Looks great Daryl! I've got some catching up to do on videos but really like the progress on your layout. The backgrounds really add effect to the yard. - Steve
Daryl...Great stuff. The high value load that's at the rear of the train should be (if my memory is correct) between the 5th and the 10th car of the train...and not next to any hazmat loads. If that's not attainable, as close to the 10th car as it can be. This is not a criticism, but just the way it is. That's why the conductor goes over the train list. The list also might point out a blocking error. Fun stuff. In your case it would have been fun to have the yard crew switch out the train to make it compliant. Always love to hear the yard crews complain. Cheers!!!🐪
15:53 It's cool that you have a variety of UP AC4400s, which is very prototypical. As you mentioned, *UP 7098* has nose number boards, ditch lights mounted beneath the anticlimber, and has a windowed crew entry door, while *UP 7157* has cab eyebrow number boards, ditch lights mounted on top of the anticlimber, and has a non-windowed crew entry door. 19:55 UP is right-hand running from Curvo to Council Bluffs, IA, where the original Union Pacific connected to the former Chicago & Northwestern. CNW (which was acquired by UP) was and still is left-hand running along virtually their entire portion of the _Overland Route_ from Chicago, IL to Council Bluffs, IA / Freemont, NE. Very nice video. Cheers
I encourage you to try Smokebox Graphics reflective yellow stripes over the red ones. They really pop. Blown away on your progress on this new HO layout. Rock on.
hello daryl it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks daryl thanks and i am work on my layout ho scale and with my dad & randy and i am enjoy yours video darly thanks friends randy
I can't remember for sure but I think there is a Grain Train that runs from Evanston Yard to Fremont Nebraska. There also is a conterpart if one exists I can't remember for sure Here are those symbols unfortunately none run out of Evansville like I thought GSFMGH Gavilon Grain, Fremont, NE to Goshen Junction, CA Runs As needed Grain loads GSGHFM Goshen Junction, CA to Gavilion Grain in Fremont, NE Runs As needed Grain empties GSFMKE Gavilon Grain in Fremont, NE to Keyes, CA Runs As needed Grain loads GSKEFM Keyes, CA to Gavilon Grain in Fremont, NE runs As needed Grain empties
@27:20 For the other manifest heading upgrade on the younger mainline, are you able to fleet the crossover and signals at Wahsatch CP to "automatically" give it a green signal after the train you are controlling clears the checkpoint? Just wondering if today's software allows for that kind of operational convenience. Thanks for the stream. It is all coming together nicely!
7098 looks like a old ex cnw ac4400 with the low ditch lights below the platform up front versus the newer ones with the lights above on top of the platform
Same here@@EvanstonSub - I'd be curious to know how many cars were running on that intermodal line. I've just started collecting HO well cars to start running intermodals soon. 😎
Hi Daryl, Nice work as usual! I love the backgrounds that you have created using Walgreens photo. I was wondering if you might be able to do a tutorial video on how you use the Walgreens website to create the background? Thanks and thanks for the videos! Very inspiring! -Ryan
Howdy Daryl! Always enjoy a little ops now and then lol. Those ScaleTrains are pretty sharp. Really enjoyed it - thanks for sharing 🤠

Very cool. I will definitely try to incorporate that kind of ops into the sessions

Interesting, thanks so much for the info.

I plan to use them on rolling stock.
I can't wait to see a solid Autorack train with Smokebox Graffix reflective stripes! You go Daryl! Oh, can you show off those beautiful SD40Ns?
Who makes those SD40s?
Athearn came out with them, UP numbered them from 1550 - 2089? Nice looking models. I helped Athearn with the 1616 if you can find any of them.
Plus a lot of graffiti
2500 series standard cab NS were SD70s.
Yep
Before their rebuilds, those SD70s was my favorite SD on the NS. Now it's the SD33Eco.
Interesting, what year were they Rebuilt and how many of them?
Just curious why you didn't get all yellow striped scale trains locos and change numbers instead of the stripes?
It was the lighted number boards that kept me from renumbering the one yellow sill loco. Did not think decals would look right lighted from behind.
How many engines and what Railroads do you have?
Cool.
Thanks
I love these videos, I have driven buy here so many times I know where all this is :)
Glad you enjoy it!
hello daryl it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks daryl thanks and i am work on my layout ho scale and with my dad & randy and i am enjoy yours video darly thanks friends randy
Cool, thanks
The NS 2567 is actually a SD70
Yep, you are correct.
Awesome video
Thanks!
18:50 “a crew change in the 1/87 scale engineers, not the full size engineers.”❤

Wow, thank you for the info. I may be incorporating this into operations somehow
The black NS engine is a SD 70
Yep. You are right

Yes, it does.

I checked and I don't think it was CNW.
That stacktrain line looked super long!
Love long trains

I've just started collecting HO well cars to start running intermodals soon. 😎
I think there are 34 wells
I like the fuel ing area so far will the lights work 😂😂
They do not light, but could add that later

I'll check it out!
I was curious if you had to sell your layout how much money would it be??
A lot.
the black NS units is a SD70 not a SD60
Yes, my bad
