Fish oil from Kippered snacks , put it on a stick , put it in the trap and instant raccoon . I've had sets torn up , plus I get to eat the kippers for my lunch on the line .
i only put the bait just a tiny bit over the trigger, i want them caught soon and without a lot of messing with the trap, any more than that and it's just free food
I definitely would not use that in anything but a DP trap. I wondered how people caught cats in those. I on average get 40 cats the first 2 weeks of trapping for K-9. I have caught one in a tree with marshmallow, apple and bubblegum. And one in a creek 2 miles from any house using cherry brandy on a cotton ball ( trap under water). Great bait because of the anise and fish smell but not for me. I will try it a few times for laughs and if I am lucky enough to get a skunk in a DP trap I'll send you a video.
This seems to me to be a huge, unnecessary hassle. I've used good old fashioned dry cat food for years with excellent results. Have caught hundreds of raccoons and opposums. Works everytime.
Made this and caught nothing after after a week. I have a dozen dogproofs and usually have a catch almost everyday using my usual mix of dry cat food with sardines tuna or mackerel. Will add some to this batch and try it again.
Coons, like rats, will eat anything edible. I trapped for 30 years and never paid for "snake oil", which is what they might as well be trying to sell, One season I used eel on the triggers of my 220s and many times a single piece would last for weeks before the birds and mice got to it. Don't know if it would work in a dog proof but the coons love it. Try anything that stinks in your trap but put an attractant above it as a call.

Could you possibly do a video on making a feral hog trap? ive seen people make them out of tote tank shells before.
sorry, we have no feral hogs here, I'm not sure how to make one
Thank you for the tips 😘
No problem 😊, anytime!
Gonna give this a try!!
you won't be sorry
Great idea I never thought of twizzlers
They work Great !!
Funny, my mom has always put the extra bacon grease into our dog dry food and they go nuts for it.
No Grape jelly?
How much bait do you put in the DP? I am new and have the Bridger T3's, pull. Ive heard not to over fill? Any truth to that?

Hell ya going to try this. Have you tried adding the artificial vanilla flavoring too? This is super inexpensive.
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
How long will the bait keep?

I'll look forward to the video....
Cats don't eat with there feet.
Wondering if the black bears up there bother your sets? They love bacon.
Never thought of licorice, I knew anise oil, I will try some time .
You won't regret it, it's a great all around bait...
NBWildman I have used corn , bacon grease and flower, sardines , anise , and cat food
Good stuff
I definitely need to try this. It’ll still work well even without the bacon grease right?
Yes it does!, but the grease does help
NBWildman How long does the bacon grease typically last for you? Also how do you store it?

No problem
Any substitute for bacon grease?
not that i know of, it's kinda one of the keys
Three ingredients, and you want to replace one?🤣
Should try freezing twizzlers first the breaking them up with a hammer in a freezer bag.
Great idea...never thought of that...
Sardines work just as good
Ive tried making this several times but I eat all the Twizzlers.
I always have to buy double...i should have said that in the video
