The pipe you call the big o, here in Australia we call it Agricultural pipe & use it for sub-surface drainage, you can get what they call a sock for it, the sock stops all the fines from clogging the pipe, lay it in a trench with gravel around the property. At a central point you could put in a Solar powered pump lower than the pipe itself with a cistern to turn the pump on when levels start to rise. Build a box around this so you always have access. Just a thought. You are doing a great job, good team work, Cheers guys, have a nice day !!!
As always, great job you two. The positive can-do attitude goes a long way in overcoming the headaches. Thank you for sharing with us as you do. Meg you remind me of our American farm girls, never questioning the time to dirty. You jump right in and go. Take care and be safe guys till next time.
Thank you so much Jeremy! Definitely fun to get in the mud and get dirty! Man did it get cold by the end there lol!! Hope you're having a great weekend!
Wow!! Meg you are superhuman. Not everyone would have held up to standing in a water and mud filled trench for days. You both did well in those conditions and on top all that you made an amazing video. I hope everything works out for the 2 of you.
Love Love Love watching you guys. Nothing brings you down. Great attitude and personalities and Meg is VERY easy on the eyes. Love you more with each video. Keep 'em coming as I'm sure we all look forward to them
Almost 9000 views and only 1700 likes???? People the more we hit the like button the more these two are rewarded by UA-cam making this project a little more affordable for them. Editing these videos is no easy task and takes up a lot of time. Let's do our part and hit that thumbs up button and show Mike and Meg how much we enjoy them sharing their journey.
Mike. You need to take Meg out for a nice dinner and a drink! I don’t think there are too many women that would get down in all that mud and trenches to help with getting all those lines laid and buried? She is a “Wonder Woman” for sure, great partner, friend and lover!!
To Mike. You need to give Meg a HUGE hug and kiss for all the help she is for you. I can’t count the number of women that wouldn’t dare get THAT involved with outside projects. She’s one in multimillions!!!!!
You got it wrong there , Meg is the one pushing thru all the projects. She’s the one getting all the little things going and complete. While he’s away working during the week she’s busy preparing things that they do together when he’s off . She’s the full time person at the homestead. And she more then likely has a job she can do from the trailer with the inter web via star link
@@williammusgraves2852 My comment is about the work shown here. I’ve seen all the videos showing her working solo, but her tenacity in these conditions is to be admired. Most of the outdoor women video influencers wouldn’t help him. They would tell him to call his guy friends or hire it out.
Great video! If I l owned your property, I would look into installing perforated black corrugated plastic drain tile under your property to drop your water table. Dealing with mud is going to be an ongoing issue. It could be installed just deep enough to drain water into the ditch at the back of your property with gravity OR it could go in the ground deeper and drain into a sump with a pump in it. The downside to using the sump and pump method is, the pump would be running all the time due to the amazing amount of water you have just a couple feet deep. Anyway, as you can imagine there are plenty of UA-cam videos out there about it. All the best!
Incredible journey! Was very envious of your well! We're in no. Ca. And ours is 503' deep. Needless to say we didn't drill it ourselves! Meg being in the trenches scared me a few times! Looked like it could collapse as wet as it was! 😮 Enjoy your videos a bunch!
Watching your video is like watching a suspense thriller! I kept wondering what happens next! Congratulations on the success of your unbelievable and difficult work under horrible conditions! ❤️🇨🇦
Canadians are such awesome people. Down here a contractor taking extra time to help do something outside of his wheelhouse is rare, especially for no extra charge. I wish it wasn't so cold up there. I'd move in a heartbeat. I have to say, I love your background music.
Moles digging holes in the mud lol. Your work ethic is great and you both make a good team. Getting it done no matter the obstacles that get tossed your way.
When you guys install new plumbing in your trailer, make absolutely sure you fully wrap your pipes with insulation. When you think you have wrapped them enough, wrap them some more. Because if you don't you will have frozen pipes in the winter and that can lead to cracked pipes. You don't want to have to replace pipes in the winter. It's totally worth the extra money spent. You guys are doing a great job, being novices.
Amazing work! You both are so blessed & have such good attitudes. God speed to you. You probably already know this, but it's on my mind after watching, try to us ball valves rather than a gate valves whenever possible. Gate valves have a terrible habit of failing over time without use. They like to lock up and leak.
Omg, it feels like yesterday when Meg started working on her car and the channel had a few hundred subs. Now she is close to 100k! I hope that additional income helps to make their dream become real.
