Such a great bloke. A national treasure. 😊
One of the greatest rock songs of all time, played by the one of the greatest musicians of all time. Spectacular.
I was trying to think of an appropriate accolade, but thankfully you’ve done it already; well said sir! 🎹etc🍾❤️
It's one of my favourite songs of any genre, and I wouldn't even say I'm a die hard Yes fan
@@MikeFloutier pity about the singers.
Wowzers
It's a great track, albeit Wakeman wasn't with Yes when it was written and recorded and this in no way is Yes of course.
It’s 6 January 2025 and the UK is going bonkers politically, economically, socially and culturally. THIS IS JUST THE FLIPPIN’ TONIC I NEEDED TO RESTORE MY FAITH IN HUMANITY. thank you, thank you, thank you
@simonyoung509 good grief
Well said
You think the UK is bad?? Try the US! And you are correct, the world needs entirely more if this and no politics at all
@ don’t worry Trump is on the way and WORLD change about to take place.
It's now 7th January and there's a slight improvement.
Real music, played by real musicians! Skill, energy and heart. No AI will ever be able to do that. KEEP MUSIC LIVE.
..FORGETTING ALREADY HOW GOOD, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY GOOD YES WAS IN ITS HEYDAY?? REAl musicians and real skills, talent, imagination and whatever else was around to supply YES with THE MAGIC!!??? YES YES YES!!!
@@manalishiprodsYES!!! You said it so very well.
Such young musicians having a grasp of a feeling in this music that was way before their lives. This is REALLY GOOD!
I like Yes and I like AI. I like Palestinians and I like boomers. Must be something wrong with me.
@@mattlove1 what's Palestine got to do with it?
I met Rick Wakeman at Maine Road just over 20 years ago. I approached him with "Excuse me, Mr Wakeman..." to which he responded "It's Rick please". Enough said.
Rick & YES for ever ! Simply the best !
Seeing Rick and Adam playing together was the treat I didn't know I needed today. Cheers for this, made my day.
Rick Wakeman was and is a musical genius! Thanks for sharing this!
What an amazingly brilliant jam by all the musicians... Brought a tear to my eye watching Rick proudly watching his son... 'the banjo stylee duel' at the end Absolutely Epic!
YES!
Look at these people! Oh My God! This is what the World needs! MUSIC. THIS reminds me of ...the time at a previous live performance with Brian May. What a show! Adam dueling with hi Dad, precious!
Lol
He is a Genius, I work for him and Nina in the 80s so happy to see he's still going strong
Rick Wakeman remains one of the greatest living embodiements of what music means to this world. This is an absolute gift for someone like myself who grew up as a percussionist influenced by Yes. Bravo!!
More than a National treasure Rick is the very embodiment of the History of Rock Music in which he has played so very big a part. I missed Jon's voice, but otherwise an excellent rendition of this classic which I still have on both the original album and a copy of Yessongs signed by Rick Himself.
He's one of the few Global Treasures.
God bless Rick! The funniest guy in rock music!❤ Just awesome…..
I worked with rick. Many years ago. He always brings a smile. Love this
I`ll just keep on saying it. Rick is an absolute treasure.
Rick Wakeman - proper old school legend. Blessed to still have him so vibrant.
That's pretty classy playing a Yes tune from before he joined the band.
This is truly stunning. Great jam in on of the greatest pieces of music ever. Just wonderful.
Love Love LOVE This- Absolutely Wonderful!
old ricks got the old cape out lol great musician ,with a good sense of humour
Amazing musicians, amazing music.
Absolutely bloody awesome! Great to see Rick still going strong👍👍👍👍👍
Rick Wakeman is a consumate musician who is a true master of his craft!!
Rick is such a funny guy and a bloody talented musician.
He made me laugh on grumpy old men where he showed what a real character he is.
Simply brilliant, and great to see him still and enjoying himself whilst providing amazing entertainment for us all
Amo lo qué haces Rick , es un deleite auditivo y visual además de la calidad de los músicos que te acompañan, admiro como los dejas crecer en el escenario ¡eres único! ¡Eres el mejor! Saludos desde México
Oh, the Pride on a Father's face as he performs with his talented son. What a wonderful collaboration!
Thank you for sharing! ❤🤗❤️
Quite liked the lovely ladies on stage here. Visuals aside, the two voices switching in and out on the vocal line works quite well IMO.
Mollie Marriott is the daughter of Steve, (Small Faces/Humble Pie)
Wembley empire pool 1978.Tormato tour, Matinee show, Yes took the bloody roof off with starship trooper, and Rick's amazing moog soloing along with Steve Howes iconic guitar soloing, were the cherry on top. I was there. Some music I will take to my grave.
