This time we take a look at the recruitable Skeletons of Kenshi... the voices were fun in this one. Reuploading due to editing mistake, many apologies.
@@sebastiangibson9671 That's nothing special at all. I have developed the habbit of training all my Characters to 70 stats before building a base. Spent the last 5 hours or so flattening beak thing nests in the western hive regions with Burn alone. Made a shiiit ton of money with that.
The relationship between Agnu and Beep is precious. One of the few things in the desolate and brutal world of Kenshi that is actually uplifting. Unfortunately, good things rarely last in the world of Kenshi. In my current playthrough, Beep tragically died in Arach while trying to take out the Bug Master. We all fought like hell to save him, but those damn spiders tore him apart along with 2 of my best soldiers. Agnu was silent for days following the encounter, but just as we managed to limp back to our base in the fog islands, one of my characters was talking about how they missed Beep and his antics. When they mentioned his name, Agnu suddenly broke from the group and started shouting "BEEEEEEP!!!" This was the only time I ever heard Agnu produce anything other than growls or screams. Then, one of my party members said something that has stuck in my memory ever since: "He's gone buddy. Beep's not coming back..." God man, I fucking cried. I miss the little shit, he didnt deserve to die like that in Arach. I won't set foot in that place ever again, lest I lose Agnu too. Not again.
@@Poliswag7 the temptation is hard, I know, but just rolling with it and not reloading honestly makes the game feel so much more alive. Your decisions suddenly have consequences, and theres so much more tension to every move you make. The hard part is that you just gotta hold yourself to it, and embrace the uncertainty
@@someguardsman im also a save scummer but I don’t feel shame about it idk it saves the frustration of losing my favourite character (saddy neily) sad Neil and also bc my computer is crap i have to keep my squad small so losing people hurts me more
@@someguardsman I try to limit it to only when characters I care alot about die, as long as theyre still alive I wont reload. I will say the times that I didn't reload (probably because I didn't want to lose progress I made) I remember and think about the most. I had to let one of my skeletons I named Nail die during a black dragon raid and I feel like that motivated the other squad members to accomplish each of their goals, to remember him, in my little head lore at least lol.
i feel like deep down neil actually heavily enjoys the fact that he’s a part of something that is trying to pursue a better life, as most of his basic depression dialogue is when you’re killing others and he talks about how much he despises it so i think he honestly just craves a peaceful life lmao
I though sadneil was nos special in my first run, he even died by friendly crossbow fire (did not even noticed until the death text) and now I got jim back and set him to use the turrets only because I was just playing with hivers and only one human that had a cool dialogue(and now i remember to get Ruka) then foudn agnu and was going to make them talk together to see if they have any interaction
I'm always interested in synthetic races in games. The synths from fallout 4, the geth in mass effect, and of course, droids from star wars. I honestly believe we will never have truly "sentient" robots in our world, not to the extent of anything like the skeletons, but i find it incredibly interesting to speculate on them. The skeletons are unique in that, in other settings the robots usually have the ability to live a long time, but in kenshi, all skeletons are extremely old. I remember i played for 100 hours before I realized this. I was traveling from the HN to the UC, and I saw a random skeleton drifter on the road, and it hit me. This random dude wearing leathers and carrying a staff is older then my entire group combined, and he's just wandering from place to place. It's fascinating to think about a skeletons mechanical mind. These three examples of how a skeleton deals with old age make it obvious that skeletons have emotions, sensations, and more. If we accept this as true, then what sort of technology did the ancients have to make these truly living machines, and not have them go completely insane after a few generations of getting to know humans, seeing them die, and repeating?
I imagine through storing data in hard-drives of sorts, or the cloud, if they had something similar to that here, a huge database connected by an internet of sorts that served to store the skeleton's memories and data, probably the whole reset thing is rather a procedure they had to take due to this internet not being a thing anymore and losing access to the tech to recreate it after the fall of the first empire.
I have met a skeloton named Narps who was roaming about near the fishing village and got into a fight. After repairing him and chosing the right dialogue options, he agreed to join. I'm not sure if this is a unique recruit, however the recruitment method seemed very organic and unique.
IMO Agnu and Beep get along because of their personalities. Agnu seems to be a damaged/malfunctional soldierbot and this could simply be caused by the thrallmasters conducting some experiments on her. Many other soldierbots seem to be bugged out as well, so it's possible that Agnu is just another broken one. However, her not being able to communicate with anything else than growl means it's hard for her to express anything and possibly some other damage makes her to have rather childish nature, just like Beep.
I went after the bug master with sadneil, burn, and a generic skeleton name gecko. I leveled all their martial arts to 95, killing the spiders was easy, but i understimated bug master. He wipe us out, destroyed sadneil right arm and his 2 legs, however sadneil was still punching him despite losing 3 limbs manage to take down bug master. Sadneil literally save us lol.
interesting analysis on how the 3 show the possible endings of the skeletons. Just one detail, Angu is a girl! She considers herself to be female in the random event where Beep comments on having a beautiful human female as a trophy.
Interestingly, i just rewatched this and noticed i switched from gender neutral to male pronouns half way through the section on her. I must've been unsure on Agnu's gender when I was writing this haha
@@Rasengangstarr Yeah there are quite a few speculations about that. I read someone said Agnu did it to mess with Beep, since Beep doesn't really understand female much at that time or just wanted Beep for themselves.
well to be fair, agnu doesnt truly confirm it themself. agnu only speaks in growls. we go based off of beeps reaction, which is evidence to support the claim but isnt undeniable proof.
@@marltonmanks9891 Your comment is well timed, as I recently realized that there is a universal language in the world, the car horn. It has only one sound and few words, but you can understand them all. You will understand that someone is calling your attention or saying hello to you, if they only give a slight honk, or the classic "beep beep"; but you will also know all the rude things they want to say to you if they give you a long, uninterrupted honk. Beyond adding physical movements that enhance their statements, Agnu communicates through this means, sound language, so it would be safe to say that Agnu managed to communicate and say "what about me?" Finally, when you walk through the hives, more than once you will see that they communicate with a sound language as well, which explains why Beep manages to communicate with her, communicating only with sounds is not foreign to him.
I don't think that's a unique recruit just a generic skeleton recruit that has a very low chance to spawn at the hub, in one of my playthroughs a skeleton named Fuumin spawned in the bar at the hub.
I remember sadneil winning his first fight in my playthrough. He was like "Well...Im a murderer now. It will only go downhill from here..."
I purposely put Sadneil in my most dangerous exploration, since he had mentioned his life was sad and cyclical.
@@fieryblender7174 I made saddy boy my heavy weapons guy and he can now solo 5 beak things :D
i literally always make neil my strongest unit 😭

