on line dating for a while. I may seem desperate. I know the sex game and I know that a woman in their 40's want kids. They have been so jacked up in their past with men that I dont want them. A lot of women have kids already and some dont. I rather be single now at 42. I'm not gonna be desperate. My mental health and my overall health is more important than a woman controlling me. I've seen a lot of man fall into drugs and alcohol. Some even admit themselves into hospital for mental illness. Finding love is no guarantee forever. My mental health is much more important.

They are in your 20s where you left them. The only difference for a woman that wait until her 30s and beyond to get married is she will end up with a lower value male than she could have gotten in her 20s.

Looking for a little advice. So i meet a women that i was seeing professionally on her part, lets call me her exclient. She left her position and we still communicate on a personal level. 20 years ago I was 28 when these ladies were 22-28 years old, I tried and tried so hard to date a beautiful girl.. but it was enormous amount of work for me to keep the hotties… so instead I was dating a half way attractive girl for sex and fun while I focused on my career.

Some women would find your honesty refreshing. The challenge for you would be to make sure that the person you eventually sleep with is actually compatible with you. It is super easy to end up with a partner who you stay with because they are your only sex partner (my soon to be ex did that to me), but it doesn't work long term because you ignore potential struggles that eventually wear down the things that you shared that made it work in the beginning. This is why my husband and I are separating. We love each other and will always be friends, but we still failed as romantic partners because those differences slowly wore us down. We are now friends amicably coparenting, and it is a huge adjustment, and I can't even fathom dating right now. Honestly, with all the comments I am reading about women in their 40s being a waste of time to date (will soon be 39), I am terrified that I will just be used as a receptacle or end up in a codependent relationship or automatically be written off as unworthy of dating because of my age . Personally, I would prefer to stay married, but he doesn't love me that way anymore, and I wouldn't want him to fake it. I don't want that for you. It could be worse of a situation, but it is still confusing and hurtful. I was my husband's first, and we both clung to each other for dear life until their was nothing left of our romantic love. There is profound respect and care for each other, but no deeper love than friendship, and we will likely both potentially remain alone. This is a best case scenario. Most divorces don't proceed this way. I just want to make sure you know the pitfalls of the situation you might run into. It doesn't mean you will, but it is important to be mindful of this considering your situation. You being a virgin is nothing to be ashamed about, but don't let physical intimacy cloud your head once you do have sex.

I’ve got a special tip. Don’t do it. You shouldn’t be dating a woman in her 40s unless you’re in your 60s or older. Women in their 40s are well past their prime and should be catering to a man that shows them interest not have a list of expectations.

I am 21 now in last year of college so I am at least 2 decades younger than you and I never had a girlfriend but I wouldn't date a woman in her 40s now as she would be old enough to be my mom. I prefer girls in the 18 to 28 age range for now. I had been using tinder, bumble and hinge for almost a month but not even a single match. I have 4 crushes on real life. 3 are from my college and are 18-20 year olds and another is 23 or 24 from another institute.