Me to 😊
I saw Yes back in 78 on the tormato tour also. At the Chicago international amphitheater and I had first row and the show was in the round. Rejoice and circus of heaven were awesome. It was more than a rock concert. It was something else higher that I don't have a name for.
Was this the show with the revolving stage?
@STOKEKNOB yes indeed it was. With the 'close encounters' opening
I was there!!!! It was amazing awesome and every single other superlative you can add!
I thank you ever so much for sharing this amazing one off performance.
My tickets are booked for Cropredy 2025.
It’s the absolute highlight of my year. Most definitely the Worlds Most Friendly Festival.
@@gordonbell7789 lol
Oh amazing- pity God couldn’t have just dropped Chris in there for the bass solo- big shoes to fill 😢
How fun was THAT! you don't often get to see father and son playing together. thanks for sharing this!
I was blessed to see Rick in Trenton one night in the 70s .he played for 3 hours or so . AMAZING. saw YES 5 times in Philly
Love the Yes tribute to FREE BIRD HERE
Saw them at the Spectrum almost every concert they played. Sometimes on consecutive nights.... Rick would make dust rain from the rafters
Un monstre de la musique, irremplaçable. Et bravo à tous ses autres musiciens, du pur bonheur
Rick is surely a great and funny person and a superb musican.. Long may he reign..
Read his autobiography - I can promise you'll end up being sick with laughter.
Rick and keith emerson best two ever. Seen them both live. Rick in ABWH one of my fav concerts 1989 edinburgh an evening of yes songs
I was there too. Playhouse . Wonderful evening. Tony Levin was the bass player.
Reason I'm a YES fan, or was, Because of ABWH. I was hooked with that record
Stunning! And it just gets stunninger and stunninger! Love it!!!
It is such a joy to hear this song and to see Adam & Rick play at each other.
Added to all time Cropredy highlights - another old dog yet with much life in (apologies Rick!) and what a crew! So happy to have been there in front of the stage for best of live excitement!
Bloody hell that was good!
Wow, just wow. No words can express how incredible this is for infinity reasons. What a song and what an ending, everyone smiling and just so happy making music together, everyone so incredibly talented and I’m just loving Rick and Adam playing together, proudly looking at each other. Thank you all ever so much. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🎶🎹❤️🥳
I saw YES the first time in the round with Rick wakeman. Stellar concert!! Then got to see them in one of the free downtown Orlando concerts and they had Rick Wakeman's son playing keyboards just like his father! Amazing, it was another wonderful show! ❤❤ thankyou for so much Great music and memories! Rick wakeman's solo vinyls are also a fun ride.
One word, phenomenal. Not seen playing with so much enthusiasm since watching Nick Mason in Manchester. Thank you for uploading this.
Great seeing Nick in Gateshead 2024, the Rodger gong call😂
Watched Rick Wakeman at caster holiday camp many years ago did a great set
What fun.. discovered by pure chance… thank you UA-cam… thank you Rick..and Rock Ensemble….
I love the way Rick always switches stuff up. Even though I could listen to the original versions forever, I still love all the versions. Sometimes your brain gets stuck on a particular performance, and it's great to scratch that itch.
His one encore song is longer than some concerts.
A really exciting new take on the classic and great to see Steve Marriott’s daughter Molly enjoying the challenge thoroughly and doing a fab job , Rick will always be a my all time favourite keyboardist followed by Tony Banks , be great to see the pro camera and sound recording they were making too
Pure brilliance - enough said!
Great little ditty. And so great to see this fine fine music carry on to younger generations
Last time I saw you Rick at Tower in Philly. I yelled out for Jon to sign you up after he went over your list of talents
Excelente Rick y Adam con su Banda ! Los vi en Argentina hace varios años pero siempre es un placer. Gracias !
A terrific recording of a fantastic concert, Thank you for the upload and the memories.
Father son duel was fantastic!!
Nothing but pure joy watching this.
G'day to you, We saw Rick live here in Perth West Aust. he played "Journey to the Centre of the Earth and Six Wives of Henry 8th " it was Brilliant , freak out a few Folk who were Stoned when the Dinosaurs appeared on stage, great Memories, great to see Him still going! Armadale West Aust.
I ADORE the wonderful Rick Wakeman.
Well that made my day 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Great performance 👍
What a wonderful day that was - I was on the front rail for this 😀😀😀
Just amazing and true musicians that are masters of their craft. A great upload.
No airs or graces, just a proper , genuine Englishman. Rick you are a national treasure.❤
Brilliant video and channel! Glad I found you!