"Know how boring it is when you can SOLO five beak things? My life lacks challenge as much as if does meaning."

I love how Sadneil comes across as a depressed tsundere "I'll join you, but it's not because I like you or anything"
the Skeletons are my favourite race due to the amount of dialogue they have to do with the past.
Who would think the machines would end up having so much personality?
And also the dark secret they are holding.

Three robots and three states of mind after all those wars: depression, wisdom and madness. Thank you, you helped me understand Kenshi world deeper.
I aleays had the theory that Agnu was a failed thrall, also that sadneil had a group that he lost in the cannibal plains
Sadneil is amazing. Love his honesty
Agnu is a precious bean that deserves protection
Sadneil got strong marvin the android from hitchhiker's guide energy, very interesting characters.
I hope i got that across with his voice :D if you need a character to sound despondent, just mix in some birmingham to the accent hahaha
Sadneil is fun to have. He'll either remorse or just be acceptance that killing is part of his job now xD
Easily 3 of the best companions in the entire game. But of course, nothing tops the god king of Kenshi.
Beep

with how fast AI is developing we'll have something even more advanced in 10 years, though that's a very uncomfortable thought

Ty for sharing mate ❤
I changed Sadneil's name to Neil so he won't be sad anymore. 💀💀
I like your voiceover work. You made Sadneil sound exactly like the robot from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
I'm happy you like the photo I took of my Cyber Beep

Thank god I finally found a channel that does Kenshi lore
Sad Niel is a reference to the British comedy "The Young Ones."
Another grand video, such great quality, amazing work.
Sadneil is the robot from hichikers guide to the galaxy lol
Agnu is a reference to the head less clone of agnu from Futurama and i love it

>me who sent Sadneil to work as steel processor for the rest of the 100 hour playthough
Sadneil died for me today :*(
Did the deva hide anything if you take Sadneil to a plastic surgeon and rename him Neil?
What was the soundtracks you used for this video? I would love to listen to them.
I thought i was the only one who gave all human, skeleton and shek characters a southern american accent
BRO ! great video !!!
Can you pls make a video on all the unique recruits with unique dialogue
I'm working on it! there are many characters :D but in the meantime I've done ones on Ruka and Beep which you can find on my channel :)
wow i fucking love this video
Nice! Good work man!
I thnk thats why we call them skeleton .they are not machine actually i thnk they are dead people.
