I love this channel because it’s just a happy and sweet man who just wants to show his collection to the world, no drama, no diss tracks or any of that rubbish, just a sweet guy who has a wonderful collection
only tim vid ive ever been disappointed in. i was hoping it was just me but guess not.... ps. dont think it was just the camera man the editor shouldnt have ever found this post worthy
ua-cam.com/video/dNVtMmLlnoE/v-deo.html Camera have a hard time catching this kind of illusion because they don't work the same way as eyes. It's not the refresh rate/fps.
You're right, but with fast enough camera FPS I'm sure you would still catch the illusion anyway; does anyone with a slow-motion camera wants to test that?
Often when a scene is re-recorded multiple times, especially a particularly long one, usually the people in it tends to speed up. So I think he must have had to tried quite a lot of times for this particular video
I did the same thing with lids of markers in elementary school it was cool to see the ball form in the middle still do it sometimes when I’m bored and have a marker
Hmmm... unfortunately I think this might be one of those optical effects that works better in person than one camera. Still, an interesting idea and an interesting collection, as usual.
Hope you won't mind me mentioning another channel for further info. Tadashi spinning tubes on numberphile. He suggests proportions for diy using a bit of plastic pipe, 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 ratio of length to diameter, if memory serves. Like many optical effects it works better live than on video, but a vertical viewpoint would have helped....
Holy cow, I used to to take the caps off of mechanical pencils and shoot them away with that little snapdown technique you use to start the tops. They'd spin like tops if they landed on a table or the floor but they always flew through the air in about the same path, so if you were good enough with your aim you could send them right past a friend's head or land one in their hair.
I did this once with a AA battery - because of the mass it has it goes for a long time. Tyri it out! i did not know, there are actual toys like this at that point.
Heh this made me google, you are indeed right, tho as others have said it sounds wrong to use "spun" instead of "span", which is considered an archaic past form of spin.
Gabriel Baez god I hate adults like you. Kids do have all types of fun and just because we have better technology doesn’t mean anything. I also would bet that you had game consoles too
well yeah, I'm 19 I grew up with a Sega Genesis but I loved to play with other toys. Now a days (at least in the area I live in) the children are more on their phones that playing with other things. sure they have toys but nothing more that plushies and dolls. however I want it noted that I am not a 100% sure what children do these days as I have come to know that that is called "borderline pedophilia".
god i love cylinders
Berd who doesn't
um me my papa got killed by a cylinder muuahh
well well well look who we have here
Hey what up berd !! Wtf lol
What da heck berd. Just 10 mins ago?
Still waiting for that Beyblade collection...
anythingorz me too
Tim lets it rip.
anythingorz me too
He might refer that as a hebrew tradition that is modernized. like a dreidel made in the 21st century
@@Minoriscful i’m surprised that he doesn’t have dreidels in his collection
I love this channel because it’s just a happy and sweet man who just wants to show his collection to the world, no drama, no diss tracks or any of that rubbish, just a sweet guy who has a wonderful collection
Tim has a more reliable upload schedule than the vast majority of UA-camrs
After this he went on to teach at Hogwarts. He's of course the current headmaster there
Let's be Honest Official
of course... of course..
Let's be Honest Official I doubt it, Hogwarts is interesting.
He is collecting No-maj artifacts
Let's be Honest Official
He teaches a new class called History of Muggle toys
New
Items?
Looks
Excellent.
Wonderfully
Amusing
Toys
Effortlessly
Rotating.
Well played sir, well played.
Ah, the ol' acrostic poem.
Nile water
His explanations are simply epic and correct. One of the best channel I've seen in youtube. This guy is a true teacher.
"What we got here then"
We need one of the camera crew to follow Tim around the New York toy fair next year, I really want to see Tim free range in his natural habitat
The energy in this video is chaotic and it’s GOOD.
Poor cameraman.
only tim vid ive ever been disappointed in. i was hoping it was just me but guess not.... ps. dont think it was just the camera man the editor shouldnt have ever found this post worthy
_Recording Stress Level:_ *High!*
Well those cylinders are very random so you cant really expect better quality
im pretty sure he didnt mean "poor" as in "bad", he meant "poor" as in "poor guy was having to follow those things all over the place".
Jim Steinbrecher ou lol
Roses are red
I clean using mops
Tim's Cylindrical Spinning Tops
Thank you Tim once again.....
The camera does t really pick up the illusion
The refresh rate is different to that of the human eye.
even if it does; the video was uploaded to youtube with less than 30 FPS, I think that's the problem.

