  • TCG Designers Mike, Sean, and Rafa share their favorite picks from the Sorcery: Contested Realm Design-A-Card Contest.
Get to know the design team and hear their thoughts on the card designs submitted for the Sorcery Design-A-Card event.
With over 140 cards submitted this was a tough one and, while there were a lot of amazing mechanics, clever designs, and witty submissions, the team was limited to selecting 6 Sites!
Congratulations to the winners, who will receive a Blank Sorcery: Contested Realm sample card.

Daria is chuffed to bits that her entry was chosen as a winner! We had an absolute blast participating in this competition, it was such an excellent idea - kudos to whoever came up with it.

Congrats folks, lots of super cool site submissions! Thanks again EC for a wonderful peek into the design room!
In terms of more designer videos, I would love to see some of the "post-it note" iterations of the Beta Elementals that were talked about ages ago, if possible at some point! ♥

19:20 The art on this card is cool, but the game effect design is actually a bad idea in my opinion - this is a surefire way to grind the game down slower by saying NO to things happening. We don't want that, or at least, in my experience, it's better to avoid this type of negating effect. We want to be able to play our cards, not "NO" them out of playability. Interaction is better than non-interaction, it is more interesting.
That's my 2 cents worth as a MTG player since 1997 (and now quit because of how ridiculous magic has become), I hope someone from the Sorcery team listens to it. Cheers.
