- Where Are You Now? is a 1986 power ballad by Pennsylvania band Synch. The song was initially credited solely to 'Synch' when it was first released in 1986. In February 1989, the song was re-released under the name 'Jimmy Harnen with Synch'. It was co-written by Harnen and friend, Rich Congdon.
The song peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June 1989. It also hit #3 on the Adult Contemporary chart. There were two other pop rock songs from the 80's that were released twice and were hits. Benny Mardones "Into the Night" (1980 and 1989 new version) and Sheriff's 'When I'm with You" (1982 and 1988).
A big hit on 97.1 KEGL in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas back in the day!

FLAWLESS PERFECTION in so many ways. I've been obsessed since first time I heard it as a 19 year old college freshman and I'm still obsessing as a 54-year old washed up old man. Great vocal. Epitome of an 80's power love ballad.

Properly pronounced "sinch" not sĭngk. I went to Wilkes College with Jimmy Harnen and I managed the college radio station at the time of the first release in 1986.

Adrijono, Synch were a six member band that included Jimmy Harnen. So you could say the instruments and backup vocals were performed by the band. Jimmy sang lead on this track.
