Kicking hard is an understatement with those old shotguns. I've got an old Cooey, essentially a Canadian-made model 37, and it kicks hard enough to bruise the hell out of my shoulder. Never quite fired anything that actually hurts to shoot, but this thing does it haha. Firing slugs through it is an exercise in bracing for impact.
