Like a lot of commenters here, I'm just getting started in doing color correction and color grading in FCPX and understand there is so much to learn. This was a very good starter Marcos. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge with us. After using iMovie for so long, FCPX is like being given the keys to a Ferrari after driving a Pacer.
Great video, pretty much exact same process I use with a slight variation to correcting skin tone. Very well explained, probably one of the best I have seen.
This video has been an eye-opener to me. All the things you were explaining were totally new to me. Thanks Marcos for taking so much pains and trouble in bringing out this excellent video.
Thank you Carlos for your time explaining this. I already knew the basics but it’s good to revisit the rudiments because you always learn something new.
Great tutorial! The skin tone line pane on the left at 6:33 was a bit hard to see on my phone so it would have been better if you had it zoomed up. Nevertheless, awesome tip ! Thank you 🙏
Very good tutorial. I’d recommend zooming in when adjusting settings though instead of showing it in full screen mode the entire time. I watched this on my iPhone and it was difficult to see the settings such as the colour wheels etc. So just thought I’d point that out. Good tutorial though 😁
Man o Man you know your stuff. I am so intrigued and want to learn but my "Post Chemo" brain wont let me. I still enjoy watching and will do my best with the videos I create. Thank you for your inspiration my friend. Cheers
Nice one!! Learned about some new FCPX options I did not know before hand!!! Thanks bro! Too bad the Out plug in does not preview the Out before applying. That is why I like the gallery in Color Finale which shows you more or less how all the Lut's in your pack will basically look with out having to apply it and check each LUT.
Thanks a lot, Marcus, you really helped to understand basic things I needed in everyday work. Just what a noob needs. 😊 One question about the skin indicator in the vectorscope: is it okay for any skin color, or should its position be tuned in order to make an appropriate tone correction for people of different skin color?
The skin tone is just an approximate indicator. I am sometimes a little bit to the left of it. It all depends on your skin. You want to be close to it as much as possible.
Do I not have any of the LUT options detailed because I don't have those uploaded by third party software? Recommended one to purchase to have what you have?
Hi, I had a question!! How can I blend a white background to other locations of the screen? Or blend stuff out of my white background!? Thank you so much.
I am not sure what you mean exactly. I am guessing you could add a custom white background layer. Then, add a mask to the background layer to remove parts you don't want to cover.
I was wondering how you could get the effect you have in the thumbnail in the video. Not making the colours look nicer but literally adding certain hues of colour around the video, as if a coloured torch shining on it
Thanks Marcos, great video, really helpful. What are the best free LUTs you would recommend pls? Or if you have a video about it could you drop a link please. Thanks a lot.
I paid for the LUTs I really like. My friend gave a LUT I use all the time and I don't know where he got it from. I have to ask him. It is hard to find good LUTs.
Coll Tuts! A head up.The new version of fcpx 10.4.4 is amazing specially for color grading using the comparison window.Check it out. But COLOR FINALE doesnt work in that version .waiting for an update.
Hi Marcos , thanks ! I was wondering if you still use color finale, in an other videos you made color final vs fcpx. ( what do you think about mlut ?) thank you
@@MarcosRochaTV hum ok thanks, I was about to buy color finale but still wondering because of the price, I wanted to be sure ( just tried mlut yesterday, I found it great, but maybe not powerful like color finale ? the pro version worth it ?)
@@MarcosRochaTV thank you much Marcos ! so gonna buy it ! :-) yes when it's work well and when it's important plugins like this, price is ok, so thank you :-)
you can do a lot of things with keyframe. You should watch some of my videos on keyframing. Basically, you can move text or images around and do different effects.
@@MarcosRochaTV am using final cut pro x but I need video templates, so that I can edit short video for people like wedding invitations or church advertisements
Hey Marcos question. I just made a video on my channel that I just grade for the first time. Would you check it out and tell me what you think. If you watch what I color graded was the sample footage of what I'm reviewing. If not that's fine. You still the best!!
Always check for skin tone color accuracy like I did in this video. I checked out your last video and my suggestion is to go light on the color grade - don't over do it. Great job with the b-roll.
Check out my Final Cut Pro X Masterclass: bit.ly/fcpxmasterclass
This is by far the best tutorial on Color Grading. Simple and easy to understand. That has helped us a lot! Thank you!

Great tut! Love the new FCPX update, noise reduction!! Final Cut has become so powerful, the one thing missing is tracking.
Tracking... yeah we all would like that very much.
Hey Marcos, Final Cut and you become more and more powerful!!!! Great video!!!
Marcelo, thanks man.

please update more videos about final cut pro x! this is a fan from China.
Hey! I will do that.
this is a great insight, many think to colour grade you need fancy plug ins and the best LUTs, you proved it wrong mate! great vid :D
It takes more knowledge to color grade without LUTs... so whatever works.
This video was so helpful! Thank you so much!
Thanks for this! Love the hue skin tone part :)
Jesee, cool man
Excellent tutorial

New to colour grading in FCPX and this has helped me loads 👍
awesome!
Fantastic video , It will help me quite a bit in my future videos!
great 👍🏼
A definition of a LUT: A look created by somebody else!!
Yeah, most LUTs don't work that well. It is hard to find a good one.
This is great! Thank you so so much!
omg finally someone shows me this

Yes, that is why I love using Color Finale. Except the LUT Gallery has not been working for me lately.
Man, just amazing tutorial :) Helps me a lot. May I know what configuration you're using for Final Cut? Thanks

I'm french so my english isn't perfect but i think your videos are amazing !

Yeah, just starting to shoot Nikon/Ninja ProRex RAW and there’s nothing out there to support this new codec
How do you get that temperature wheel?
It's right there

I still have 10.4.3 and my Color Finale Gallery LUT has not been working too good.... sometimes it doesn't open up at all. I wonder what else changed?
I can't find the "ASCEND" under Custom LUT
Hi Marcos , thanks ! I was wondering if you still use color finale, in an other videos you made color final vs fcpx. ( what do you think about mlut ?) thank you
I use Color Finale, but some people don't have it, so I made it this way. The tools are pretty much the same. Color Finale is more intuitive.
@@MarcosRochaTV hum ok thanks, I was about to buy color finale but still wondering because of the price, I wanted to be sure ( just tried mlut yesterday, I found it great, but maybe not powerful like color finale ? the pro version worth it ?)

Hi Marcos, what about cinegrade ? did you try it ? seems cool ! :-)
Have you tried Mojave yet and if so, How is FCPX working with it?
I have Mojave installed and FCPX is workin the same.
Been using FCPX since Mojave came out, no issues, works perfect
thanks! this is awesome. What would you recommend a beginner to learn first?
First, learn how to set the exposure. Then, learn how to correct the white balance.
hii can i ask bcz im just new at fcpx what does the keyframe do to ur video?
you can do a lot of things with keyframe. You should watch some of my videos on keyframing. Basically, you can move text or images around and do different effects.
