Funny enough, He's not the one that made this arrangement. JerryC is the original that made the backing track and uploaded the first video of himself playing Canon Rock. This guy just took JerryC's backing track and uploaded his own video.
This guy can not imagine how important this video was in my entire childhood. I watched him totally enchanted, and dreaming of one day being able to play like that, or at least having a guitar that at the age of 12 had not yet. And today I watch it is a pure nostalgia, thanks for this video exist!!
I remember hanging out with friends in 2006 when I was a teenager, and one of my best friends, Colin, showed us this cool site he found called "UA-cam." He wanted to learn to play the guitar, so he showed us this video (one of the uploads, at least) and talked about how much it inspired him and how he was watching it every day. And he ended up getting really good at guitar thanks to this video. Unfortunately, he passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly about ten years ago, but I still come back to this video from time to time because it reminds me of that day and how excited he was to show us. Crazy to believe that was well over fifteen years ago now.
literally my childhood video, not only music. my nephew had this exact video on his laptop back in 2008, I loves watching this video so much I play it everytime I visit and borrow his laptop.
First saw this when I was 7 years old. Turned 21 about a month ago. Crazy how time flies. This dude is half the reason why I started playing the guitar. Thank you for being a part of all the bedroom shredders out there 🤘
10 YEARS TODAY the original video of this was uploaded. October 23rd, 2005. funtwo inspired so many people I know to pick up the guitar.Amazing musician.
+FrontlineGuitar yup. inspired the hell outta me. Forced me to practice sweeping for ever, now I think my skill level has improved enough to learn this song again. I learned all the way into almost the second round of the tell tale da-danada-danada.
Refreshing back memories during my high school learn and play this almost 15 years back. I love and like funtwo version. So harmonic and sync with the song rhythm. Good job and great performance. When my son turn watch on this.. is only one word he saying…Amazing!
I don't remember what year I watched this, but I am pretty sure it's more than 10 years ago... I converted this video to MP3 so that I could listen it in my MP3 player...
I’ve had a lot of friends come and go from my life since this video was first posted. Some have gone on to have successful careers, fall in love, and start families. Some have passed on to whatever comes next, having moved away from this mortal coil sooner than they deserved. 15 years is such a long time, and in the same breath you could say it’s barely anything at all. Nostalgic milestones like this serve as reminders to reminisce - if we’re privileged enough to do so - and to enjoy the days and friendships both past and present while we light a torch for future generations to make their own memories.
I gave the audio to this video to our wedding DJ for my wife to walk down the aisle to. She showed up 20 minutes late. And this played on a loop while all of us sat there wondering what was up. But in the mean time we rocked the f out to the bets ever rendition of Canon D. Still best day of my life. ...she eventually did show up. 17 years and going strong !
Maan, this brings me back, like I was 18 or something, when I first heard this, this made me fell in love with that song/music canon rock, tho now adays i've played the guitar both acoustic/electric for about 20 years.. never was as talanted as him, but I played in a band for like a good almost a decade with live concerts and such, did he ever join a band I wonder?
@@L0ser-with-candy well i'm almost 40 tbh. I must have been like 20 years old i'd admit, but u'd figure a guy like him, prolly would be in a major band today =)
I remember watching this for the first time several months after this was uploaded. Wow. I was about 10 years old, and UA-cam was just starting to get popular where I grew up. Every time anyone mentioned UA-cam, I would associate it with this video (thinking that this was one of ten videos that were uploaded at the time). In any case, this, along with the film School of Rock (which came out a few years prior), inspired me to play guitar. Man, what a legend.
When I was getting into UA-cam very early on (around 2007-2008 I believe) I saw a lolcats video with this as the background music and saved it to my computer. Happy to know this song :) I think I still have the vid and it's probably still up here too
+J Fusion God damn, reminds me of the hour I waited every single time for a song to load in Playlist.com or some shit like that and recorded it on a shitty mic on my MP3 player before playing the air guitar, waiting for the bus to show up for my Junior year of high school. God damn it.
I saw this video when I was in middle school, back when Guitar Hero was big. I am now 27 and look back at the bits and pieces of this I've learned throughout the years. Looking how far I've come and how long it has been. I can play this in its entirety these days. What I mean to convey is this: To anyone watching this who is aspiring to play like this one day... NEVER GIVE UP. It only takes patience, practice and most importantly - an immense love for the guitar.
Same really. What I'm really missing on the modern covers is that distortion on 2:12. I know it was probably unintentional but it adds to the rawness. To me it deserves more attention because it sounds SICK
easy, because he hit the original meaning of the music. most covers are reduced on hitting the notes as fast as possible on a e-guitare and loosing the source. music is meaned to deliver a emotion, if you loose the emotion its just noise.
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!! Thank you for this. My roommate passed away from an overdose 4 years ago, he always absolutely RIPPED his electric guitar, and this reminded me of him 🩷 Not to mention, I get married in August and would have loved this. Amazing job. ♥️
This isn't even possible. Let's say you saw this clip mid 2006. You were still courting her, which means not dating. Lets give you a month of courting until you started dating. This brings you to ~September 2006. I'll be generous and say a year and a half of dating before you married her. This brings it to March of 2008. I'll say were married for 10 months before she got pregnant with kid 1. This brings you to January 2009. 9 months to poop the kid out. October 2009. You obviously didn't get pregnant again right after kid 1 was born, so lets say you cared for him until he was 12 months. This brings us to October 2010. She gets pregnant with kid 2. 9 months later, kid 2 pops out. It's now June 2011. Another year of caring before the new kid. June 2012. Pregnant with kid 3. 9 months later. It is now March 2013. FUCK THIS I DID ALL THIS FOR NOTHING
I can remember buying my first guitar, must have been about 11/12ish. Just so happened to stumble across this around the same time. Not knowing what the fuck I was doing, I began my journey of learning this song. It was of course miles out of my league but that didn't phase me. I remember being stoked when I managed to remember the first 10 or so notes at the beginning!! Getting on 10 years later and I've never looked back, it made me the guitarist I am today. Thank you Funtwo!

