This week was the 24th anniversary of Michael's untimely death. He will always be missed. Thank you guys for helping to keep his legacy alive. The whole band deserves the recognition.

Yes, I remember reading in the newspaper, as we did back then, that he'd died. I was just crushed. Michael was a superstar, but I can't agree more that the whole band is fantastic. Andrew wrote the music for almost every song! Michael and he partnered for most of the songs, with Michael doing lyrics and vocals which, as Andrew has said, were an instrument Michael used amazingly. Jon on drums, and the guitarists/bassist Kirk, Gary and Tim...all superb. They've brought me happiness for 35 years.

This song was played at his funeral when they brought the casket in at the start. So emotional.

Sigh……love seeing your reactions to INXS. What a talent Michael was. Brilliant voice, stage presence & sex appeal. Being 16 in 1991 I do appreciate their music more the older I got. We were probably trying to rebel against mainstream listening to Violent Femmes. Sorry I didn’t appreciate him more when he was around.

I've been listening to them since the 80s, they were together since late 70s. They have endless, endless amazing music into the 90s, until we lost Michael.

Thank you for your reaction, this is actually incredibly sad and made me cry, as Diosydoodle commented, it was the 24th anniversary of his death just recently (22nd November). It's good to see Michael and the band appreciated for their talent.
When I first heard this song plus the details of losing him, I actually cried to this too!! plus a couple of others, including a song he was working on when he died.

Over the years I have bought 3 CD of the 1991 concert. Got one unopened, l loved this concert. It is as good as the 2013 NIGHTWISH concert. Super excited to see INXS being played now. All the songs are good at this concert.
During their era they were considered the best live band in the world. There was general consensus in the music industry of that.
Michael's favourite artist and band was lesser known fellow West Australian DavidxMcComb and his band The Triffids , also xwhy he made sure they got on the bill for Made In Australia Tour back in 1987.

I believe in The Stairs you said Micheal had swag, swagger, yes, he sure did! I think guys wanted to be him and women wanted to be him! He was just a cool 😎 charismatic person and this band was always so tight, INXS had it all great music 🎶 great musicians and a incredible charismatic singer with a fantastic voice, yes, they had it all and I’am grateful that we had this great band and Micheal as long as we did and talking about Micheal’s swag react to him performing Need You Tonight from Wembley he will make you melt, your so right he had swag in spades ♠️ look forward to this reaction!🙌🤟🥰

Each member of the band was so different but they complemented each other so well, and were friends for many years.They held each other’s egos in check!

A complete heir to Morisson, both in stature and voice, it's a shame that he too died too soon.

We watched INXS Never tear us apart on blue ray then listened to their music on Australia Day yesterday. I can’t believe that idiot thought the Kick album was crap lol boy was he wrong lol
The music execs thought "Kick" had too much Funk and was geared more toward a "Black" audience so they didn't like it. "Need you Tonight" was definitely a hit on Black stations back in the day which is one of the reasons it charted at #1 in the US. I read they offered INXS 1million dollars to scrap it but their manager Chris Murphy said no and found a way to promote the album without the record company which led to its acceptance and success.
@@jazshas yes I believe that was when Chris Murphy approached college radio stations in the USA. And that's how Kick started to get played and INXS gained a following. He took a huge risk and put his own and the bands money on the line to get the album going. He and Michael may have butted heads in the later years over Michael's attempts at solo success, but Chris Murphy was truly an asset for INXS, a huge part of their success. RIP Chris Murphy.
