    Thooorin reking that guy defending the NA scene is fucking hilarious lol, just a shame that guy probably never see this. God, Thorin is so good at what he does. We're so gifted to have Thorin and RL in our CS scene, yet some people just don't understand the impact these two figures have had. I love how the guy was like Thorin doesn't know what teams and Allu and Pimp were doing even though Thorin and RL were the ones who were instigating most of, if not all of those discussions between the two players and teams.

      +ESPSJ So thooorin SOMEHOW JUSTIFIES, his CONSTANT BASHING of the NA scene as FAIR BECAUSE, "NA does it in other sports when you guys win". Like what? So he somehow, tries to justify his actions, AS IN SOME OTHER SPORT, NA fans act like cunts. "NA fans are cunts in MMA so that allows ME to act like a cunt in the CS scene" Like what the actual fuck? That logic is horrible.
      Is the NA CS scene, somehow responsible for ALL THE CUNT ACTIONS that NA fans commit in SOME OTHER SPORTS and scenes? Is this real life right now?
      Also, NA CS players or analysts NEVER trash talk the EU scene EVEN WHEN there's a chance for it. And yes, some NA fans will trash talk EU on the forums when we win, BUT, THESE FANS DO NOT REPRESENT THE NA TEAMS OR THE NA PRO SCENE. You shouldn't start taking stabs at the PRO NA CS SCENE JUST to piss off some deluded fans WHILE you're taking undeserved stabs at people who don't deserve them .
      Do you think NA players asked for these deluded fans? NA players are not responsible in anyway AND DO NOT deserve constant bashing just because some fucking retarded fans on the forums are brain dead.
      IF NA SCENE/PLAYERS talked themselves up constantly and were acting really cocky all the time, THEN the NA TEAMS/PLAYERS deserve the trash talk. THE NA teams ACKNOWLEDGE how bad they are compared to EU and are not being cocky AT ALL. They're bad and they know it and they ALWAYS talk about EU PLAYERS/TEAMS with utmost respect and always look up to their skill.
      So, if the NA PRO SCENE, is not being cocky at all, and acknowledge how bad they are against EU teams, then why do they deserve to get constantly reminded of how badly they are doing? Doesn't make any sense. It seems like thooorin got beaten up by some NA player in a LAN and he's trying to get a revenge on him, by constantly reminding how bad NA is as that's the only way he can get a revenge AND at the same time, being a cunt towards people who have done nothing to deserve it.

      +Nick Matthews Though i dont agree with 1.6 being a superior game, I do believe the reason lots of people like 1.6 more is because CSGO is played so differently not because they are being nostalgic. So I agree with you Thorin in that they arent being nostalgic but I don't agree that you can say it IS a superior game. Thats far more down to opinion.

    • @thelaw8042
      @thelaw8042 9 років тому

      +Nick Matthews
      Competitively it is. You can look at power of weapons to price and see this. Also look at the maps and compaire then to 1.6. A lot easier to see in 1.6. Even though many pistols were useless the ones used were very balanced. (at the vary least you can agree pistol rounds were more skillful than adad crouch spamming.

    • @antix995
      @antix995 9 років тому

      +The Law So lets get this out of the way first. Its not a case of it IS better or ISNT. This is opinion. Don't be that guy.
      Personally I prefer nicer looking graphics as the old cs 1.6 graphics I find boring (naturally as its much older). So what if its harder to make out opponents? Surely that raises the skill level? It makes for a much more interesting spectator experience. Would you seriously prefure to play cbble thats just a bunch of green squares? Cmon. Maybe what the game needs is better lighting? I'm sorry but i find this point preposturous.
      Secondly you've totally contradicted yourself with the pistol point. "Of the ones that were used, they were balanced" doesn't make sense cause as are insinuating only a select few of the available pistols are usable therefore are unbalanced compared to the rest.
      Whilst i'm on the subject of weapon balance, the CSGO weapon balance is FAR better than 1.6 and almost all the weapons are usable now (minus a few to be fair to your argument) which not only makes it more interesting for us watching, but creates more scenarios for the players to account for and therefore raise the skill ceiling again.
      I just find the "easier" to see argument rediculous. Thats why office is boring now. Cause everyone complained about too many moving objects -_- . You just can't say its better on the grounds its more user friendly.

