    Finally got around to trying out my Sonax Cutmax that I bought some time ago. Did a customers 2010 Camaro (one step polish) that had 4 spots where bird poop etched the paint. My orange pad and correcting compound wasn’t touching it, so I went to a 3” microfiber pad and cut max - 3 passes on the section and POOF. They were gone 👍🏻

    Well done mate. Enjoy the effort that goes into making these videos but also save chaps like me SO MUCH TIME in choosing a product. Have just used CARPRO Clear cut on some hard clear and very impressed. Saves a lot of time. Question , out of all those cutting compounds you have tested above like HD, Sonax, TLC etc. which do you believe give the best final finish???? I know the Clearcut finished done well on my hard clear coat I have. Would you still finish off with say Menzerna 3500 to give that excellent final result??? Keep up the good presentations.

    Loving your videos, sometimes almost "binge-watching." Sonax CutMax is an amazing product, and, in the context of the Porsche restoration where the white board indicates stepping down from the heavy compound (CutMax) to the medium compound (Carpro ClearCut), could you alternatively use the CutMax with a "less aggresive" pad to get the same/similar results of a medium compound? Thanks for all!

    Looks like some real good stuff. I'm still stuck on Meg's 100. For the price ($68/gal) it's a great value IMHO. Have you tried the HD 501? I got a quart a while ago after watching a demo that HD did. They must have real soft paint on their demo panels😂. The stuff is just horrible. Even when used with wool on the rotary. I find it funny that the HD cut + works that well when the product they market toward body shops sucks so bad. On the other hand maybe I got a bum quart.

    I'm totally new to detailing. Got myself a Da polisher from Meguiars. Bought their red cutting pad and some Meguiar ultra compound on a E38 7-serie bmw.. absolutely nothing happend. Hard as a rock that clear coat. I ordered microfiber pad with C300 cutting compound. Still no real cutting results. Now I ordered CutMax. I'll update when I've used it. What pad? Foam, Microfiber or whool on my D.A?

    Hi Brian, love your videos and your tips and tricks for different products, I have heard alot of detailers in my country mention that Sonax cutmax and Cutmax 6+ has Fillers in it that would hinder getting true correction on paint,though i have used both variants and cant say i have had an issue with cutmax filing and masking results but whats your take on this does Cutmax mask true results or not, would love your comment on this.

      Amazon will raise the prices automatically whenever they see a high traffic on a specific product. Its disgusting. Hungry greedy. Very greedy.

    • @5hift6ear
      @5hift6ear 6 років тому +2

      I don't think they will raise the price. The link provided states it is sold and shipped by Palm Beach Motoring Accessories which is a third party vendor and if I remember correctly that is actually Autogeek.com's alias on Amazon. Just an FYI Autogeek has this product for $17.99 all day and they always have sales such as 15% off, 20% off, 25% off, free shipping, etc... Plus they price match.

    • @apexdetail85
      @apexdetail85  6 років тому

      True.. but what is the cost when shipping is included. Compared to those with Amazon Prime ( free two day shipping)? Not defending either company... its an honest question. 😁

    • @apexdetail85
      @apexdetail85  6 років тому +2

      Yeah.. that is shitty to raise prices when their algorithm picks up traffic to a specific item. 😞

      I've been out the detail game since 2005. Amazed at how saturated the market has become. There are so many good options out there. Your channel helps a lot!

    Seems very expensive for such a small quantity, However is you use less per application and it does a better job. I am all for quality and less work.

      Apex Detail so you hardly use setting 6 or 40 on the 10FX? I use hexlogic pads for now is why I was asking.

      Between these testing vids... I use each contestant on a correction or two and can definitely share with you That although similar... Sonax can cut just a bit quicker and deeper.
