absolite agree, also should add 94, 95 background to xv. However, it's seem not happen, since final edition (digital version) already released on last week
Yes. I was disappointed about that honestly. Not that i make a big deal about cosmetics... it's just that cosmetics are a normal feature in the current fg scene right now. Besides, cosmetics are a nice way to earn some extra dlc money and SNK needs to resort to anything. I'm not really opposed to the idea of dlc outfits itself, i only have a problem with the questionable prices and the excessive amount of releases like in SF5. It only depends on the company's specific actions. Secondly, the old SNK was a much more artistically talented company than Capcom's fg section and they have a long history of nice designs for some characters. So the KOF devs could be exploring that brilliant legacy to bring dlc old outfits... Classic Kyo, Nests Kyo, Classic Ralf and Clark, a ton of Robert and Athena outfits, Classic (98) Yamazaki, etc. What i mean is, the good ideas are even ready, the devs just needed to work to remake them in 3d. In comparison, Capcom lacks a similar creative history, because the SF devs used to make more repetitive sequels and weren't into redesigns, until changing lately. The only notable old alternative outfit is Alpha Chun Li... nothing else. So when Capcom made extra outfits in SF4 and 5 they had to resort to random stuff: swimsuits, casual, sports, halloween, etc... Still, Capcom had the better initiative and is making extra bucks with dlc outfits. It's SNK that is slacking, when they have a pile of very good ideas to use.
Ok, I can no doubt say the finale design Dolores got is the best one. The concept one gave me way too much scientist feel then a psychic hermit, and it looked like as if she came from NEST instead. And if the initial Xanatu connection was antyhing to be believed, then yeah, this just sounds like SNK might originally planned Xanatu to have a bigger role in the story, but after poor reception they just dropped him. And I'm not sad that they did.
Yeah i think SNK needed to put more effort to add one extra outfit to the whole roster, not leaving that to a few characters. It would have been worth it, because SNK can use some brand new designs like these, and also bring back classic designs like Classic Kyo, Nests Kyo, many outfits for Athena and Robert, etc. Like it or not, cosmetics are a feature that boosts the games' appeal, just like other single player content ideas. All these things should be standard by now, only changing in package size... like SNK probably not affording as many different outfits as Capcom. The main objective of the fg genre is keep growing the public, because nowadays the franchises can't grow easily (unless it's SF and TK) compared to the arcades, when we could get into anything with a single quarter. But now everything costs the full standard price and all games even charge dlc. And SNK games are not even mainstream, they need to work harder to get attention. Any help is welcome to boost up their appeal.
6:41 Chizuru Kagura outfits mostly I think Dlc or alternatively costumes unlocked and 12:00 Shingo Yabuki costumes look like Kim Dong Hwan COTW costumes. Maybe see Chizuru Kagura Yagami, and Kyo kusanagi in City of the Wolves?
Just a heads up a lot of UA-camrs (somehow many in fgc) have fallen victim to phishing attacks claiming to be sponsors Be very careful with interactions with email and other stuff which asks you to go to links or go into whatever software you're not 120% sure about
I wish they did Chizuru a new outfit as the old the one they gave looked to clos e to her classic look for me. The new characters would have been interesting to and I agree with you on Ash non those customs work for me. Nice video Nabile
I like the first character's design, specifically the left variation, Dolores' 2nd design, Chizuru's 4th design, Ash's 1st design, Athena's 3rd design, Shermie's 1st design, Elizabeth's 2nd design, and Shingo's 3rd design!
Aside from few outfits for Shingo, i think all those outfits don't deserve to become standard outfits but a few could work as extra outfits. And that remake of Shermie's classic pink outfit looks nice too and could work as a new standard outfit. My general opinion is that KOF at this point needs to adopt the same direction of SF, TK and MK, redesigning the whole roster and then offering the classic outfit as an extra options. I know that a few characters got that treatment like the Geese team, but i wanted to see the whole roster working that way. And alright, it's not that everyone needs to be redesigned in every new game (like in MK), but my main target with that idea is characters who rarely or never changed... Daimon, Yuri, Ryo, Mai, Kim, etc. I want a new direction in KOF to change even those characters from time to time like Kyo, Benimaru, etc.
The current SNK apparently has something against KOF MI, i don't know why. Something that made a strong impression on me was the fact that KOF All Stars had literally everyone, from Last Blade to Street Fighter and Tekken, and even WWE... but not KOF MI. It's like the company refuses to recognize MI in the mainline KOF franchise. It's unfortunate because MI actually has some pretty good characters, even better than some newcomers created for KOF 14. At least some MI characters deserved to have a regular spot in KOF, like Final Fight characters in SF games.
3:43 looks like a character from an atelier game or jrpg made by Gust or Atlus. 7:39 looks like a final fantasy or Nomura design. 9:48 a reference to Rainbow Mika?
In my opinion KOF 15 would have been improved with extra outfits for the whole roster and not only a few characters. These cosmetics became such a common feature in modern fgs (and they exist in the main 3d fgs since the 90s) that any new release that lacks outfits are starting to look cheap. Also let's not forget that KOF MI had multiple oufits for the whole roster, 20 years ago in the ps2 gen. That's an important feature to me, not because i think it's essential in a fg but because the game industry and the fg industry have changed in a way that new projects are pressured to provide more single player content, beyond the average (small) package they had around the 90's. And all other fg companies have already adapted to that demand... so if SNK doesn't invest seriously in this field of story content, cosmetics, etc, the new games risk staying behind the competition. In that sense we are seeing interesting stuff in FF... even so FF apparently won't have extra outfits for the whole roster, that isn't a large roster at all. Very unfortunate. So i'm waiting to see that happen, ideally in the next KOF to give a nice impression. By the time of the next KOF's release the other fgs will probably provide an even bigger single player content package than they are doing now.
Whenever i hear someone say "doesn't feel like a king of fighters character" i just stare. Like.. the biggest draw to kof is the fact the characters can look grounded or just crazy and still fit in the series even if it's for one or multiple appearances. Like they have characters that appeal to whatever taste in a character you have. Variety.. So I just end up questioning people when they say stuff like that
for the game awards 2024? yup, which is pretty disappointing, just like did krohnen's teaser gameplay trailer & 2nd open beta test from KOF XV, back to december 2021.
There's a lot to comment. Leaving aside that new characters, there's a lot I would want to say about the alternative designs. For example, about Dolores desings, thoutgh they are nice, they don't match with her story, of being some african shaman or whatever resurrected after Verse defeat in KoF XIV (they give more the vibe of an sciencist or even an executive. And that design related with Xanadu... I like it, but it matches more with a younger girl as Isla than a mature woman as Dolores. I like all Chris designs, thought I can't say the same about Yashiro and Shermie's. I don't like the vests in Yashiro's designs. And Shermie's designs... none of them appeal me. Same that Ash and Elizabeth. Ash designs are too much flamboyant. And Elizabeth... The first one is a big no. And the others, thought pretty, don't match with Elizabeth. She's a though and strict one, not a lovely beauty (maybe it suits her when she was younger like in KoF XIII ending, but not now). About Chizuru, I like all them except the black and red: not a bad design, but it doesn't suit her. And about Athena, all of them are good, except the last one. It's pretty, but too childish: that short with leces reminds me to children's petticoats. I almost forgot about Shingo. Not bad, but I believe the one in T-shirt doesn't suit him.
To me a few newcomers in the Orochi, Nests and Ash arc are better than some FF veterans. I'll not worship the classic SNK games, even though my first one was FF2... i won't act like everything created in the early 90's was a masterpiece. Now about the KOF 14 newcomers, i have nothing good to say about them.
@carlosaugusto9821 since KOF99 every original characters are either mysterious or using fake name. in reality, the devs are just lazy writing the lore.
for me Ash are feminine boy ,he no need "female dress" ,et must keep his pant. the first charactere need to have black hair , he need to look like latino Salsa danseur
None of those cut characters even look like real fighters or even remotely cool. I'm not a big fan of the KOF 15 roster. SNK has so many cool characters from the past they could have pulled from. Personally I would have loved to Hon Fu, Bob Wilson, and Li Xiangfei make a return as Team Real Bout. All those new character designs are super terrible to me.
Man. It would've been awesome to see are the Alba Meira and Soiree Meira in KoF XV. Even if they were to start a new storyline within the KoF game timeline. That would be awesome. The other characters I would've wanted in KoF XV are the characters in the Rage of the Dragons game line. All these other SNK game characters (like World Heroes, Rage of the Dragons, etc.) would've been an awesome addition to KoF XV. A man can but dream, I guess.......
ROTD is not a SNK game, it's just published by SNK for the Neogeo. World Heroes is not from SNK too, but SNK bought the rights when ADK, the creator company, died.
Really wishing this game had DLC costumes, some of Athena, Chizuru and Shermie's alt designs are looking so great as alternative/unlockable costumes

