    i had the S9's, They are great, but they go silent in heavy rain and after some time they don't get as loud anymore. they are still doing the job on my friends buzzer bar, but they aren't as waterproof as they say.

    I have the original S9’s and have had them for many years now, brilliant set off alarms! Two things I wish were different one being a different tone for a drop back which I’m glad to see on this new model! And the other being that I wish the sensitivity settings tracked how much the line moved in a certain direction as it can be really annoying in choppy conditions especially fishing with braid. Sensitivity is measured in millimeters on the alarms so say you have it set to 20mm before you hear a beep it could move 10mm forward and 10mm backwards and you get a beep or 15mm forward and 5mm backwards, basically as soon as it adds up to 20mm the alarms sounds, if ND could come up with a way to track how far the line moves in one direction and when it hit that value in a single direction set by the sensitivity then sound the buzzer this would eradicate false indications from small movement in the line from waves/ weather/ if fishing from a boat or floating jetty. I feel this would be a big improvement and would love to see it on the production models! Also buzzing to see they have gone with the same design as the S9 as the design of them looks amazing.

    I have the k9s with watch. The reciever button is terrible making it a chore to navigate the menus to serup the alarms. The app is okay but can only be used to setup the alarms and not as a bite alarm running in the backround for when you are warching a film with headphones on for example. The watch i find is the best thing to setup the alarms. Everything feels cheap. I wish i had got ATTs instead.

    Ive been wondering whats been going on at nd, they seemed to have gone quiet, the tackle box release was a nightmare and they don't seem to have done much ever since, i had a set of s9's thought they were great but unfortunately went faulty in heavy rain, I bought a replacement and even though it was still an s9 that linked to everything like the old ones it made a completely different noise and felt quite flimsy, that one also went faulty so I bought some mini microns instead. Such a shame as they could have been great but they just weren't reliable enough for me in the end

      Yeah, my S9s went bad after some particularly heavy rain and they never really recovered. I had the k9s before and they were absolutely bombproof but unfortunately they got nicked. The receiver on both sets was less than ideal, definitely not waterproof and the joystick was a pain to use and would give you loads of false beeps while in a pocket due to getting knocked.

    Their K9 was simply the best alarm they have done. Im sure if they do an update on that model they would sell by the tonne. I love mine and how they can be programmed from the app. I also think the K9 is a better-looking alarm. Just need a more programmable receiver.

    The reason I bought them 4 years ago, is a smartband. Set all volumes to 0, and enjoy stealth bait indication 🎉

      The point of them is to make a noise though when you get a bite might as well do without alarms

      @philipalbon3192 What's 'stealth bait indication'?

    • @carldyke76
      @carldyke76 3 місяці тому

      I think if you set it to zero, the wrist band only vibrates, hence the stealth thing 😏

  • @carldyke76
    @carldyke76 3 місяці тому

    I keep reading the comments over and over of the ND alarms not sounding when wet or after heavy rain , now, does this affect the wrist band etc vibrating/working , surenly not ??....i ask because i would have the alarms on silent anyway and use either the sound box or wactch for bite indication ....so wouldnt matter to me if the sound on the actual alarms packed up ..?????

    • @Fast_Snail_

      the recievers will keep working fine, the bite alarms aren't as waterproof as they say tho.

    All ND alarms are absolute rubbish. I’ve never used them personally, I’ve had many anglers sending them back to ND. Alarms not working. Receiver not picking up the alarm. I’ve had 1 angler in particular whose receiver failed and the alarms could not pick up the bite indication as the receiver was faulty. The list goes on with issues with ND. Stay away. Trust me.

      Only ever had 1 problem with them and that was 1 reciever that was faulty as it lost connection got a new one never had a problem since. I know a few people who use ND alarms that have never had a problem they got me onto them does what you need for a reasonable price. But each to their own I suppose.

      I couldn’t agree more, ND alarms in theory are great but the build quality is cheap and I’ve had nothing but trouble with my S9 alarms. I’ve sent back alarms now on 4 different occasions. The latest issue was the s9 receiver packed in and stopped working for no reason which rendered the alarms useless. I had to go buy a cheap set of 3+1 alarms just to get me through the session. I’ve since switched to delkims because I just don’t trust ND electrics. I’ve also bought their pro bivvy light which I’ve sent back twice and now this 3rd one is acting up and won’t turn off. I think they should concentrate on improving the quality of their suppliers because it can’t be cost effective to be replacing so many units.
