I bought the giant bottle and was not loving it at first; regretted it. But the more I smell it, and let it sit on my skin the more I love it! The initial spray smells of sunscreen/beach/fig then move to FLORAL, (creamy/musk)/fig/ sweet rose, etc while it keeps evolving and moving. It's definitely not a Hawaiian getaway, but a modern French/Mediterranean one. Give it a chance, keep sniffing it and you will LOVE IT haha.- I agree, Similar to BSavage, sweeter, & not woody.
It just gets sweeter and and sweeter on my skin and not the good kind of sweet but rather a synthetic sweet that really does not work for me. 💖
@@essence-tiallydacob9611 It is still growing on me; -after 4 hours, I got hints of coconut/sunscreen; sort of similar to Tom Ford Soleil Blanc. - and at this point, any hints of Balade Savage have left the room. balade savage was an easier one to like right away. - I just cannot accept MFK not having not released a stunner,, I refuse to accept it, so maybe the beach/coconut is resurfacing in my head. haha. the fig turned coconutty
OMG your description of the target of this perfume is EXACTLY what I had in mind when I smelled this! I find it so boring, lacking so much courage, it’s a shame. It seems like Chanel is doing all the audacious things while Dior is playing it safe!
Dior definitely tried to play it safe with this one but the result is very boring. I wonder though… is this one going to sell a lot? Probably will sell great this summer and then die out in autumn… lol… but we shall see 😉

Oh! The burn! I guess I'll just stick to my 2006 formulation of L'Artisan Parfumeur's Premier Figuier by award-winning Olivia Giacobetti for developing the first-ever fig accord in 1994.
It’s a joke like 99% of the new collection privee perfumes.
It truly is disappointing.
It actually is the worst from the collection, together with Lucky. My opinion, of course.
I am wearing it today..have a small bottle given to me and I have to say I am loving it in this warm weather...😊

Oh my goodness. Because of your recommendation and love of Eau Noir, I finally bought a 250 ml bottle. It’s so beautiful. I can smell it all day long and even on my reading spectacles . Thank you Dacob. But not a lover of this new fig one.

Also very very dissapointed. I sprayed this in my bathroom also, and it hung out in there for a hundred years, whatever I did, giving me something between nausea and irritation. To me this smells like a sour teenager.

I don’t think he wanted to hit a home run right off the bat because then there would be that pressure to always hit a home run. That’s a lot of pressure….someone who has a lot of money but not a lot of taste I think you just described most of gen z 😅😂😅 they love scents like this lol

Having smelt works such as Laudamiel's Fig My Love for The Zoo NYC which is a breathtakingly photorealistic take on the fig fruit, leaf and sap, I find I cannot discern a legitimate attempt at a fig accord in Dioriviera. To me it smells of cut flower stems soaking in body lotion and that impression of lotion is probably from the shy rose accord, which seems to be apologising for its presence. You're right to call it bland and the dry down is completely predictable from the beginning. Agree with your assessment of the target audience as well. It is sad to think there were far more interesting mainstream "masculine" releases in the 00s than this drivel, considering formula cost and concept are usually dumbed down for such perfumes. I will conclude with saying that to pay proper respect to the fig fruit, you need to include a sulphurous facet which can be challenging to dose and this was not attempted here either.

I really believe Dior and LVMH will allow Francis to be creative, once he has a smash hit. I believe they are holding out for his “Sauvage”.
Regardless, I do plan on getting a couple of samples so I can play with it! As always, I do appreciate you being honest❤!

Aww...I actually enjoy this one (tho not yet a love) but we can't all like the same things otherwise the world wouldn't go round and round. I appreciate your review! To me, this is much better than Eden-Roc, Tobacolor, and Vanilla Diorama by a mile. Funny, I prefer this to Cologne Blanche but Eau Noire is still the best from Kurkdjian for Dior.
And what about Bois d’Argent? 🥹 but also, yes, I agree with you that Dioriviera is better than all the last Den,achy for Dior perfumes. For sure. But still… this one is too much modern Dior collection privee and too little Francis! Francis needs to step out of the shadow more and dare to innovate instead of trying to fit into the preset mode this collection has gotten to. 💖🙏🏻
@@essence-tiallydacob9611 Agreed. Shockingly, I don’t have Bois d’Argent in my collection. I really tried to love it, even after testing it 20+ times over years now. :( I gave up on it - our relationship wasn’t meant to be 😂.
So strange - I have been really enjoying my sample of this - which I did not expect. It’s nothing groundbreaking but it does have something lovely about it on my skin in the heat xxx

I have La Colle Noire from the privee collection and it is my favorite perfume out of them all. A lot of people love Gris Dior but on my skin I’m personally not a fan

Gris Dior is nice but I too need to wear it in autumn and not always cuz it can go weird on my skin in the wrong temperature or time of year.

Expecting completely different fragrance from Him . This is lovely …..just the performance is very weak on my skin 🎈
On me the sweetness takes over after an hour and then it just annoys me with a synthetic sweet smell for a few more hours. Lol
I get different performance when I dab versus spray from an atomizer. Do you notice a difference when you spray this?
There is a difference for sure with all perfumes when we spray versus dab. I sprayed it in the boutique. The spray hits the drydown sooner. Its hence sweeter. 🥰
With what you said on the dior collection prive, top 3, do you recommend getting the trio that came out last year/2021?
That is the re edition of the trio. Sure. If you want to get all three you can get the set but the set does not cost less than if you got the three separately in 40ml each at Dior. So it doesn’t matter really. I would prefer getting them separately cuz that way you get a box for each perfume on its own instead of one big box where all three bottles are housed in together.

As a collector of all things Dior Privée Dioriviera indeed feels unfinished and out of place. Thought Acqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi have much more depth, sadly already discontinued but i digress. I cant help but think that the people behind Dior Privée is still treating its market like a newbie.
I’ll continue sinking my expendable income in stocking up on bottles that are disappearing fast. I recently added New Look1947 and Spice Blend, and also bought an old stock bottle of Milly La Foret directly from the Dior NYC flagship who doesn’t even carry fragrance anymore (it was a fluke- I spied a forgotten, 10 year old bottle in a drawer at the boutique and snatched it up. It will always be my fave from this collection). I’ll never blind buy from this range it’s WAY too hit or miss. I bought decants of the missing bits from my collection. Belle De Jour is nice but I don’t want a giant bottle and that’s all that’s left on the site. Happy Hour is literally just that. I’m happy, and then an hour later is completely gone 😂 Happy FOR and hour is more like it. Grand Bal-enjoyable but originally not quite hunt down a bottle enjoyable. It kept lingering in my memory, which is my sign to buy and I hunted a 1/2 full large bottle for a steal on eBay. That should be enough to scratch that itch! Thanks for keeping it real. I’ll get my nose on this new release eventually, but am no longer in a rush. I trust your nose it has yet to steer me wrong!

Yep. Thats my stance on this. I know its somewhat sad but hey, the good part is that original three are still to this day breathtaking to me so its worth it.

I received the sample a couple of days ago, I was so excited about it and gave it a good shot, but it is really mainstream leaning and it has a lingering candle smell in the background that makes me almost hate it. I can’t understand what they were thinking with this release, honestly.
