Lost my virginity on the front seat of the family Kingswood. Found out later that I was not the first sibling to court girls in it. Being the youngest that icked me, cause the stains I wondered at as a kid took on a whole new meaning.
Films like this inspired me to go and spend a lot of money and buy myself a V8 Kingswood UTE, and what pushed me a even harder was filming the closing down of Holden MOTORS Hobart TASMANIA. Very Sad.!
I like the (I imagine original, for fun) 202 badge on the boot, and no Trimatic badge. Early HQ 202s had the badge numbers in red. My guess would be this car was originally a 202 with 3-on-the-tree from '72, '73, or '74. Pity about the race tank spoiling the clean lines of the beautiful HQ sedan shape.
Love the HQ the lines awesome car. Noticed it’s plates are NZ and thinking, hey they’re original with the black plate. Did a plate search C@rJ@M dotCo dotnZ first registered new in NZ in ‘75, so probably the last of the HQ’s from Oz before the HJ’s arrived on our shores. What would make it a classic if It’s still has the original column shaft without the gearstick attached of course.
1986 I bought the king wood 1500 The car back then so tough This king wood car today probably 100k or more. I’m Holden fan , I have Calais 2008 this model last made in Australia. It’s sad to see Holden no more here
Thw rear of the car looks suspiciously like the 69 Chevy Bel Air. The front has that 1971 ,Chevelle/Monte Carlo" look. And those Kingswood badges are identical to the ones on the 72 Chevy Kingwood station Wagon. Rumor goes that Chevy in the States didnt need them anymore because the 73 wagons would be Impalas or Caprices, so the leftover badges went to Australia for the Holden model In any case, it would be interesting to know what the stylists at Holden uaed for their inspiration when designing the HQ. My guess is they looked at what Detroit was doing and liked it...
Legit dream car could of picked one up as my first car in 2005 for 2k but chickened out because it was registered as a 202 but had a 308 in it. But i was such a dick driver i am kinda glad, the thing scared the shit out of me.
Love the sound of timing gears. Better than a blower in my mind.
Thought it was just the pulleys. No one does straight cuts.
@@spiritlevelstudios that's only because they screw with knock sensors, old school builds still get them.
@@stinkfinger1942 haha, knock sensors be damned!
not straight cut gears thats just a crappy Chinese gilmer belt drive i bet
The sound gets old real quick - china makes cool stuff
Never thought see another kingswood , spent my childhood in the back seat. Love it

@@samday6621 hahahahaha good shit mate
Yup I remember my. Oldest brother spewing up his purple Fanta all over the cream leather seats in our old Kingswood
Beautifully restored & upgraded. 👍🏻
Listen to that beautiful cammed out v8. And the Gilmore Pullies, it gives it that super charge whine.
Gilmer .
Wow wish i had one here in the states.. I love the aussie muscle design.
I'm a simple guy. I see Holden HQ, I click.
She’s beautiful.
Too think Aussies made such gorgeous tough cars 😍
Such an iconic car!! I loved my HX premiere. wish id never sold it but thats life.

Beautiful old cars i love Kingswood and Holden vehicles
What a beauty! Can listen to that all day long 😍
Love the HQ, my era.
I was really hoping she was gunna smoke the bags!
Smoke the bags?
@@quantametric it’s an old saying, perhaps from hot rod culture of using rag lined tyres (not steel belted).
Smoke up the fat baggy tyres.
@@samday6621 Oh right, thanks for the info. My mind was thinking something else.. lol
That is one of the most beautifully styled and shaped cars ever. Signed,Jealous American.
Don't be too jealous, it's effectively a chevelle
@@iTzYangoZ I don’t have one of those either.
It's a 4 door Malibu. They are parts cars here.
@@trevorwilson5461 it really ain't a Malibu, it's better besides not being able to get a big block
Malibu😂

Good memories miss my old HQ
we can’t ignore that pink street machine across the road
Nice car. This same body sold in South Africa as a Chevrolet Kommando, with the American based 250 cu straight 6 that was cast in South Africa.
Beautiful car mate

my guess would be '73 or '74 due to the colour. 'Sunburst Met 15337'

Yeah i spotted the drop tank.
Nice HQ motor sounds healthy.
Awesome 👍 car cool cheers
My favourite cars had 3 i miss them
Some how I don't think this HQ is running a 202. The exhaust note is music to a car enthusiasts ears 👍

Looking at the badging was it a 202.. then had the v8 fitted ?

What are those wheels 🔥

That’s so trippy seeing her get out the right side 😂
Those were made from 1971 to 1974.
Sunburst Gold?
Where did you get the drop tank, I need one?
Btw I love the look of her
What motor do you have in there? Red 308?
Make it go forward for 20000 extra views

For you foreigners, that's what all Oz Grannies drive.
awesome
How can anyone prefer the sound of electric over that!

Aussie muscle cars are so much better than American muscle, although they do have a larger selection.
Didn’t expect a chick in a dress to get out of it