I'd advise (when you can) putting 5 gal buckets around the bottom of your hydrants. What you backfilled with will eventually plug that 1/4 inch weep hole. I've seen the perfect sized pebble plug that weep hole. Even setting silt will do it. Cut the bottom out of a 5 gal bucket and slide it down over hydrant . Fill the bucket with gravel larger than the weep hole. Cut a slit in the lid to place back around the hydrant with a 1 1/2? inch hole for hydrant . I even wrap plastic around lid and where the hydrant goes thru the lid to prevent silt, over time, filtering back into bucket and sealing it. I even put a 1/4 inch 90 degree elbow into weep hole and face it down so that perfect size rock or pebble doesn't block it as easy. I've all this happen to me or friends and of course your hydrant will freeze and break in the middle of winter! Love your channel.
Considering the conditions and it’s just the two of you, be proud! It’s amazing what y’all have accomplished in the time you have. I don’t even know you and I’m proud of you!!😃
Holy moly you guys are incredible, not many people could deal with that situation like you guys are! And here in Norway we know all about it being dark and miserable after 5 😂 It is so inspiring watching you two! Keep up the good work ☺️💪🏻
Congrats to you and Mike! That is a huge accomplishment. Don’t worry about the way the land looks, you guys are a step closer to your dream. Meg, you are a rock star getting into that muddy trench. It was only an hour video but we know you were in the trench for days! Keep it up guys!
Complicated! Ma brane hertz!! Good to see such remarkable progress! It's really good to see you both working as a team, you complement each other so well! So much laughter!! Just think, though, people pay a fortune for mud pack skin treatments... you're getting it for free! 🥰😂🤣😅😆
Wow, that was intense. Great viewing. Really good to see the progress on the property and your channel growing with it. I rememeber when you hit 10,000. Come on 100,000. Let's gooo!
I am a retired Plumber after 40 years and I can say with pure certainty that the rock you put around your yard hydrants has to much fines or dust in it. You need to put 1-1/2" clean rock around it to be sure the hydrant will drain, I hope you have the supplies with valves so you can shut them off when they freeze this winter. I have installed very many of those hydrants over 40 years and it is the most important thing you have to do when installing yard hydrants, unless you live in Florida or the deep south. I must say I really enjoy your video's, I just wish I was there to advise you a little bit on plumbing mistake you are making. Keep up the hard work and I am sure you will get there.
Wow! I do not envy your ground conditions. I thought we were wet here in South Wales, UK, but doing what you're doing on a peat bog.... impressive! I'm really enjoying your energy and zest to get through the challenges and I'm looking forward to you having a little comfort in the manufactured home. I mean, remodelling is comfort compared to swamp snorkeling yeah? You two are a great watch. Love it.
Hi Meg and Mike 👋🏻 Always great to hear from you! Incredible amount of hard work you are putting into your homestead, and well worth it. God Bless 🙏🏻 you, stay safe and take care my friends 👍🏻 Appreciate you always!
Awesome video, thank you both for sharing. You might have heard me shout all the way from the UK when Mike's new favourite wrench dropped down the pipe 🤣🤣
What an intense project and mudfest! Meg, I think you and Mike can now consider yourselves experts in trench digging! Congratulations on getting water a power to your manufactured home! The orange conduit reminded of the main generator replacement at the Columbia Icefield, AB in 2021. They switched out the diesel genny for a propane powered one and had to run a new electrical cable from staff accommodations, under the Icefields Parkway, to the hotel. I look forward to your video on hooking up to the septic bed :)
I fixed up a 1977 Gaur Mobile Home one time. I empathized with every issue. I didn't see you do it in the video, but I put 2 sets of heat tape on my water lines covered in pipe insulation. You'll definitely need heat tape in Canada. Super Video! Best yet! You guys are AMAAAAAAAY Zing!
Some of the most ambitious couples we have seen in quite a while! Keep up the good work you going to appreciate it it all down the road. Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
1:04:37 Awesome Work!!! It is sooo nice to be young. Standing in water waste deep in freezing temperatures. JUST INCREDIBLE!! That was ALOT of work!!! Yup the projects slow down in the snow time. I hope it is a short winter this year as there will be projects like fencing and barn building coming up 🎉🎉🎉 congrats on the power and water. Might think about a 19 SEER heat pump.. we have two split systems in. Our 14 x 53 mobile house. But thing to conciser is that heat. Pumps work to -5. Cheers
Love the attitude of both of you, the fact you just get on with things make you a great team together, just love your videos, all the best from SCOTLAND.

You two make a great team. Take time in the spring and shoot some elevations on the area you are working. I feel you need some fill to place down. Do a topographical drawing of the area. Everything you plan will be a success if you do this. Best wishes. Great video.
Wee tip. Any pipes for utilities you put underground tie seme draw rope to a steel pin and feed this through each section before gluing this way you have a rope to pull any cables through the pipe and if needed tie another rope onto what you drew through so a spare rope stays in the pipe for any possible future use.