    • @thelaw8042
      @thelaw8042 9 років тому

      +Nick Matthews
      Ok first when arguing if a game is good or not it is a opinion if there is no context. When you add context than you can start injecting facts because now you have a way to measure how good a game is within the context of what you consider a good game. My premise is not that csgo is a bad game, but a worse competitive game than 1.6. The reasons for this is because everything is more random in csgo.
      Now how on earth is not being able to see something due to something out of your control a skill? How does this make sense?! You can't train yourself to see something you can't see how is that possible? We are talking about a game where you can die near instantly and you somehow think that not being able to see something is a skill. If it takes me a quarter if a second longer to see due to the map I'm dead against the best players in the world That's a huge deal and that takes away skill not add. (this is assumeing I even see him)

    • @thelaw8042
      @thelaw8042 9 років тому

      +Nick Matthews
      No I am not contradicting myself because the pistols are better balanced than csgo. Viable doesn't mean anything without context. Instead of thinking "everything should be viable" you should instead think "in what way should these things be viable". Now this sounds similar, but it's not. Think about it what does cs have that other games don't that you immediately see when you first play in a match. The things you see are: 1) you have a plus shaped crosshair and you have money. You have to buy things every round so obviously this game is punshing those who lose because losing means you lose money. What other reason is there to make you buy things every round? It's why the awp is so expensive. You get punished for loseing it, but it's very powerful.
      Now look at the pistols. All that reasoning goes down the drain with the economy of the game. First it doesn't make sense because It goes against the reason for having a economy, it goes against valves previous logic of balancing the price of a weapon to how powerful it is, and it runs counter to what was Cs's philosophy in all previous iterations that I am aware of. Secondly it takes away skill from the game. Now why is that? Well lets look at it from both sides perspective. I'm olof ct holding banana. The enemy team is Envy force buying tec-9s. I get rushed and immediately headshoted from 1 of the ts and die. I didn't get a kill. Why is that? Well from olof's perspective I have to hit a small moving target (the head) while being shot at by multiple enemies trying to headshot or mass body shot me. So I need to be very skilled to get a kill before I die. Now look from the other side. I am a terrorist that is preaiming a angle a ct is likely to bevand when I see him all I have to do is keeping holding strafe and move my crosshair a bit and spam along with the rest of my team and we are some of the beat aimers in the world. (I am talking about competitive so I am looking at the elites) Now it's significantly easier to hit a stationary target than a moving one on top of that I have four other people with a highly spamable firearm that only cost $400. Think about that for a second, $400. Even if Envy lost that round odds are they got 2 kills and almost no punishment. The fact that it cost $400 means that it is a tiny punishment to potentially (with a good chance) win the round or severely hurt my opponents economy. Now you can say. I am cherry picking you can apply this to all the pistols you can buy. The 5-7, tec-9, cz, deagel, heck even the p250 which you can buy almost whenever you want because it costs as much as a nade.All are extremely cheep, all are accurate while moving, and (or just extremely accurate at mid range aka degal) all kill faster than a weapon wgich costs $3100. Do you see the problem with that? It seems damn obvious. If you are in cqc these weapons have a advantage over weapons significantly more expensive for costing almost nothing. I didn't say 1.6 had great balance I said it had better balance because within the context of the systems in the game the weapons are balanced. Oh and Envy, the pioneers of this tactic, complained about it.

    The pick ban thing is so important. Bit of back story, got global and now I'm trying amateur level. We don't put in the hours pro teams do and never really expect to. but learning all the maps in the current active map pool from an MM level to the level needed for amateur play is brutal, its been a month and we have barley got two maps to a point we feel comfortable (there is always room for improvement on every map, new smokes, strats, etc.) It is impossible to be at the top level on every map. Some people just don't preform on certain maps.

    Funny how Thooorin spends alot of time speaking about people making assumptions based on nothing,
    wich in turn should maybe teach people something.
    But when you read the comments,
    It's as if people never really took to it.
    Another great vid Thooorin!

    I fucking love Thorin he keeps me grounded when I get taken in by the Reddit circle jerks. For example when he was talking about the professional cricketer I remember arguing to my mates that competetive lol was a sport but he reminded me that there's no point in me giving a shit because there's no good outcome in people saying its a sport.

    Thorin, why do we never get to watch the female CS:Go tournaments on twitch? Sure it wouldnt draw the same number of viewers but it would still draw some, and surely its better than showing reruns? Also for tournaments which have a female division, are there rules in place which stop females from playing in the main tourny if there was girls who were good enough to play against the best male players?