6:54 Well, I thought Chizuru is into motorcycle-riding, so that outfit would fit her somewhat.
Maybe they are saving the Garou character for the new game
More of them as new characters would be interesting to see
@6:23 with that jacket, he kinda looks like the pilot dude from Daraku Tenshi: The Fallen Angels.
Oh you mean Harry Ness?

The Yashiro costume is sick!!!
Love the shingo costume
Some of Dolores's early designs ooze "final boss" energy.
It’s wayyyyy better than her default outfit as well
Hopefully Rick Strowd, Alfred Airhawk, and Bash make a return as Team Real Bout 2
I love alternate costume' s yashiro, chris and Antonov

The first Shingo idea almost looks like Kensou.
The ice skater dude with the long nose is a brilliant design,
I grow weary of dress-up dolls in fighting games.
And SNK should start adding the Street Smart IP to their roster of potential KOF fighters.
The first one is the best. maybe he could the new kof protagonist, I would be down for it.

Several confirmed King of Fighters characters in COTW.
Would have loved the black suits for Mature and Vice as alternates!
The boxer would have been cool.
Kof series costumes will be unlocked in Kof XV soon.
Hopefully City of the Wolves DLC costumes will be soon
Rough characters when creating KOF15
Character lost due to capacity for some reason.
and others have recently appeared?
Seems like that never oonsidered Adelheid at all... A bit weird, considering his father is back...
These costumes are great ideas for mods.
Kof guest characters with COTW hopefully
I wish this game had more new characters than just Isla and Dolores
