Spot on. I have the V5 in a 9.5. So when I went to buy the V6 I assumed that since it's the same brand and model it would be the same size. Didn't work for me. I had to size down to a 9 for the correct fit.
Honestly 990v6 fit a slightly narrow and long , kinda like the Shape of Converse chuck taylors or Vans . Im an 11 1/2 in most NB's but in 990v6 i need a 11 Wide , sucks since only the standard black ,blue come in all sizes
It is for sure a narrow and long shoe, almost like a banana lol. That's very unfortunate that they don't make other colors in the wide. Maybe try and find ways to stretch a pair out
Yes. Having the exact same problem. Going down a half size made the length right, but they were pretty tight around widest outside part of my left foot. I don't ever wear wides. So how does going wide feel? Does it feel too wide, too much material, or make the heel slip?
Sizing is hard to get right if you're new to the 99X shoes 😢. I wear a 10 4E in all New Balance running shoes, ASICS Nimbus 25. It fits perfect - zero heel slip. Also wear the Nike Pegasus in a 10 wide. I got my first 990v6 in a 10,4E. Way too long but a little narrow. Ended up returning it. Got the 9.5 4E, still a little long. Went to the New Balance store and got the 990v6 in a 9, 6E and it felt the best out of all of them so I picked it up. I also ordered the 993 in a 10, 4E online and it was the most comfy shoe I've put on my foot, but it was too long. My foot was sliding forward and back a little. I'm gonna return it and try the 993 4E in a 9.5. 99X are amazing shoes but sizing isn't easy-but I imagine it's harder to get right for wide footers since wide feet are often wide in different parts of the foot.
It's almost impossible to find the right size in the 99X. I love your dedication to find the right size. It's a hassle but well worth it. I hope you finally find the perfect fit, you deserve it after all you have been through 😂
Not to be weird or anything but can you show us where your toes are in the toe box area compared to other shoes. Sizing can be very tricky and it would be nice to have some kind of references. Anyways, thanks for the great content brother. Love
I feel like EU people have different feet as for me I’ll go with all my new balance tts which is EU 44.5. I started my journey with NB few weeks ago and already have 550, 2002r, 1906r, 9060, 990v2, 990v3, 3 pairs of 990v6 and 991v2 and all of them are 44.5 and they just fit perfectly also when I watch UA-camrs from EU they also say to go TTS with 990v6 but UA-camrs from America says to go like half size down from your TTS. Before swapping to NB I had a lot of Nike and adidas and was running as well my tts which in Nike is 44.5 and adidas 44.2/3
That's very interesting that EU UA-camrs prefer true to size and over here we say half size down. It all comes down to preference and what kind of fit you like. On the other hand, that's an extremely solid collection you have built!

Haha yes everything started thanks to 2002r as it was my first pair of NB and now I’m watching and learning everything about new balance as I was always Nike and Adidas in terms of sneakers so watching your videos like maniac as well 😂
Good information, I wear 996 of size 10 it fits me very well, but as you know 996 is a bit wider at toe as compare to 990 v6 so should I go with size 10 or should I reduce it to 9.5. As I go to gym and love running so a shoe tighter may hurt my middle, ring and pinky toe respectively. So I am really confused with size. Kindly guide me that should I stick to 9.5 or should I go with 10. I am waiti g for your response. Thanks.
I personally have never tried the wide toe box but if you want a good fit around the toes and you have a wider foot, I think that would be a great idea

The store didn't carry Wides for me to try on. But I normally don't wear EE, so I am worried they might be too wide?
I personally never felt that it was a tight fit on the tongue area. I do know that the more I wear the half size down pair, the more it loosens up and fits better to the foot

If i purchase size 10, wouldn't it become loose as more I wear it with passage of time, or should it be 9.5 as it becomes fitter with time. The only thing that I am concerned about 9.5 size is tightness around my fingers. In the case of size 10, I think the shoe may become long, and i may feel less stable. I don't want to compromise on comfortable brother. I know I am taking your time a lot, but I am very concerned. Looking forward to your response, which will solve my problem.
So true. If you're looking for a snug, secure fit go a half size down. Felt going TTS had too much room in the toes.

I would go with the 10 if you’re gonna be using it for running. Having that extra toe room will be beneficial

I wear all my new balances to the gym and run and them! I believe you can do anything in a new balance

I would say that a whole size down would be pushing it. Taking the insole out might help but you would probably lost a lot of comfort
