I have been to a lot of state fairs, the Washington State Fair is definitely on my radar now. I like the fact that they have permanent rollercoasters and other permanent rides
I live one and a half blocks away from the blue gate. I haven't been to the fair in 4 years but I think it's time to "doooooooooooo the Puyallup" this year as we used to say growing up! Great video.
Thanks for visiting our fair, glad you loved it! Born and raised about 20 minutes from Puyallup so have been to this fair most of my life! I never realized that most other fairs don’t have built in permanent rides like we do! My favorite thing to do is look at all the animals, walk through the showplex at all the stuff people are selling lol and of course food! I also love to see all the free performers, especially when they have the hypnotist!
My boyfriend is from Tacoma and said that you did a phenomenal job showcasing the fair and all that it had to offer!! Thank you!!! Hopefully will go sometime with him. ❤️
That is the COOLEST fair I’ve ever seen, to have actual permanent rides at the fair is absolutely amazing. You do not see that at all. Def a state fair I’d love to go to someday with my soon to be hubby :).
It's a great fair with a lot to do and see. It blows my fair in my town to bits as big it is. The entertainment is top notch too and be sure to fuel up with a earthquake burger and a brick of searing curly fries after you've walked around and did the rides. Great fair.
Majority of those rid s are the same ones from the early 80s and before. This is the best Puyallup Fair tour on u tube I've ever seen. It's nice watching. I'm from Puyallup and even worked there all year round. But watching good times, is always nice.
I went to the Puyallup Fair ...as it was called when I was a kid...a few years ago and I couldn't wait to try a scone and they were just as wonderful as I remembered. I'm going this year with my family that live in Washington,my daughters and two of my granddaughters. They live in Las Vegas and I live in Arkansas now. We are so excited!!! Thanks for the great review!!!
Thanks for coming to Puyallup! We'd love to have you at the fair again sometime! I absolutely love being an theme park/ride enthusiast growing up in Puyallup. It's so interesting that for us it's just normal to drive by a wooden roller coaster or to see the Extreme Scream as part of the skyline. We even have our high school graduations at the fair!
I actually tried the Zipper at the New York State Fair this year and I will confidently say that no force on the face of the earth could ever get me to go on that ride again. I absolutely HATED it.
Very fond memories of this place as a kid. One time my sister and I got those dizzy day passes where you can ride the rides without ticket admission when you bought the bracelet. I remember just going back and forth on that scambler ride and the matterhorn bobsled ride. Those were so fun.
What kind of retards came up with that? No w to speak of yet you've got a wallop of one in the middle... I call it Poo Y'all Up Because that's what happened to the locals round here.
We used to have a Huss Enterprise but after watching this looks like it was removed. Another unique permanent flat ride we had was the Huss Jumping but that was removed 5 years ago, it was a fun ride and definitely worth the credit.
The WA State Fair is a lot of fun! I went a few years ago. I hadn’t been since I was a teenager. You can easily spend the entire day. I was there from 9am - 9pm and my Apple Watch told me I walked just under 7 miles. The wooden coaster was amazing, terrifying, and so much fun! The Barrett family that owns Kaleenka Piroshky lived in my neighborhood growing up and I’ve been eating their piroshky since the 1970s!
Ha ha ha Tampico Tumbler, where if it broke down, the ride ops would break out the magic flat head screwdriver. Walked by the area where it used to be last week and was like I know what used to be here.

...agreed w/others, its great to see a State Fair that retained their vintage old school permanent amusement (ride) area. I hope that they keep that old school fair feel for the future to enjoy. That said, ill whine n pine for a bit to share that the Wisconsin State Fair had a permanent year round (rides ) amusement area including a wooden coaster, 1950's wild mouse, hammer, and old mill water ride, all torn down/removed by 1961. Since, till the 1980's, the fair used "Royal American Shows" for rides. Most of the classic fair architecture of WSF is history. WHAT are "fair board of directors" thinking ? Clearly, they, are not, and spend too much time trying to satisfy market research "bean counting" at the expense of middle class value entertainment. Looks like Washington State Fair has it right .... thumbs up !
