Fun fact: Hank's voice actor went on to play Bibleman. (I will feel so stupid if this was in the video and I somehow missed it, but I was waiting for it and didn't hear it so I think I'm good? I hope. If I'm wrong, forgive meee)
As someone had put Sheila did indeed stole only once the ring from venger's sister kareean and in requiem it shown dungeon master is venger farther so is also kareean's farther though she not mentioned, did you notice at 5:01 Sheila flash her underwear to the camera?
I recently rewatched the show with a group, i was suprised how enjoyable the show was, im actually suprised you didnt talk about the show having a cannonical ending, that was stitched together from animation from the show and based off the writing of the comic book that gave it the ending. Anyways i really do like your the last 4 minutes of the video, older media feels like it needs a bit more love nowdays, especially with how it seems like companies are trying to erase media history, especially animated Also Venger was voiced by Optimus fuckin Prime, as if you needed any more reason to like him
I genuinely cannot remember the reason why I decided not to talk about the fanmade ending to the show. I know it's canon, and I know the voicework is done by the original cast, but for one reason or another while writing this video I decided to omit it. Maybe I was lazy lmao. I didn't realize Venger's VA was also Optimus Prime, though now that I've been told that I can absolutely hear it.
@@HauntLich you could do a follow up review of the fan made ending just a idea ,also if you seen totally spies shella voice Alex she was also juliette from dogtanian and the muskehounds, also fun fact venger never once open a door he always enter by exploding it (if remember right)
Very good video. Interesting way to describe Ramud around 19:00 as I never saw the show but you still give me a quick view at the character that is easy to understand. I like your honest reviews and seeing more of it makes me happy. Thanks for blessing us today.
It might just be me, but i'm like 99% certain that the SFX for Venger's Magic Missile is identical to Megatron's Fusion Cannon SFX from the original 1984 Transformers cartoon...which makes sense, considering that was *also* a Marvel Productions/Toei joint. (also Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime in that show, was the voice of Venger in D&D!)
It always saddens and annoys me that characters being kind and fatherly to children is seen as creepy now a days. Back then, having adult character being kind to children was meant to show how pure hearted they are, they are someone that children can count on when most adult don't take their problems, fears or worries seriously just because they're kids. They type of characters are supposed to show that they understand the heart and mind of a child when no one else does. Basically a Santa Claw type a figure, someone to be for them when they need help or advice.
Good day,the final episode was called requiem the script was made in 2020 a UA-cam channel named zetevio deloryan finally animated it i think you should check it out as a fan of the original cartoon
Technically yes the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe would be an Isekai, because in one of the later books the way they get there, is by all dying in a horrific train accident. I'm not joking.
I've recently made the leap from "big fan of RPGs" to "successfully Kickstarted my first RPG" and like most people in the RPG-sphere I got started with Dungeons and Dragons. In fact, with 3.X right as Fox Kids started re-airing this TV show! Which remains a favorite! My favorite episode--spoiler warning--is the one where Diana crushes on a guy who turns out to be an angel, or a Celestial as they're generally called in 3e and 4e. The ending implies she'll get to meet him again when she dies--which, man, gave me some pretty hard romance feels back then and also kinda now.
This was one of my favourite cartoons as a kid. I'm of the old persuasion, so I should probably go nap. XD It's still unfortunate that the series ended before the final episode was drawn and aired, but at least we got it in the form of a radio play, comic book, and eventually a fan animation.
So the DM controls this world, because that's what DMs do, and the first thing he does is throwing deadly encounter at kids. I don't even think they chose their classes
Fairy sounded like a smiling friends background character 😭 But jokes aside before i even got into anime i always felt 50/50 on continuity as a kid when it came to certain shows because if i see some annoying dude go through thr same arc several times im gonna start tweaking but at the same time it definitely depends on the vibe of said show
Felix is portal fantasy which is fucking stupid because he's already a talking cat with a magic bag, there was no reason for the "fantasy world" to not just be where he lived.
19:07 That's his 'I just came' face... Acrobat? What kind of weak ass shit class is that? Ooo! You can balance on tight ropes! Telescoping staff seems to have been a very popular weapon for female characters in the 80s, see also Cheetara.
I used to love this show, here in brasil i think we never got the final episode and as was custom for the time, youtubers started making creepy pasta ass theories about how the characters are all in a coma and dungeon master is secretly the devil
I think I may have watched a rerun or two at some point but now I am tempted to go watch at least the first episode and then shuffle the rest at some point.
I’m not over the age of 40 but i somehow know about this show, maybe boomerang ran some re-runs or something back when it actually re-ran shows actually worth watching…that or Stephanie Sterling uses random images in her show, pick your poison
Nah, the real reason all shows have hardcore continuity now is because the internet allows you to track which episodes you have seen and fill you in on what you miss, you can tape shows so you never miss an episode, and streaming let's you watch them linearly. In the 80s episodes were episodic because nobody could keep track of anything. All the nerd are furious at the 'portal fantasy' vs 'issekai'. Being able to return is not that big a deal. And sometimes people can go back and forth (Page Master, Space Jam, Amphibia, Digimon). Oh god, is The Matrix an issekai? Is Superman? Is Rick and Morty? Likewise, sometimes people are forced to return to the real world against their wishes (Amphibia, Monster Rancher, Owl House, Infinity Train) which by Haunt's definition would make them neither Issekai or portal fantasy. I guess. In the Football issekai I just assume they want to go home, but only after beating the big bad. Because otherwise its kinda f*cked up they don't want to go back if only to prevent their loving parents from having a heart attack because they think their kids are f*cking dead. And Issekai is older than your grandpa what with Mark Twain writing the first one in 1889 (A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court )
Isekai? Sounds like Nerd Weeb talk mean to blow Magical Rainbow Smoke up the Butt! But yes. Venger is a Very Underrated 80s Bad Giuy! Makes Skeletor and Cobra Commander looked like little bitchy Bed Wetters! And Voiced by Peter (MF Optimus Prime) Cullen! Also that Fairy with the Stupid Noises was Frank ( GD Megetraon) Welker. So yeah.
I think it's the same shit! you're just coping, after all isekai just means "other world" :v so digimon 1 is an isekai even though the kids growth attached to it and escape by the end, and so are the ecchi garbage anime slob that gets released every season! where the same looking fking guy is loved by every girl in sight and they don't wanna leave o:
Rahmoud is a real one. Hat's off to that mad lad for just being one of the bros, putting down monsters, and showcasing aggressive wholesomeness.
Fun Fact: Venger's magic Missle and Megatron's fusion canon make the same noise
That IS a fun fact
I loved it when hauntlich said "its haunting time" and proceeded to haunt all over the place.
And fourth
KING ARTHUR AND KNIGHTS OF JUSTICE MENTIONED AGAIN LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO!

Nice use of SoupOOT's remix of Palmtree Panic. That guy makes some REAL good music. 👌

Sheila did nick keys and the ring from venger's sister also someone made dungeons and dragons requiem it has so may nod to the show it a true ending
The sister name was kareean

Would've been cool to see an animated show based on Dragonlance. That bad animated film doesn't count.
So, do you suppose Felix the Cat the Movie is a Portal anime? Or... German anime... what is that? Wehrnime?

Preston, bro. Presto is short for Preston. As a swamp dwelling Mississippian, I have known MANY Prestons in my life.
People keep telling me it's "Preston" but I'm pretty sure you're all just gaslighting me with a fake name :^)

The 1980s Marvel comics Cobra Commander would make Venger wet his bed. He was not toned down like the Sunbow cartoon.
