  • Jill Harpin: A once-avid hiker - she’d climbed Mount Washington ten times - Jill Harpin was rendered permanently paralyzed after a freak fall off a hotel balcony in 2016. She now joins ‘For the Hayters’ to discuss her newfound confidence after her accident, and how it’s helped her navigate today’s dating world: “I used to only swipe right on guys who were over six feet tall…but, uh, my standards have lowered a bit,” jokes Jill. Tune in TODAY on our UA-cam channel to watch Jill’s story.

Love this segment. I’m paralyzed as well. I’ve been paralyzed for the last 4 years due to having brain cancer twice. I’ve been with my husband for 9 years and I’m so thankful he didn’t leave me because of what happened to me, our love just got stronger 💜💜

Her dating bio was so condescending, "I only used to swipe right on guys over 6' but im in a wheelchair now so my standards have literally lowered", i hope that wasnt real, I've been in a wheelchair for ten years, imagine me saying i would only swipe right on girls under 120lbs but im disabled so i might settle for you now

I understand the not being able to know when you have to pee. I’ve peed on my husband a few times and we just laugh about it 😂

Thank you for sharing. That’s an awesome story. You’re an inspiration. I’m t4 paraplegic man. In my experience it seems different with able-body women towards me or maybe I’m going about it all wrong? I’m not sure. You just have to roll with the punches.

Wow she's so brave! I struggle with health issues myself and it really affects my self-esteem and datinglife. I had to wear a brace in highschool because of scoliosis and a few years ago I needed to have surgery on my back. I still haven't accept the scar and the way my back looks so I try to hide it underneath my clothes as much as possible and don't talk about it with anyone. Not even all my friends know about it. I don't go on dates and I'm a 24yo virgin for that reason, but I would like to feel loved by someone special so bad 😢 It's really difficult for me to find the courage to date because I'm so afraid for rejection because of my healthproblems.

No offense(previous comment), bless you and your strength through your struggle… but I also don’t believe for a sec your dating life hasn’t changed. Why lie to try and push positivity? Be natural about it..

I am determined to find a paraplegic or quadraplegic woman to love to cherish to marry and spend the rest of my life with !!!!!