A cylinder would be very handy for transporting something from the Nile.... let me think.... I wonder what?
Pyramids.
No wait, Egyptians.
WAPEr stop the FiLe!!!???
Dio Brando.
Sand perhaps....
The rains down in Africa?
Was Tim in a rush here or something? He seems quite panicked.
Often when a scene is re-recorded multiple times, especially a particularly long one, usually the people in it tends to speed up. So I think he must have had to tried quite a lot of times for this particular video
I think this one was tough to show, he had to retry a lot of times for it to work, and the camera doesn't show it properly.
Oh no i think I've just come across the perfect channel to get distracted from homework by!
I wonder if Tim's ever heard of the puzzle solving video game series Professor Layton
I did the same thing with lids of markers in elementary school it was cool to see the ball form in the middle still do it sometimes when I’m bored and have a marker
your videos always cheer me up
I used to do this with AA batteries when i was younger, fascinating
Oooh, i used to play with my already short pencils like that...
Didn't know there's actually toys based on that
Lol, I remember doing that with glue sticks back in elementary.
same but yet I still do it in college
i got in trouble for doing that!
yay more tim
edit: I typed that sub-consciously, but I realised that though I enjoy watching the toys, it is tim that really makes me happy
Ashens has his couch. Tim has his table.
It's the spinning that makes it pleasurable.
I dont think the effect works on camera because of the frame rate
My favourite UA-camr and person
Wonderful stuff Tim! HEH!
Hmmm... unfortunately I think this might be one of those optical effects that works better in person than one camera. Still, an interesting idea and an interesting collection, as usual.
Oh man i used to use chapstick to play on my school desk like this. Great video!

I used to do this with marker caps all the time lol
I still do this with marker caps, and coins if I get it right.

😤 😚 💖 💖 💖 💖 💕 💕 💕 💖 💖 💖 I love you spinning top toys and all your other toys love from Vanessa
The number 1 appears more clearly than 2 because it's spinning slower since its on the edge?
There do u store all this stuff?
Is there a way to motorize this and or add a ripcord
Well this video kinda shows why they arent that many. Poor tim struggling with his tops
Geez Tim, calm down
The spin tops are not going anywhere.
Where does he get all of his toys
Love the vids ..just couldn’t really see the effect of the hearts, words or the spider because of the camera angle. Still thanks👍🏻
I feel like the effect didn't translate to camera all that well...
If I learned one thing from the Star Wars prequels, it's that spinning is always a good trick.
Super vidéo !
What is it with people and spinning toys?
Nice toy idea, easy to DIY! :-)
I did this once with a AA battery - because of the mass it has it goes for a long time. Tyri it out! i did not know, there are actual toys like this at that point.
Tom struggling today! 😂 still love him tho!
Is Tim an exclusive toy collector or an item collector?
What about trumpo? (Spinning top in philliphines
Hello Tim. Have you heard of the book Anno's Animals by the artist Mitsumasa Anno. I would recommend it.
well, that was awesome!
lipstick or lip balm stick caps work great for this. Played all the time with that in high school. that was the og fidget spinner :P
Tops from the Nile
heh
is this really a thing? it looks (and sounds) like a cat tumbling over a box of empty coke cans...
I was waiting for that 'heh'
Never came, sigh...
I imagine this guy smells like a old sweet shop tobacconist. He sounds like Patrick Moore, enthusiastic about his topic.
This episode could use a collaboration with the slo-mo guys.
An old man who plays with toys.
That's probably gonna be me when I grow up!
When cameraman gives up.
I love being this early for a Tim video
I wonder if Tim is aware of Beyblade, I think he'd like it, plus the anime might give him a chuckle.
Just amazing videos
Hello, we've been watching you for many years and we've made a movie with our collection too
We got along like a house on fire.
I saw top in the title and thought he was gonna show us his Beyblade collection
I didn’t know I needed this
You spin me right round...
Show us your vinyl toy collection
A "double spinning action" from the nile
How to summon Tim Rowett :
Read this phrase out loud three times :
"ELIN EHT MORF RETAW"
reminds me of a modern toy like this
The spider one is awesome
I love you channel and spin tops like beyblade I made my own beyblade to and love your channel byeeeee
This video was a bit of a Parker square.
they're broken my dude
"2 axes", or axis'
Kicking this weekend of with a SPIN
4:39 Makes me think more of a bee.
I found this out a while ago with a marker cap
I don't see the effect that he is describing
This video stresses me out.
"HEH"
Too bad not many of them span for long :(
Brekner Catalin They would, but Tim can't do it or it will stay off scene.
Spun*
Heh this made me google, you are indeed right, tho as others have said it sounds wrong to use "spun" instead of "span", which is considered an archaic past form of spin.
If ever another camera angle was needed.
*Double Spinning Action*
This would be interesting for Tadashi Tokieda from Numberphiles
I used to do this with glue sticks and chap stick in elementary school.
Good simple fun. Seems kids today dont know what they are missing.
Gabriel Baez god I hate adults like you. Kids do have all types of fun and just because we have better technology doesn’t mean anything. I also would bet that you had game consoles too

True. When you have kids it becomes more apparent.
Not so easy to spin spinny things from the Nile
*Spinning tops from the nile*
Does anyone do this with glue sticks?
Ooh this is just like what ppl did with AA batteries.
Cylinders of the NIle.
Cool illusions
It looks really bad on regular video speed. But in real live....
Water from the nile.
I use to do this with an AAA battery.
let us beyblade my brethren
