Can we please stop getting modern adaptations of older media where the original characters get sidelined by the new writers' OC's going through painfully boring drama?
It hadn't even occurred to me that this was just another in a shit trend of modern adaptations, that makes it even worse
This show felt like a regression to the first Sonic movie in the sense it has almost nothing to do with the games, but the first movie at least had the saving grace of Eggman and Sonic actually being main characters.
What blows my mind is how obsessed studios are with cinematic universes yet the Knuckles show does *nothing* to expand the Sonic movieverse. I guess except introduce Iblis. Great addition.
Expanding the universe is a frustrating point in this cause I would love to see the adventures of him getting the flames of disaster. Like sonic fans screaming how cool the idea was.
Why could we have simply gotten a show about the Echidna Owl war?
I had this crazy idea that a Knuckles show would be Knuckles training Wade to be a better warrior/cop, And then a former employee of Robonik's comes after the Sonic crew for revenge and power, but Knuckles and Wade take him on together. Wade gets and arc about believing in oneself and doing things he didn't believe he could do, while Knuckles learns to not take things so seriously and finds his place as a mentor and teacher.
Apparently that's all too complicated for Hollywood to give us.
You expected the show to be a show that was good and not the most expensive throwaway in television history? Yeah me too, me too.

1. I love your content and I'd be really sad if you turned out to be awful
2. There's way too many movie reviewers on this platform who don't give a shit about movies and instead just complain black women showing up in franchises they don't care about that have women of color in them since the 2000s. It's so refreshing seeing a negative review of a modern movie that isn't just dogwhistles and buzzwords meant to make children angry

Thank you for this, thank fucking God I’m not insane for thinking this was a genuine 2/10 at best. I would have stopped at episode 3 if I wasn’t at a watch party. All six people involved agreed this was just nonsensical madness with no right to have Knuckles in the title. I hadn’t felt genuinely insulted as a viewer since the reveal of the DMC reboot. Then the positive reviews came pouring in.
I assumed they were paid but they didn’t stop. I’m glad I’m not alone in realizing this aimless mess of a show has no reason to exist aside from lowering hype for Sonic 3.

I can’t for sonic 3 to have shadow be basically a side character and for the writers to have completely cut out Amy and rouge from the adventure 2 story to make way for the completely new OC human characters because why would they want to introduce some of the main female sonic characters in the third sonic film, like if they have Tom or his niece from the past two films take Amy big moment of showing shadow humanity isn’t evil I’m going to lose it

You know thinking about this and looking at the Ninetndo video. Has made me think about future of Sonic. To be honest I have no clue what future this series holds. It is like playing a lottery .
However, it has made me wonder about Sega’s problem. There are many things that are problematic for this company. Sega lets fans in Sonic media which some would see sega as better. However, this could be a problem too. With the franchise not having a single vision. I feel like that is one also small problem of a bigger one that i am not seeing.

Velma is still worse by a mile, but with that said, being better then that show is as much of an accomplishment as grabbing a handful of dirt.

@@HitoriSanzo I mean, at least Knuckles wasn't used as a self-insert that constantly spews biased views like their on twitter. Also, Mincy's Velma only shares appearance with the character Velma, otherwise she's just a cosplay for Mincy. At least Knuckles, when he appears that is, does act as he did in the second sonic movie, if a bit more flatter in terms of character.
Its funny, I just realized that both shows has instances where someone else is dressed up like the main character. One in a meta sense and other is narrative sense.

This is somehow even stupider and more of a waste of good opportunities than I expected, and given how shit so many movies and TV shows typically are these days, I had pretty much zero expectations to start with. On what planet does someone even remotely sane look at the base concept of this, and go, "hmm, yes, we need to focus entirely on the annoying human characters no one likes even a hundredth as much as the funny talking animals, despite the show being literally named after one of them"?
Makes me wish they just gave the show production over to a random hobo, at least the incoherent nonsense said hobo would make would be entertaining. Shit, even good ol' Ken couldn't do worse than this, and his horrifically ugly designs would at least be funny to mock.

I understand your frustration of a terrible product ruining interest in the rest of the series, however in retrospect it can also be the warning sign before the crash.
Back when the Avengers sequels were being made I'd heard rumors of fenimism attempting to be pushed despite Stan Lee's wishes, but wrote it off as an uninformed attempt to spark more publicity with controversy, never gave it a second thought because they'd been sticking pretty close to the comic sources. Then Captain Marvel was genderbent in Infinity War & Endgame, I ignored the red flag since I'd also heard they'd be moving into the multiverse direction and already knew there were a handful of such alternate characters, besides he wasn't a favorite character and had Superman overpower problems and correctly guessed she wouldn't have a big part. For me the tipping point was Thor Ragnarok with how they disrespected Thor narratively and Bruce emotionally; the former despite being a lifelong warrior is outclassed by a wannabe mercenary and has her lead the way for sudden and arbitrary reasons, the latter experiences increasingly concerning psychological trauma on par with incurable diseases like alzheimer's yet nobody takes him seriously. Then when Mr Lee died the following year, this one-off emasculation and replaceability started becoming common place in the following movies, and they were insultingly obvious about it after Endgame. Tried to enjoy Ant-Man & the Wasp but was disappointed how he was getting shoved to the side when he should be the protagonist, Captain Marvel got her own movie but the trailer alone was enough for me not to watch it, still put off I didn't see another avengers movie until Thor Love & Thunder but ended up walking out because he was treated even worse than all of his previous movies combined. Since then I haven't bothered watching anything from the MCU that released after 2017, and public complaints about the newer movies have only affirmed I made the right choice to give up on the franchise.
