    Just bought a boat myself here in Minnesota. Although mine is an inboard. I’m sure a lot of people can benefit from this video. Great job!

    Cool boat. Looks like you have done a lot of fixing it up. Next time a trip on the lake speed boatin ! Hopefully you don’t have to do this again! You make this look easy to do but if you drop one screw down that hole bet it gets way harder. Can’t wait to see the next video

    I have this exact motor. It’s a boat that was given to me. I have no idea how to check if the motor works because I don’t know where the water goes in to cool the engine. And I know that you can’t start the engine without the water going through the cooling system.

      You need to get a thing called “flush muffs”, Walmart sells them. There’s a water intake on the lower unit down near the propeller. To feed cooling water to the motor, place the flush muffs over the intake, connect a water hose to it and turn on the water. Then you should be able to safely run the motor.