Good Day. I saw YES in Albuquerque New Mexico in 1974 while I was in the Air Force. Great Concert.
Impresionante !!!! Claudio desde Río Gallegos Patagonia Argentina
Rick such a musical genious and yet so humble in. his music....lots of love to him from an old fart..
Beautiful. I love to hear Rick Wakeman playing.
@marielamiserable5174 yes but minus the abysmal vocalists would be nice.
Singers a little pitchy , dawg
A great Starship Trooper, special two Wakeman treatment and wonderful female vocalists!
@@AndrewKazmierski lol
Thanks for uploading this classic Yes song performed by Rick Wakeman and E.R.E.! This performance of Starship Trooper is outstanding. Check out the interview that Rick Beato did with Rick Wakeman. His sense of humor is wonderful and the stories that he told were amazing. I only wish the interview had been longer! 🎸🎹
What a nice guy having fun and make fantastic music
.FORGETTING ALREADY HOW GOOD, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY GOOD YES WAS IN ITS HEYDAY?? REAl musicians and real skills, talent, imagination and whatever else was around to supply YES with THE MAGIC!!??? YES YES YES!!!
10:50 onwards, that's a lovely tone and some fine grooving from Mr Bass bravo 👏👏👏
Matt pegg
@NickGroves-ov7jwThank you 🤓👍
The end with Journey to the Center of the Earth! Such great memories.
Rick e Adam Wakeman. Sempre um show à parte.✌❤🎼 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I’m from Singapore and I’ve been a fan since the 1970s, from Yes, through King Arthur, Journey, to ABWH right up to this day, including Mars and all the other solo stuff. Not only his brilliant keyboard skills but also his captivating self-deprecating humour (remember the prostate exam joke at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction?), this man is a true legend. Thanks for the music and the memories Rick, please don’t ever stop !
Love this. Rick please do something again with Jon Andreson or even Rabin. I can’t get enough of anything Yes 🙏
It's amazing to think by the time Rick was Adam's age here, Yes records Fragile, Close To The Edge, and Yessongs were 25 years in Rick's past. So glad Rick is still with us!.
This song is direct from heaven.
the wurm section is the ultimate jam session in prog.
Great to see rick still tickling the ivories....and still having fun while killing it!
Rick is legend in his own lifetime.
A long term Yes fan, but only recently have I became more familiar with Rick, his early years and what a great sense of humour he has.
All touring bands should take note of his opening comments 😂😂
Just fab 👍🙏🏻
Rick is the man!
🔦🔦The Light still Pours out of R W!!🔦🔦
Saw yes on their Fragile tour, Rick had not long joined them. and I was at the Cropredy Festival. Fantastic.
Thanks so much for share this video, great.🙏
I’m sure most or all of you know how much of a genius Rick Wakeman is.
Thank you to the rest of the band.
Just brilliant performances from brilliant musicians
This is BLISSFUL. Exactly why live music can be so beautiful.
Lol
“I knew your mum”. Classic Rick.
What an experience it was back in the early 70s. I ordered 10 cassette tapes from some magazine for one penny. (with a promise to pay more later which I don’t think they ever received). The yes fragile album was the best thing and still the best.
Wakeman forever!!!!
I could see his 4 times in Brazil. Amazing!!!!
Thanks Rick!! ❤❤❤❤ Love the ensemble.... P.S. - The drummer is phenomenal, just as good as Bruford or White.
Hardly
@@campbeja001 Hardly what? Are you a drummer?
My favorite Yes song, and best performed live... love to see Rick and Adam jam to it!! Its a pleasure watching the singers smile while singing... it means they enjoy it... unlike Jons replacement with the curent version of yes... he is so uninspired! thank you posting this !
Simply awesome 😎
A hell of a jam. Not Chris Squire but that bassist is awesome! Just great playing all around.
Oh Yeah! He was playing some awesome fat ass bass!
Saw Rick and Adam play together in San Francisco in the 90’s, amazing to see them together in this recent clip. Rick and Adam are both masters at it. I wish Rick lost a few lbs though, he’s looking a bit heavy. Oh well, I love my heroes!
Love me a bit of Rick Bacon ❤🎶
First Time Saw Rick
was On a round Stage
That rose in middle of
The Floor with him sitting
at a Large Organ at the
Space Cafe at
DisneyWorld in Orlando
Playing Like Captain Nemo on the Nautilus
A Fantastic Solo Performanc 🎹
A genuine, skillfull and moving musical performance!
This made my day!
This sends chills
This song’s riff is instantly recognizable and iconic.
Thanks Rick,you got this👍
