it's definitely an homage. also, the line "silence in love will tear us apart," references Joy Division. the whole song is a love letter to early 80's synth rock.
only neg thing about this is theres not enough songs for their return - but this is such an amazing return lets hope they stick with this sound for now - this is like all their older stuff and new sound its soooo great.
Was not expecting this at all. I only found Anberlin's music around 2014 and got into it in 2018. For them to come back now that I appreciate their music is so awesome.
Anberlin had no right to release a song this good in 2022
they had the only right
Damn I can't stop listening to this song. Every time I get in the car I listen on repeat.
Anyone else think that bridge riff at 2:59 kinda sounds like the one in Enjoy the Silence?
I hear it
Definitely!
Absolutely. Both lyrically and musically it feels like an homage and complement to that song. It's clear they have an appreciation for Depeche Mode.

One of the best songs I love from anberlin
Best song on this Ep.❤
I really like this one. Honestly, I would clean this one up a bit. Less distortion etc... so things are a bit clearer. It's a very good song.
My favorite from this ep ❤️
can't wait for the rest of the album lol
I was skeptical they could not reach "Cities" magic again. I pause because I think this album might be that good.
hear some perfect circle and tool vibes in a few of these songs
Calm down buster
AMO QUESTA CANZONE 🥰🎵❤🤍💚
Sweet!!!🎶🎸🎸🎶🎸
They were obviously inspired by the recent popularity resurgence of "Running up that hill". Placebo version possibly.
Possibly.. Who knows.
The Placebo version of running up that hill is one of my favourite covers of all time, along with Johnny Cash Hurt
So you think they made this WHOLE song in the last month and a half??
@@brysonxd Sure why not?
@@davemillsap647 They don't care about Running Up That Hill? This singer is a gospel pastor. He does nothing for popularity.
@@highlightsvideopro that doesn't mean that no one in the band who helps write the songs can be inspired by a popular song
why can't you get this song into the Gaming industry???
Man this sounds so much like the Killers. Great song though
