So some interesting info about remember when. That is Allan’s wife in the video, they were high school sweethearts and he wrote the song and it’s a true story.
That is actually his wife Denise, they were high school sweethearts. She looks young but she’s really not much younger than him. This song is their story. They separated in the 90’s for a bit, after his heavy touring schedule and his affair. Then they worked it out and have been together ever since. The little girls in the video are their daughters too💞
Alan Jackson is one of the most talented country artists ever. HIs song "Midnight in Montgomery" is a haunting tribute won the Country Music Association award for Music Video of the Year (1992) . Then, you move on to some of his upbeat stuff like "It's 5 o'clock Somewhere" and get a great surprise in the original video. I've never seen one of his videos blocked.
I think you will love Alan Jackson's DRIVE, so relatable. Makes me cry every time thinking about my dad and he's not even the one who taught me to drive
They were high school sweethearts and married young. Around the time their 3rd daughter was born he had an affair. She forgave him and they are still together today.
Hey guys. You’re talking over the song and not paying attention to the words. You are missing a beautiful tribute to the joys and pain of a marriage that lasts from youth to old age.
they were spot on to what the song was saying. They married young, did in fact have a hurtful breakup due to his infidelity , and got back together. That's what song reactions are about. Seeing how other people react to something.
Not sure if you have done his song "Where were you when the world stopped turning". After 9-11 he woke up one night with this in his head and got up and wrote this beautiful song.
He wrote this song about their life together. I've read his wife's book. He cheated on her at one point when their relationship was very rocky but they reconciled. "Found trust"
@@BourbonCountryReacts he's an extremely talented writer as well as singer. Many of his songs are very personal which is why the emotion comes through IMO. Since you enjoyed this one, you may consider some others of his.
It was his lovely wife that helped get him discovered. She was a flight attendant and she gave his demo to a record exec who actually listened to it. Also, they didn't break up but there was alleged infidelity. BTW he sounds just like this live. He has a great voice. He is a singer/songwriter.
While working as a flight attendant, Alan's wife Denise, met singer Glen Campbell ("Rhinestone Cowboy"). Denise told him about Alan and that he was an aspiring country music artist. After their conversation, Glen handed over his business card and said to have Alan contact him.
Saw Alan Jackson at Sioux Falls State Fair 25 years ago or so. Lightning hit and took all but emergency electricity. Alan Jackson kept playing, all acoustic, no microphone. Electricity came back on, I wish it hadn't, it was so good. I was an Alan Jackson fan-ish before, but the way he handled that cemented my Fandom. He just kept playing and entertaining, A total professional and great guy through the whole ordeal. Can't say I like all of his songs, but I will always have respect for him.
I love how he uses the mandolin so wonderfully in most of his videos...its just beautiful...just like his songs...wholesome family oriented songs about real life...about the life most of us secretly dream ours would or should be like...its a shame the world today no longer takes the time with things going at such a fast pace to take time to enjoy and notice....things that would make a difference in the world are being erased...things we should take time for like family and simple moral values....maybe all of us should start thinking about all of this on a daily basis instead of everything bad.
"Chattahoochee" was THE party song by him. The video itself is a party; it's AWESOME! Another good one by him is "Country Boy", which was later in his career relative to "Chattahoochee".
Alan wrote this for his wife & yes, this is her in the video. They were high school sweethearts & have been married 43 years. 3 daughters. This is their story. They had some problems when he got famous & were able to fix it. If you have not heard it, you must check out 'Where were you when the world stopped turning' which he wrote in the days after 9/11. Sooooooooooo powerful.
This song reminds me of my husband. Married as teens, had a brief split in our 20s, reconciled and had a big family. We never got to be old and remember when because he died suddenly at 45. 😪😪
It’s on his gospel cd Precious Memories. My Dad was a musician and played bass and rhythm guitar, that’s all I knew growing up til he passed in 2007. I quite singing and became a firefighter/first responder. It was to hard to get through songs especially Ricky Van Shelton’s “I’ll leave at his World Loving You” which my Mom had recorded when Dad sang it so he sang it at his own funeral and of course everyone cried ugly.
Just found your channel a couple weeks ago... This song was played at my husband's funeral. Cancer stole our plans. I'm 60 years old now. We were married 38 years. He's been gone from this earth for 5 years now. Beautiful song.
I love this song! It was my mom and dad's song. They were married 40 years when mom passed from breast cancer but they were one of those couples that never really got tired of each other and I never heard them fight
Yeah, as far as bookfaces goes, it's intended as an insult. I've recently dumped it and most other social media, being largely cesspools bringing out the worst of humanity. - Keith
My parents actually graduated from the same high school class, but didn’t really interact. 5 years later, my grandmothers both worked together & set them up on a date. They had never had a serious relationship beforehand. My Dad still has the receipt from their first date in his wallet. He knew that night he wanted to marry her. Funnily enough, my husband & I met working where out Mom’s worked & we’ve been together over 20 years now.
AJ has dozens of huge hits…of all types. I’ve seen him perform live several times…he’s always superb. There are probably 20-30 songs that you would love.
I saw him perform this in concert and it was unbelievable. Well that’s better than the port -a-potty my partner at work bought me. Then turned around and asked if he could use it at his camp site......after all I didn’t need it yet !! LOL.
Alan is such a great songwriter and performer so I love a lot of what he does but what’s so special about this song to me is how it doesn’t candy coat the struggles people often go through. No one said marriage and raising kids is easy but man is it worth it! The song mentions how the start was hard and how life threw them some curves which happens. Also, how they’ll break each other’s hearts and hopefully bend but not break the marriage. How having kids can teach valuable lessons to the parents who have to let go of so much of themselves and put the kids first which often brings the parents closer even though the job of raising kids is one of the hardest yet most rewarding things they’ll ever do. It also talks about how our perceptions and values change as life moves on and how ultimately we’d do it all again, the struggles, the hurt, the broken trust, the rebuilt trust, the joy, and the love. It’s a masterpiece and now that I've been married for 19 years and have two wonderful kids this song means so much more to me. My favorite songs by the icon Alan Jackson are Remember When, Livin’ on Love, Where Were You, Small Town Southern Man, I’ll Try, Here in the Real World, Drive, She’s Got the Rhythm, The Older I Get, Monday Morning Church, and I Can't Do That Anymore (recorded by Faith Hill).
I like Here in the Real World and I can't Do That Anymore. I don't know if Plano in your name is TX but listening to all these old songs reminds me of when Plano was a small, close-knit community, and hanging out at the Ag barn. 😁

