  • After purchasing a discounted 6.8 SPC bolt carrier group, I sourced the balance of the parts needed to throw together an upper receiver. Some of the parts were purchased from local gun shows, others came from gun shops in the area.

    6.8 SPC is a fantastic round. If you handload, you can actually get the intended performance out of it.

    The journey of a thousand miles begins with the bolt carrier group. Or something like that 😆

    I often considered it. But its scarce brass wise. I had a few hundred but sold it off.
    I think Im gonna try a 400 Legend next. I have a complete upper assembly minus a barrel. Was all set ta go 300 Ham'R but...

      @WilliamCChapin  Рік тому +2

      I’m guessing there will be a couple new “deer hunting” cartridges a year for awhile. I figured 400 Legend would happen, I’m predicting that there will be 375 Buckhammer in the near future. I’m still holding out for 358 JackWagon! 🤔

      @@WilliamCChapin Ill have a 360 BH. But not terribly driven. Id like a CVA Scout in that and they not making one yet. So Id have to have it made.
      So the 400 is quicker cheaper and easier. (Just need barrel)

      Thanks, Mr. Pollard! I may need to get creative to try cast out of it…there isn’t much room for the bullet - it needs a short ogive.

      @@WilliamCChapin I was thinking cast bullet when you stated a 1/11 twist ? I don't know enough about that cartridge to say if that twist is good or bad ?

      @jamespollard1670 1:11 is the most common twist in this chambering.