Sometimes, until the hips in the mud. And that at 4C, i hope you didn't catch a cold. Now the camper and the mobile home have water and power. A big help for your next renovation steps.😊
Wow!!! What a massive projec not to mention all the water and mud to deal with. Congrats on your endurance. Keep up the great work. And also good teamwork!!!
You should also think about empty pipes in case you want to install batteries with your solar system as a backup when there is little sun or when the sun is not shining. And you don't want to have these batteries in your house, if only because of the fire hazard. That's why it would be good if you laid one or two more empty pipes to your small technical building. Because now you've dug up the earth. Who wants to do that a second time? And you should definitely create a plan showing where you have laid which cables in case you want to plant trees later or a defect occurs. Such a plan is worth its weight in gold
.Another great video it's enjoyable watch the stages yins are doing.i worked construction most of my like and I rember them days playing in mud lol and water
Thanks so much! Definitely one of those type 2 fun activities being in the mud and water lol! But always rewarding to get the job done with a little grit in the teeth!
Nice work. Given the nature of the ground on the property, have you thought about putting in some serious drainage? Seems like you’re going to be susceptible to flooding and just general mud build up, so having a reliable method of continuously draining the ground might be a good idea?
Meg my heart was in my mouth when you were deep in those trenches covered in water, I was terrified the trench would collapse on you, thankfully it didn't, you and Mike are amazing working in those conditions
Yes, deep trench, soft ground, loads of water, chest waders, darkness and a machine working next to the trench - very sketchy. You got away with it, thankfully. Stay safe.
You guys are absolutely amazing! You guys works so well together and have such great attitudes. Love watching the progress and the incredible work. Keep it up!
A tip for the water valves in the wall. Take the red knob off of the old valve and put it on where your going to use the red pex. That way you can tell one from the other with out tearing into the wall.
I like the interior of the mobile home. It looks to be in really good condition. I personally like the oak cabinetry. It has a warm feel to it. Why replace it unless you love to spend money???
I have to admit Mike is a lucky guy. Meg is super awesome. She is the super trooper of women, the type of pioneer partner that built many a frontier. The fact that she is beautiful but talented too and willing to get into the muck & mire of demanding work is rare. She does a variety of physical work that not all guys can do, let alone most women. Meg is definitely a super trooper person of the highest quality. Good luck with the remaining build.
Mike, Meg what a job you both have accomplished by playing in the mud ,I bet that shower felt great... With the high water table,I hope when you build your house , you build it on cement pillars off the ground in case you have a flood in the future, it's scary.... One thing for sure the dirt is very rich for planting a garden..... Enjoyed the video of your hard work. God Bless.......😊😊😊
Man, you guys are amazing! You really kicked some butt. For your main house, seriously consider solar and heat pump for heating and AC. Great work both of you. Really love your content
I always look forward to your videos. You and Mike are an inspiration to me. I am a little too old to tackle the same projects you guys are doing but I told you last time, I am making wooden American Flags and Police blue line flags for the officers in my hometown. I enjoy my making the flags but mostly seeing the smiles on the officers face when I give it to them. Thank you for posting your projects and keep up the good work.
So relieved for you that you have the water and electrical hooked up! You two are beyond troopers battling those elements! You persevered and yes, it did pay off! Looking forward to the next video (i can relate to sepic projects 😝😁😉).
Great video. You should probably wear a harness with a rope attached to a support in case the trench caves in. Glad you survived all that mud and water. I'm sure a hot shower felt soo good!
OMG, guys.... being a homeowner and having to deal with a high water table myself, I feel your pain. It seems like your entire property is floating on water soaked peat. I wish you luck and hope you don't tire of the continuous battles. I very much enjoy watching your ventures.
Probably too late for this, but as you dug the trenches, I kept thinking French drains. Route the ground water to a pond.
This is a crazy amount of work, bravo you two.

.Another great video it's enjoyable watch the stages yins are doing.i worked construction most of my like and I rember them days playing in mud lol and water
Stay safe.
Working hard with fun and laughter, good job, ⚒️⚒️
You guys are great! I am very glad that everything worked out for you!❤
You guys are absolutely amazing! You guys works so well together and have such great attitudes. Love watching the progress and the incredible work. Keep it up!
A tip for the water valves in the wall. Take the red knob off of the old valve and put it on where your going to use the red pex. That way you can tell one from the other with out tearing into the wall.
Hi Meg. I enjoy all of your videos. Thanks for sharing. Blessings from Rick, in N.H.
The last time I've seen so many muddy trenches was when I was watching a movie about World War 1. Love the press on regardless attitude!
I look forward to seeing how well a garden grows in that dirt.
I enjoy watching you both struggle together to get things done.
OMG, guys.... being a homeowner and having to deal with a high water table myself, I feel your pain. It seems like your entire property is floating on water soaked peat. I wish you luck and hope you don't tire of the continuous battles. I very much enjoy watching your ventures.