Love this song. Hits most people in some sort of emotional way. Played this at my wedding to the “how long have you been married” dance. My grandparents were the last ones out there with 60 years. They’re not on 65 happy years together :)
When you said "effortless" the first thing that popped into my head was Keith Whitley singing When You Say Nothing At All. I think y'all will really appreciate his voice. Crying isn’t uncommon for a female on her first time. It’s kinda like we’re overcome with emotions that we can’t quite put our finger on. Maybe it’s a salute to our innocence, sort of the “death” (in a way) of the child and an awakening of the woman. That sounds very cliche’, I know, but it’s the best explanation I can come up with to express that feeling.

@@BourbonCountryReacts Gotcha!
Hank Williams Jr.... Country Boy Can Survive, Family Tradition
Kentucky Headhunters....Dumas Walker, and Walk Softly on This Heart of Mine
I'm betting we've both heard the Hank Jr. stuff. We'll add the Kentucky Headhunters to our list.
You guys would like Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake at the cma awards Drink you away and Tennessee Whiskey.
We may have to check that out. I'm surprised to see the words "Justin Timberlake" in a country context, though.
Also another good one is called father My son and the holy Ghost by Craig Morgan and it is a must hear song it definitely will hit you in the heart because it's very powerful and it's a true story he lost his son and wrote this song

Johnny Cash, “Hurt.”

ALAN JACKSON WROTE REMEMBER WHEN SONG IT FOR HIS WIFE
Definitely check out Midnight in Montgomery, and for an upbeat one Chattahoochee
We'll add those to our list. Thanks.
Please listen to Alan Jackson's "It's 5 o'clock Somewhere" featuring Jimmy Buffet for a really fun song! Also "Drive" is a nostalgic feel-good song.
Lyrics will make or break a song for me... I'm with you on that.
I don't know about make or break, but they definitely matter to me. - Keith
I buy alcohol for cooking.
When I moved in with my new guy, he actually thought I drank a lot. I had 4 milk crates full of different alcohols.
He calls it Her Drunken Food.
I put bourbon in my chili. But I use bottom-shelf stuff. - Keith

I buy what I think will taste amazing for different things.

Good amaretto for the raisins in my pumpkin bread
Vanilla Crown Royal for the raisin & zucchini in my zucchini pineapple bread.
The list goes on & on
You guys were a bit chatty during this reaction, but kudos on feeling out the meaning and emotions Alan was putting across.
We're often chatty. It's kinda what we do here.
@@BourbonCountryReacts my apologies, I guess I've kinda been corrected.
Homeboy on the left looks toasted lol. Enjoying the videos of y’alls
Can confirm, this was the last video of a night of shooting (we're doing better about our production to help with this going forward) - Dustin
@@BourbonCountryReacts I think you do a fantastic job. I wasn’t trying to be hateful at all. I hope you didn’t take it that way. I’m just sarcastic. Sorry
@@BourbonCountryReacts I subscribed the other night. Just glad I came across your channel in UA-cam algorithms
Not at all. We thought it was funny too. - Keith
Try his song “[Daddy Let Me] Drive”…it’s fun and upbeat but everyone loves it…hits most people in the feels!
Added a vote for that one -Dustin
And he's faithful
Alan Jackson - Chattahoochee
I dont think the only thing toasted was the Barrel Dustin.
Yall have got to get some more women of country on here. Terri Clark (girls lie too), leann rimes (one way ticket), Jamie O'Neil (somebody's hero), Jessica andrews (who i am)
I love strong female vocals. We'll add those to our list. - Keith