Sungha couldnt pull off the awesomeness of jerry C's arrangement. He can play it though, but it lacks.
This will always be the Canon Rock for me.
Steven Nieto agree !

Don't mind me, just here for my annual appreciation

Happy Canon Rock in 2024!
At one point on in time, this was the greatest guitar player on UA-cam
“was”
@@MarcoBoneMan Why did you put "was" in quotes?
@@Words-of-encouragement.-. Hello? Hello? Anybody home? Think, Mcfly, think! He clearly meant to imply this guy never stopped being the greatest guitar player on UA-cam.
@@narudyholmesie Hello? Hello? Anybody home? Think, Mcfly, think! I clearly meant to imply that "was" was not necessary, because this kid is nowhere near the greatest guitar player on UA-cam.
I could spit on my monitor at any given moment and land on a better guitarist. Now get the fuck out of my notifications moron.
@heber moreno i was going to ask same thing
this guy just copied Jerry C's video. hes a farse!

Still one of the cleanest versions out there. Remember watching this as a kid and being in awe, as I still am!

Hahaha just practice alot, it took me few weeks to be able to play canon rock
Hearing this in 2021, makes so much joy and happiness.
I wish this guy knows how many people he inspired to keep going with the guitar in these years
First saw this when I was 7 years old. Turned 21 about a month ago. Crazy how time flies. This dude is half the reason why I started playing the guitar. Thank you for being a part of all the bedroom shredders out there 🤘
Sameeeeeeee
back when i was 12, now im turning 24 and i say his cover is still the best... pure talent...
RaJ RaVin' not pure talent but plenty of practice
Literally took the words out of my mouth
@Samuraii where du u get that
@Samuraii no jerry c = no canon rocks in guitar hero
I was about that age as well still love it
10 YEARS TODAY the original video of this was uploaded.

This video will seriously stand the test of time. A true YT staple. Early 00s, what a time to be alive and rocking!
Incredibly well said, Jason.
Beautiful
Well said
I gave the audio to this video to our wedding DJ for my wife to walk down the aisle to. She showed up 20 minutes late. And this played on a loop while all of us sat there wondering what was up. But in the mean time we rocked the f out to the bets ever rendition of Canon D. Still best day of my life. ...she eventually did show up. 17 years and going strong !
Brilliant. I love that. 💫💥🙌
Absolute magic. Just as incredible as it was when I first watched it all those years ago.

It's been almost 16 years since I saw this and I'm crying. The nostalgia will never be the same.
Never ever

I remeber this video 16 years ago, i'm crying.
Me too im 24 now and i can remember being 10 discovering this playing runescape n shit🤣
Yeah. I remember 100,000 views being a lot...
I cant stop coming back, 15 years later i still can't stop

First guitar video i watched on youtube when i first started playing. I had to let it load for 45 mins to watch the whole thing... #dial-up lol

When life was so simple
I saw this video when I was in middle school, back when Guitar Hero was big. I am now 27 and look back at the bits and pieces of this I've learned throughout the years. Looking how far I've come and how long it has been. I can play this in its entirety these days. What I mean to convey is this: To anyone watching this who is aspiring to play like this one day... NEVER GIVE UP. It only takes patience, practice and most importantly - an immense love for the guitar.
It still sounds better, raw and powerful than all the modern covers after this.
Same really. What I'm really missing on the modern covers is that distortion on 2:12. I know it was probably unintentional but it adds to the rawness. To me it deserves more attention because it sounds SICK
@@ps2bndled the subtle imperfections are what turn this into a living, breathing masterpiece.
easy, because he hit the original meaning of the music. most covers are reduced on hitting the notes as fast as possible on a e-guitare and loosing the source. music is meaned to deliver a emotion, if you loose the emotion its just noise.
I used to listen to this on my way to and from high school… 18 years ago. Wherever you are, I hope you’re still rocking!
Even after all these years, still one of the greatest UA-cam videos. 🤘
One of the first videos I ever watched. I remember having the video play for 3 seconds and stop to load for 8 seconds then play 3 more seconds. lol.

That's actually really cool man.....nice work
wow. speechless.
