Thank you for this vid. I am mechanically inclined but electrically stupid and I was shitting bricks thinking about messing with the fuse box. But after I popped the fuse cover and moved that fused I was blown away with how easy this actually was. Pro tip for anyone else doing this, there's a white clip tool located on the inner cover of the fuse box (seen at 1:03), that's a fuse puller tool and makes moving that big fuse back and forth a breeze. Also, worth mentioning that having plastic trim tools helps making the removal of the fuse box cover super easy.
Thank you I work at an auto apholstry shop and was installing heated seats and needed the rear cigeret lighter to be keyed power for a relay and this saved my day!!!!!!
My 2014 sierra is a single cab with a full bench seat and so it doesn’t have the center console like you do. Will the fuse location be the same for my cigarette lighter?
Does that fuse also control the rear cigarette lighter port in the back hatch of a 2017 GMC Yukon? Need to turn it off of constant power for my cell phone booster.
What size is that fuse? I pulled out the fuse and accidentally popped off the purple top cover…oops my bad and I can’t find where that little cover went. I want to buy another one but I need to know what to buy Thanks for the video Great info I just did this to mine 2014 GMC SIERRA AT
50amp. I just did this to my 18 sierra. There's a few videos out there of the silverado and this special fuse but it's always on the right side. Kind of gave up on it till I came across this video. Thanks a bunch!
Hello Do you know what fuse or relay is controlling the rear turn signal lights Because I have current going to the signal light and stays on all the time even when vehicle is off?
Anthony have you considered adding an inverter to the z? Or extra mounted usb plugs? I've considered adding an inverter I have with some usb plugs/wall outlet along the glovebox wall. I have a base model so there's just a panel and empty space behind driver seat where the sub goes in the higher end models. Not like I'd be running a microwave or hairdryer in there lol...but would be cool to have laptop charging while tuning...or even a ps4 or similar mounted. That or a hidden solenoid to activate a pop door...have a secret glove box(that I guess now wouldn't be so secret lol)

The 350Z isn't an office for me, my truck is.
Just got a 2014 1500 silverado and either position 10 or 11 mine is off until I turn the key on. I would like to have the console stay hot all the time and dash on when key is on . Can you help with this .
That AC plug is made by the same company also used in 2017 Impala and even Ford F-150, probably many other cars, they all look the same. My 17 Impala keeps blowing fuses, not a big deal till you become homeless in my car, then that becomes most important. It did work for 6 months into my car living, guessing inverter with it is also the issue, because wiring looks fine, never got disturbed anyway, well wish me luck.
I don't think the 09-13's can do this. I tried with my 2013 Silverado and I couldn't get it to work. Guess we will have to put a toggle switch next to our cig lighters
Does it matter if the fuse is female and the factory connection is male? Only reason you don't like the rocking is you're afraid the spade connection will open up making is loose correct?

So glad to hear the video helped you!
Can you make a video on how to replace the broken caps on the ligher? Everyone's breaks and no good vids on how to replace.
I'll keep it mind.
I second this!
Great vid, right to the point and clear on what the fuses are. I never knew that!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you. I have been looking for a solution for this. I followed exactly and did it!
Glad it helped!
That’s awesome, I will have to try this out! Any idea of the fuse rating for the power plug in the glove box?
Thanks!
When you pull the fuse you can read the amperage rating on it.
Where did you buy your tester from? Great vid aswell really helped me
Got it off the SnapOn truck.
Does swapping this affect anything else in the truck? Just want to make sure my obd2 port won’t be affected
OBD2 wouldn't be affected
Thanks man. My dash cam was killing my battery. I was thinking about trading my truck in because of it. Great job
So glad to hear it was a simple fix!
@@AnthonyJ350 very simple. Got tired of unplugging my dash cam every time. Thanks again man
I want the one under the console lid to be on all the time but it’s not tied to these. Was hoping it was!
Sorry to hear that
I can’t get those two cigarette ports to work. This that the same fuse? I can’t seem to tell if it’s blown.
Do a continuity check with a multimeter. Pull the fuse out and test the ends.
My 2014 sierra is a single cab with a full bench seat and so it doesn’t have the center console like you do. Will the fuse location be the same for my cigarette lighter?
I believe it should be
Just tested it and it does work. Thanks for the vid!

Not sure honestly, you would have to try.
I also want to know for cargo bay rear charging port for 2014 suburban.
How can i get constant power to my usb ports and possibly the 110v outlet?
I don't think you can. You don't want that parasitic draw all the time.
What size is that fuse?

Great info
I just did this to mine
2014 GMC SIERRA AT
It'll say in your owner's manual. I don't remember honestly.

Thanks
I will look in the manual

I believe it's labeled in the fuse panel

Can you make the USB ports hot all the time?
probably not. You would have to put a cigarette charger with USB outputs
can’t find the apo/batt fuse on my 2007 suburban, is it even possible? or just the newer models has it? thank!
I believe it's the generation of truck after.
If you found a solution for 2007 model please share it
Not on my 2014 Yukon Denali either

Is it the old body style or the newer one?
Really don't know . 2014 . 5.3.LT
Remote start. Got it about 1 week or so.
@@jr6546 Does it have the same fuse panel as the video?
Looks like it . The fuse that is moved to the other position I have tried that , the fuse that is in that plug is a 50amp square fuse.
@@jr6546 And the power didn't change like how we tested in the video? Same power port?
Any idea how to do this in a 2011 chevy express
Not in this fashion no
Mine from factory stays on for like 2 hours after a ignition rotation.
What year is the truck?
How can I do this on my 04 Tahoe?
I don't think you can unless you rewire it.

I have a 2013 Silverado, and my legend and fuse box layout doesn't look anything like that. Nothing that says APO anywhere.
2013 is the previous generation truck. 2014 was the beginning of the new body style.
