I discovered Leonard Cohen when I was 16 and I still listen to him now I'm 63. He was my companion through many very dark times. When listening to him I always felt I was not, after all, alone in the universe. An stupid people sneered and said it was 'music to commit suicide to' and 'if you wanted to end a party and get rid of people you put a Leonard Cohen record on.' But when he brought out "I'm Your Man" in 1988 suddenly everybody was a fan. And when the Leonard Cohen Files appeared on the internet I felt my connection with him was not so personal any more. But I still say we had the perfect relationship: he never let me down (except with "Death of a Ladies'Man"!) and he didn't know I existed. He was as witty as he was wise. What a legend. What a legacy.
